  1. Why? He is technically our highest rated tackle(per PFF). I am all for loading up on OL but that seems foolish.
  2. Yeah, he was a guy that came in at the wrong time with massive shoes to fill. Very underappreciated for sticking with this franchise through many a dumpster fire year. A solid but unspectacular Panther and a guy that deserves to be remembered fondly and not with the level of vitriol that some throw at him. By all accounts a very solid dude and excellent teammate.
  3. Yeah, we would be fools to not consider offers especially if Johnson has no intention on resigning here. So, we should at least have some preliminary discussions if very good trade offers are made. We have time before week 10. I really hope we don't hear any crazy poo like us turning down a 2nd, 3rd and 5th or some poo only for us to watch him just leave for free in thr offseason.
  4. The trade ideas being pitched in here are mostly retarded, if I am honest. The odds if him being moved before the offseason, very slim. The odds that he is going to fetch more than a mid round pick, also quite slim. Also, the insane level of hatred for the guy is a little bit much. He technically never did anything wrong. He played his cards right and got selected #1 overall. He tried his best(yes, that is what we are seeing despite all the insane takes) and it turns out he just isn't an NFL caliber QB. He didn't draft himself and he certainly didn't trade a massive haul to get himself. He is no more at fault than Rickey Williams was for having the Saints trade an entire draft class to get him. Take a breath, fuging focus on the fact that we have a new QB now and Bryce Young shouldn't be ruining your Sunday, unless you are quite literally mentally ill. Otherwise, this is rent free space you are allowing you to have in your own dome, which is basically schizophrenic behavior. This chapter will be over soon enough. Calm. Down.
  5. Yeah, ideally Brooks looks like the next man up and then Chuba can get his bag in free agency.
  6. As feared. The way he talked about coming back from the last injury, I think he probably hangs it up. Such a sad ending to a guy that really stuck it out in Carolina through some hard times.
  7. The talent with XL was very evident but so were the hurdles to him being an elite WR. He really needs to buckle down in the offseason and work like a madman on his ball skills. I am less concerned about his route running, needs some polish but his ball skills are below average for his age. If he can get those better over the next couple of seasons, he will be a legit #1 guy. As you said, having experienced people around XL is fantastic. Hopefully we get another guy like that next year to help him out too.
  8. I think the biggest thing is the quality of the games being played. That matters a lot. Take the Bengals game, a little to the left or right(missed catches, missed tackles, missed calls) and we win that game by maybe that same 10 points Heck, I think if AT was healthy we win. He wouldn't have dropped some of the passes the young guys were dropping. Versus basically needing the opposing team to poo the bed and our team play great to be competitive like last year.
  9. Oh I am definitely not forgetting that era. Re-watch that. It wasn't very good QB play.
  10. Well he is also an outlier in that he didn't pop until later. Usually those 3rd to 5th rounder RB's that end up starting caliber IMMEDIATELY pop. He took real time to completely develop and he did the work to do so. Oh I agree. We can't keep whiffing in the top two rounds. It's not going to work out long term like that. Chuba it really depends on the money and Brooks. If Brooks immediately looks like a guy, it doesn't make a lot of sense to be paying Chuba too.
  11. I really disliked the draft too but it just is what it is. Hopefully we get a couple of hits and then it won't matter about the misses. Look at a guy like Hubbard, for instance. He was skewered by this board as being "Rhule's wifes pick" and was a disaster as a rookie and second year player. But, he's now a competent starting caliber RB with much improved hands. He has been a hell of a pick in hindsight. So maybe Wallace or Sanders end up being those players in 2-3 seasons.
  12. That is what years of roster mismanagement will bring. It will take at least two offseasons to probably dig completely out of that hole. That's assuming we don't goof this up and start digging downward. Morgan is under the spotlight for the next two offseasons. He has a TON of work to do. I hope he is the guy. I would love to have a former player lead the way to revitalizing us.
  13. Yep. Get some guys like Johnson and Dalton bought in for the next couple of seasons. Come back, get paid and help us build something. Hell, if Johnson leaves, go find another guy(or two) similar. Give him the opportunity to cook and maybe get paid in the offseason. Eventually we will hopefully build ourselves to the point where we keep some of these upper tier rentals. Once we get ourselves out of the "must overpay to keep people" range, we might string together some impactful free agent offseasons. Hell we already did with just Johnson and the OL.
  14. - There is no logic or reason behind making "win now trades." We aren't a good team. This is how we ended up here. Making several seasons of "OH poo WE HAVE TO GET BETTER" trades and nuking our future. - We don't have any elite, instant impact rookies. Guys like XL, Brooks, Wallace, Sanders, etc.....these are project players. So just chill on the unrealistic expectations. What we want to see is that from Game 1 to Game 17 they show progress, development and learning. That's what success for those guys looks like. Expect highs and expect lows. It's fine. - JAG's are elite players either. There is no magic bullet to some of these roster holes(specifically at Edge). Don't get crazy and assume that Barno or Wonnum or whatever PS player are suddenly going to come in and be Hassan Reddick. You might see some flashes and that's great. That is why they are here, to flash occasionally. Not to be the second coming of Julius Peppers. - We are going to lose a lot of games. That's just the life of a team near the bottom of the league in overall talent. - Most importantly: ENJOY THE RETURN OF WATCHABLE FOOTBALL. Don't get insane/delusional/manic with expectations of divisional titles, playoff berths, etc. It isn't going to happen in 2024. That doesn’t mean we can't enjoy this coaching staff and the competence they bring. It doesn't mean we can't enjoy being competitive in many more games that we have been recently. It doesn't mean that we can't enjoy the best OL we have had in many, many years. It doesn't mean we can't enjoy the first competent QB play we have seen since Cam got his shoulder nuked. Just enjoy the ride. Enjoy not dreading watching a thumping or horrific football every Sunday. Even if we have to significantly Tepper our expectations, there is a small light at the end of this tunnel. It's that we finally look like a relevant football team for one day a week. It might not be much, but it's a damn sight better than just about anything else we have seen in the Tepper era.
  15. In fairness to Sanders, it's highly unlikely he ever becomes as good as Andrews is now. Regardless, TE isn't even in the top 8 problems on our roster.
  16. What is with all the lightspeed retarded trade threads? Do some of you guys literally hate our team or are currently working as David Tepper assistants???? You guys realize this is the sort of ignorant poo that got us where we are now, right?
  17. It's also a completely unnecessary addition. Adding him probably changes the outcome of zero games this season. We don't need a pass rusher, we need pass rushers. We literally don't have a single non-replacement level pass rusher on the entire roster. That isn't a mid-season trade fix, that's a 2-3(or more) offseasons of intelligent free agent signings and draft picks fix. Elite and competent pass rushers don't grow on trees.
  18. Barno is what he had always been, a special teams player with his ceiling basically as a part time backup Edge. There is no superstar waiting to break out. Not that there is anything wrong with that. He is who he was supposed to be as a 6th round draft pick.
  19. Competitive we can be but this is a very bad roster and we haven't been playing high caliber opponents the past two weeks. Make no mistake, we are going to see some humbling losses several times this season still. There is zero reason to be making any "win now" moves. That's how we ended up with the worst roster in franchise history.
  20. This is one of the strangest lists I have ever seen.
  21. Yeah, I have no desire to replace him until he starts showing signs of physical decline. Let him help develop our offensive players and identify who our future core will be there.
  22. I mean, we are not even in the same zip code as a playoffs discussion. We need significant roster upgrades at multiple positions for that. That's not even taking into account that we have multiple PS players getting significant time.
  23. Yeah, when they said heel I immediately though Achilles. If so, I think he hangs it up. Very sad ending, if so.
  24. I called that one. Daniels was my dude.
