I am fine going the rotating journeyman route for a while. This team needs to be built. We aren't even anywhere near the point of a rookie QB being able to come in here and immediately be successful. We need to focus on building out a non-UFL roster and then when this ship is headed in the right direction we can start worrying about our QB of the future.

I would really rather not be using a second on a likely 2nd/3rd string QB. Not with the current holes we have. Our 2nd round pick needs to be a day one starter.

I think it won't be a massive blowout because the Falcons will do the smart thing and run early and often.

It's more about perception and making him look foolish. He has proven how thin skinned he is so watching him get drug in the media isn't nothing.

I would add that I don't want to ultimately reward Tepper's BS by going to these games, buying food/drinks/merch/etc. Let those stands be empty, let them be filled with opposing fans. Let him have to visibly see that the fanbase does not support what he has done to our franchise. fug it, let him get jawed at by Falcons fans and resort to another chuck a drink and run move.

Belichick kind of proved that as great as he was, he is a low caliber talent evaluator and cannot easily win without a generational QB. The poor talent evaluator is the biggest reason I would not be interested in BB.

If you didn't know that Scott Fitterer was gone but just solely looked at his orevious drafts and 2024, you would never know he left.

I don't doubt there was an article but I would be interested to know the basis of that. I get that TE's have dual roles but, so do most players on an offense. RB's are expected to run the ball, block and catch the ball. WR's are expected to catch the ball and block. Etc, etc. I don't think there is anything inherently more difficult about being a TE and I do generally think players in the modern era are typically much more experienced and prepared than they ever have been before. This is the bigger reason you see a lot of these skill position players being more effective earlier in their careers, IMO. We are in the era of extreme specialization. If you were playing at a high level throughout HS, you probably had position specific training for years and years. And the amount of training and reps are way, way, WAY higher than 20-30 years ago. That doesn't apply to everyone and with each step up from HS to college to the NFL there is an adjustment to the speed, difficulty, etc. But if you are a player that was elite, often you are well prepared for that. This will differ if you are a 5th round small school pick that may not have the resources poured into them over the years. That adjustment might be more in some of those cases.

Well most people hate math, so I think that is why they distrust metrics(unless those metrics support their preconceived notions). I mean, except that numerology guy that sometimes posts here. He really loves numbers. Anyway, ultimately I think you are right that having an analytical approach is not a bad thing. You just can't get too entranced with metrics over experienced eyeballs or vice versa. It has to a a logical approach with plenty of checks and balances. And it needs to be a living thing that constantly gets tweaked, adjusted and improved. Our failings are the cohesion(and competence, TBH) of the entire organization. We have no unified goal, it seems. It strikes me externally as a kingdom filled with warring feifdoms all trying to protect their own interests and skins.

I will say at this point anyone hiring a college coach with any level of success(high or low) as a new NFL HC that has no real experience playing or coaching in the NFL.....is just lightspeed retarded. That is the case 100/100 times. Now, everyone gets lucky on occasion but that it's still unbelievably stupid and almost akin to buying expired scratch off lottery tickets in an attempt to hit it rich.

We just aren't going to agree on the development being very long for TE's. It is what it is. For Sanders, I agree it was unrealistic to have him play and produce right away. I am a little surprised how bad overall he has been but, as you say, 4th round pick. If he develops into a decent backup, that's a home run.

I say that because in the last ten years a lot of the best receiving producers statistically are TE's. And a decent chunk of those noted blockers, as well. IMO, it mirrors the WR trend. There are a lot more capable players coming out today than in years past. Doesn't mean there isn't an adjustment, everyone has that. I just don't think these old adages really ring as true for the better prospects. I think our problem is that we heavily lean towards project players like Sanders and then rely on them to not be projects. This is why I have been so heavily against these sort of picks(I was a fan of the Sanders pick, for the record) for us because we take project guys in the second half of the first round through the 7th round. The hite rates are unbelievably low and then we make it worse by having to press them into action too early.

Well there are a lot of TE's recently who haven't taken that time to develop at all so I think that you might be looking at this specifically through the lens of a Panthers fan only. Our TE struggles are really our own making for the most part. This mirrors the WR's that have been successful in the past 10+ years.
