  1. As is always the case with dumpster fire franchises. We have successfully demolished every ounce of culture we had under Richardson. The culture now is getting paid because that is all we offer.
  2. I laughed so hard reading this thread. Thank you for bumping this.
  3. Yeah, the comments from teammates were pretty telling. I don't doubt that most of them have empathy but it's a business and they can shine or develop in their careers with him playing this way.
  4. I mean, I don't think they are necessarily wrong. Perhaps his career arc is substantially different if he was riding the pine for a couple of seasons behind a guy like Dalton or another successful starting QB. Given what we saw last season, it doesn't look like the decision to start him was left to any of our head coaches. I think it's a stretch to say he might have been an elite guy but maybe his career arc is more like Colt McCoy rather than Josh Rosen.
  5. Plans change. If the offseason looks moderately competent with Dalton, I suspect the change will be permanent(barring injury). Otherwise Canales may lose the locker room. If that happens, the hole we are in becomes even deeper.
  6. It doesn't make sense to trade him until the offseason. Either from a roster standpoint or financially.
  7. You know he hasn't played a full schedule since 2017, right?
  8. Agreed. His problems go well beyond his height. His lack of elite attributes is a much bigger issue than the height.
  9. Bryce is doing what he needs to be doing. Sitting and watching.
  10. I don't think he doesn't understand. He is just shell shocked and has no confidence anymore. The problem is that not all young QB's are able to recover from that. TBQH, I would be very surprised if he does.
  11. Yes but that wasn't the rap on him coming in. If anything, he seemed very confident and sure of his abilities. Clearly that ended up not being the case.
  12. Our bet was that he was basically "pro-ready" between the ears. That blinded us to the physical limitations. I say that because I was one of those guys too.
  13. I was genuinely surprised by how much push back I got on calling this the worst roster we have ever had in the offseason. I don't think some of the more rosy glassed fans truly realize how bad it is here from top to bottom.
  14. There is basically next to no chance Johnson re-signs with us unless we pay him like an elite WR.
  15. Manning looked that way initially and figured it out but Howell is very far from Manning's class of QB even when just comparing that college to pro jump. I know you are a Heel fan but the reasons to move on from Howell in Washington were sound. Dropping him into another scenario where he doesn't have a team that can elevate him is probably very unlikely to work out. If you really want him to be successful, he needs to be riding the pine for a few seasons and getting up to speed. Behind a guy like Geno is a good place. He was a guy that made that later career jump.
  16. Rush or Stidham are basically 3rd string QB's. That would be an upgrade over Plummer, I suppose but at a much higher price tag.
  17. Well one is my personal projection but Howell has enough tape for me to personally put him in that "TO prone gunslinger" category. It is possible that he eventually develops a much better sense of reading the field and gets that reigned in but that is likely after several years as a backup QB working on that. That really does nothing for us. Remember that the "projects" that Canales gets credit for(likely unfairly so) were both multi-year veterans of the NFL. Howell is not.
  18. I basically detailed out in the Sam Howell thread why guys like Winston are not long term viable candidates in the modern NFL. The game has just shifted away from highly TO prone gunslingers.
  19. That situation makes very little sense. We are a franchise very far from win now mode(and utterly in disarray) and Wilson is a player very late in his career. I could not fathom why he would ever consider us.
  20. In the 2025 class, absolutely not. Those guys will just be happy to be there. Not a strong class at all on paper.
  21. Oh, Daniels is very clearly more talented, IMO. He was my #1 QB in that class.
