His MO reminds me way too much of our former GM. It's all "win now" and worry about the consequences later, which is great if you actually do "win now" but screws you for the long haul if you don't. Kudos to him for making an effort, but I'd much rather have a smart guy taking a methodical approach than a not-so-smart guy going all in on an annual basis. I have to admit I'm a little skittish about the idea of putting us in the position of depending on someone of whom the phrase "if healthy" must be applied. Jake Long's knees have to be able to support a lot more weight than Thomas Bavis's do. Leg injuries are not an easy thing for big men to recover from even in the best of circumstances.
