  1. I've seen this a couple of times recently, and I've gotta say few things scream "don't take what I say seriously" quite as much as trying to compare only last season's records. It's a really stupid argument.
  2. Well if you believe the reports, at least early on it was Ben Johnson. Pretty interesting that Reich had already been in contact with (and apparently received answers from) several coaches he's interested in hiring during the interview process. Said before it might mean the task of filling the staff won't take long, but there would still be external factors like whether assistant's teams were in the playoffs and such.
  3. Remember Daboll with the Giants last year decided rather than just hiring people he knew, he was going to try to get the best fits for what they wanted to do. I wonder if Reich might consider a similar approach.
  4. Honestly I'd say the majority of Matt Rhule's hirings fit that description.
  5. I've seen a couple of different analysts mention CJ Stroud as a guy who would fit very well with what Reich does on offense. I would say based on his description of the qualities he values, he doesn't sound like someone who would subscribe to the "just draft a big armed athletic guy and try to teach him how to pass" philosophy.
  6. Granted, most teams try really hard to antagonize new coaches in their introductory videos, but hey...
  7. My guess is he'll get in touch with some of the team leaders at least...
  8. That's a good one. The clip with Kristen Balboni (posted elsewhere) is good too.
  9. Apparently some confusion regarding the introductory presser...
  10. Word was Condoleeza Rice was pretty firmly behind Shaw.
  11. Someone else created a thread about it. There's a more detailed discussion of it there:
  12. People these days do love to get involved in online outrage, whether it actually means anything or has any relation to them or not.
  13. Nobody was offering it to him. Ossenfort and Payton do have at least something of a connection in that they are both Bill Parcells guys. I'd have to imagine that plays into the dynamic.

  15. Somebody's gonna have to explain to me how hiring Sean Payton fits in with Monti Ossenfort's "no egos" statement
  16. Saw that. Didn't exactly get to pick his spot after all Albright has been heavily implying that the Broncos are going to get Demeco Ryans. That leaves Houston still floundering and the Colts people still trying to get their Charlie Harper owner to hire anybody but Jeff Saturday.
  17. Offseason Note: Along with keeping Campen and Tabor, keep this guy.
  18. One of the stories mentioned that Reich had already spoken to people he wants to bring aboard and they've agreed. It's possible some of that may be conditional but I didn't get that impression, at least not from what I read.
  19. Don't want to get into any of that stuff in this thread, honestly. We've already had a couple of threads closed today. For now, this is kudos and thank you to a very good man whom we're lucky to have had be part of the team.
  20. Everybody was trying to tie the DC interviews to either Sean Payton, Ben Johnson or one of the other young candidates. Given what we now know about Reich having come prepared with staff options, I wonder...
