I actually have no problem with basically the idea of constant free agency. IMO, it makes the offseason more fun. Plus it values veteran players over HS guys. I would never claim it is perfect but college football will always and forever be the most fuged up and unequal system in all of athletics. It has also single handedly ruined 100% of all other college sports, so I have no sympathy if it goes down the drain.

I am 100% fine with the transfer portal. College students can transfer as much as they want. Athletes should get the same. I have never or will ever understand how anyone who claims to like college athletics could ever support such an insanely crooked and fuged up system as existed beforehand. I have supported the idea of the NIL for almost 30 years now. I even wrote a paper on it in college.

Steve is doing his job to be a TV troll. He is literally on a panel of other TV trolls. I would also say, cool that DD got fired up and won them that game. So, is that what you need to win games you should win? You need media disrespect? You think maybe a better idea is to always have your team prepared, even when there isn't some media troll egging you on?

Those models have a finite lifespan. If you know enough younger people(under 30), you will see that most don't have a "main" streaming service as a replacement for traditional cable TV. You will also see that engagement with college football and the NFL is quite low. Those sports will experience a retraction or almost complete collapse in the next 15-20 years as their core audience basically dies out with no real replacement. They built their models on the idea that TV revenue and subscriptions will go up forever and that is absolutely not even remotely true. Younger audiences aren't going to pay for a $300 NFL package nor are they going to pay $25/month for Bally Sports. Nor are they going to pay $50+/month for a traditional cable package or it's streaming equivalent. I travel all over the country and I see a fraction of engagement with those traditional forms of media in the sub-30 crowd. Football is in very, very big trouble.

That was an utter and complete joke. If you watch college football it's immediately EXTREMELY evident that the ACC is the absolute gutter of P5 football. The gulf between the Pac 12, Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC is completely insane when you compare them to the ACC. It's literally very plain to see every single week of college football this year. Outside Florida St, not a single ACC team had any business being ranked this season.

I would fire Reich at 0-7

Yeah, whatever it would feel like for the fans it wouldn't look good to any other coach that might halfway consider us. -
Both Sam Darnold and P.J. Walker starting this Sunday.

PJ has backup QB vibes. Has maybe 4-5 games a season in him and then it all falls apart. -
There is no reason to. The cast is set. We just are what we are. No reason to trade away anything. Let the chips fall where they may and evaluate the FO and coaching staff in the offseason. I am even off the firing Reich bandwagon. WTF does it even matter at this point? Do we really expect some sort of miraculous, Wilks-like turnaround?

He will get to finish the season, even at 0-17. JMO. -

Rhule did say 7 years so......

Yeah, he is kind of a guy that would be a classic possession WR in older offenses. That just doesn't fit as much in the current league. I would say that he probably ends up as a situational player for us eventually. Assuming we install an offense from the last 15 years.

Unfortunately, Surtain would be very pricey. Would love to have him. -
The questions are how much do you pay him and does he still want to be here? I think the first part is the rub for most. I can't see paying him more than maybe $25-26/mil. He will likely want $30 mil or more. The second part we will know soon enough, I figure. If the team doesn't think they can get a deal done, you gotta try and move him. Otherwise he walks and you get literally nothing.

If we trade him, may as well go full firesale.

Yeah, we probably would have gotten a decent pick. Now we are gonna get nothing. -
It's easier to blame Wilks than the 6th round draft pick that looks like a 6th round draft pick minus some of the best weapons in football. You know, the one that ESPN and other sports organizations spammed Tom Brady comparisons for? Surely it can't be that guy. fug it, it's the new DC. He sucks.
