  1. General expectation is that nothing will happen until there's at least some resolution on the criminal charges. Some teams might be willing to deal with the lawsuits, probably looking for conditions like Ross did in Miami. But others (i.e. the dumb ones) will take the risk and jump in. Here's to hoping we're not that dumb.
  2. With multiple bidders? Including several with way more trade ammunition than us? Not likely.
  3. The Texans want at least three first round picks, plus two other assets (either players or high picks). With multiple teams interested, why should they lower their demands?
  4. Also means there's no incentive for the Texans to back down on their asking price. No way in hell we should even consider that.
  5. Nothing. This isn't new information. It's a rehash of a report from Aaron Wilson that we've already seen and discussed...extensively.
  6. It's the same story we already heard. It isn't new information.
  7. Power and desperation are a really really bad combination.
  8. Regarding the timing... So yeah, he'd normally have been part of those conversations. They'll be going through a good chunk of the offseason with no one in that spot. I'm not worried though because pretty sure Dan Morgan's "got dis".
  9. Same reason people go to the Lions or the Jags, promotions and/or connections. I was hoping Morgan could pry Lake Dawson away from them as a college scouting director but they hired someone else for that job. Pro scouting director? If Fitterer's old friend (and former Panthers scout) Trent Kirchner is looking to bail, he'd be a great hire.
  10. A little more... First thought would be someone from the Bills or the Seahawks, and there are some good people to be had from either staff.
  11. Thing is, Allen was generally considered to be a hard worker and good at his job. My worry here is whether this is a Matt Rhule move or Fitterer/Morgan. Rhule has final roster say and general team control, but I don't know if that extends to hiring and firing in the front office (which he technically could have if he has Tepper's ear). If it is Rhule, expect the replacement to be someone loyal to him.
  12. Don't think there's anybody left in the front office from the prior regime. (at least not in the personnel area)
  13. I mean it is basically the same sort of thing. Prime difference I suppose would be this time it's more out of necessity. They chose to do so the last time.
  14. I don't think anybody's gonna have a naked standup of David Tepper made. Okay, maybe Sizzlebuzz.
  15. Richardson did interview Steve Spurrier before hiring John Fox. Word was that the interview went hysterically bad, but Spurrier sucked in the NFL so it turned out okay. Tepper probably would have given him a record breaking contract.
  16. Thanks for reminding me of that, Fuzz
