I would never bet on everyone being happy with whoever the Panthers pick. Not on this board
-
My first reaction to the title was "Who is Farley and what is he back from?" I didn't remember us having a player by that name. Took me a second to figure out what he actually meant. Glad to see I'm not the only one

I'm with ya.

Same place mine is

Whether he will or won't influence the decision, don't know. What I do know is that he shouldn't, and if he's smart, he won't. And to be clear, we don't know for sure what he wants, but I'd say that even if he agreed with everything I think they should do. I'm not gonna change my opinion on owner interference depending on whether he agrees with me or not. It's bad either way. Let the football people do their jobs.

Person did get better when he went to The Athletic, but he's still limited. But hey, Aaron Wilson is a free agent right now. I'd take him as the Panthers beat writer in a heartbeat.
-
I could see that. He's been pushing Fields pretty hard. If they don't take him, he looks silly.

4 Panthers Draft Predictions (by Dean Jones)
Mr. Scot replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Side Note: I thought he was great in "The Shaggy DA" and "Herbie goes to Monte Carlo". -
Technically that approach was hope, pray and screw up the entire previous season.
-
Person is now saying that the opinion of Fields within the building is "mixed" with some thinking he's really good and others questioning his pro readiness. It all comes down to how Fitterer and Rhule feel of course, and on that topic Person doesn't know.
-
Pretty much. The way I put it was that you don't want the least knowledgeable guy in the room to be the one driving the decisions. That's how you wind up being the WFT. Tepper stated at Fitterer's press conference that he knows he's not an evaluator and he's not going to try to be one, so I'd really rather not see him going back on that statement. You're a businessman, not a football guy. Let the football people do their jobs and butt out.

Patriots have talked to the Panthers about a draft day trade

Breer pointed out that Pat Stewart has a lot of connections in the Patriots front office. Likely also has a few with the Eagles. -
Maintaining perspective on draft day
Mr. Scot replied to TheMostInterestingMan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's true. We've all seen players we disliked flourish and players we believed in totally bust. I don't know how it's going to go down this year, but I know I'll hope for the best. Till then, I can feel confident and hopeful in at least one thing. Marty Hurney's not running it anymore. If there's anything the vast majority of us can come to an agreement on, I'd say it's that.- 20 replies

Multiple sources have hinted that we're not high on Trey Lance. One or two suggested that we didn't like any quarterbacks other than Lawrence and Wilson, but one of those same sources (Joe Person) later suggested we were "intrigued" by Fields. I've read enough to believe the Panthers non-interest in Trey Lance is probably fact. Whether or not they genuinely like Justin Fields or it's just a smokescreen? Don't really know. Ask me on Friday. I know Verge doesn't see us taking a first round QB at this point.

Would still prefer a tackle like Sewell or Slater, but I do grant that corner is a need.
-
I think I saw this in "Chinatown" with Jack Nicholson.
-
I kinda doubt Simms truly believes it'll happen. I think he's probably just being douchey here.

Lady Cowboy Fan has some pretty bad back issues. I had some minor issues when I was young but haven't for several years. Got a frozen shoulder though
-
Everybody knows who the Jets are taking. Everybody knows who the Jaguars are taking.
-
To be fair, this board was capable of totally devolving conversations long before the virus hit.
-
I have to admit that's one thing I question. You have the third pick and pretty much everybody knows who's going one and two. What the hell is the point of smokescreening from that position?
-
Back pain is a b-tch for football players, or pretty much any athlete for that matter. That's what ended Charles Haley's career, as I recall.
-
A looooot of mocks I've seen have us taking Richie Grant in the second. I'd be totally on board with that.
-
I saw one that had Penei Sewell dropping to us, but we traded the pick to the Chargers so they could take Sewell. We took Rashawn Slater in their spot. That one was sh-t. Looking at this one though, you could definitely make an argument that it's worse. I mean, at least in the other one we got Slater.
