  1. Pretty much. If he needs a mentor to show him something that's just one element of the offense, then I guess we're going to have to bring in someone to help with screen passes, fade routes and other aspects too.
  2. I know people will say they're just saying it, but Verge said this before the draft.
  3. Couldda sworn for a second he said "Brady and a screw"
  4. Found it... Pretty sure there was another report saying something similar but this was the original...
  5. While we're at it, I would say our first two draft picks make me think they're also listening to their new assistant coaches.
  6. They met with him before the draft and told him they were probably taking a quarterback. They openly pursued trade talks with the Browns about Baker Mayfield. Where is anybody seeing evidence that they were trying to be discreet so as not to hurt Sam Darnold's feelings?
  7. McAdoo's history would suggest that while he might not be a great head coach, he can coach quarterbacks. I'm hoping history is correct.
  8. Do you actually have "articles and quotes which state the opposite" or are you just bullsh-tting?
  9. People are looking at this the wrong way. When the team had Newton, they had two choices. They could teach him the pro game or just build an offense around what he already knew. Under Shula, they built the offense around his college concepts. When they scrapped Shula and hired Turner, they did what they should have done from the beginning and coached him up to the pro game. The last thing I want to see them do is make the same mistake with Matt Corral.
  10. If he didn't have confidence in Corral, he'd have drafted someone else. There were other options, Sam Howell for one. This theory is stupid.
  11. Was going to say something similar... It was reported that there was an internal dispute going on over Mayfield. My theory was (and still is) that Rhule wanted Mayfield. Fitterer has expressed (repeatedly) that he views drafting and building around a quarterback as "the right way to do it". I'd say Fitterer won the argument.
