That is sort of the classic situation. The dumb fugs that try and jam people up with these false accusations and make it harder for the 80+% of victims that get drug because of poo like that. IMO(not a hot take, have always felt this way), people that lob those false accusations are just as guilty as those that prey on others. Their shenanigans allow predators and victim blaming to have platform to defend themselves.

Hurney Magic -
1. He was not a good QB in the first place. 2. He has not played a snap in five years. 3. He mocked Cam, fug him.

Have you ever actually watched a game in the past two years? Have you ever actually watched a Panthers game at all? -

Yeah, which was.....better. Here is a fact, Rivera's all time coaching record: 0.523(0.546 in CAR) Matt Rhule: 0.303 Wow. That Rhule guy is good. You are right. He is so good he has had the worst two year start for a coach in franchise history(by a substantial margin). Superb Owl! -

Matt, log off. -
No and Yes. The No depends on the price of admission. If we trade 2-3 first round picks or some other kind of haul, it will cripple our ability to actually improve the roster for the bulk of his career here. He will take up so much money that free agency will be difficult to fix all of our many problems. The Yes is absolute. However, my rooting for him will be dependent on what the full story is with his allegations. And that is going to be dependent on if we ever actually know that. If we don't, I guess I will just get past it because I don't know. If he did do all of it(or worse), I can't see myself supporting him. If he didn't do it and it was all(or mostly) BS, no harm no foul. I'll get that jersey ordered.

Yeah, it's way better than the Darnold trade.

I like Donte too but not at the price he is likely to command.

Then put that tape on side by side with Willis versus any P5 team. I like Willis a lot. IMO, he is probably the guy I would personally take in this draft. For SURE not in the first round, though.

Have you actually looked at their career winning percentage? -

Pretty sure we have never won a scrimmage against other NFL teams or probably even against ourselves. -

Name one Matt Rhule season with more than 5 wins. I'll wait. -

At least there appears to be some logic and not panic to what we are supposedly doing. -
I was one of the few very down on the 2021 draft. I liked the 2020 draft but the 2021 draft was just so bad. We intentionally avoided starter after starter and largely took luxury or depth guys. It was maddening to watch. I hope I am wrong but I have a big fear that will be one of those drafts that will get looked back on as a big reason why a lengthy struggle ensued.

Agreed but you can't use that as the basis for Carroll being "overrated." I mean, they were the second most successful team in the NFL during his era as head coach. 8 of 12 seasons at 10+ victories, only 3 seasons with a losing record(never less than 7 wins). I am not making an argument for him being an all time great but you don't accidentally win all those games in the NFL. This isn't college football.

I love his work ethic. I think he has the mindset to be great in the NFL. But it has yet to be realized so it's just potential at this point. And the other elite CB from that draft.....played that way. So does it move the needle? TBD.

Wilson was a big part of the length of success but don't forget their SB berths were largely on the backs of having arguably the most talented roster in the NFL. Defensively amazing, maybe the best RB in the NFL.....I like Wilson but he wasn't the sole reason for their success.

I wish I could enjoy that level of positivity about the direction but I see what is pretty obviously apparent. It isn't just we the fans, you see all the anonymous quotes from other franchise employees that talk about how much of a mess we are. So for all the chaos and mayhem we see, imagine what people in their networks are hearing. If it makes you sleep better at night to ignore it, it's a free country but I think all the warning signs are there. I had a lot of hope for Rhule and I thought we were ahead of schedule after 2020 but as 2021 progressed, the truth became rather obvious.

I actually don't want Wagner. He is a "win now" piece and will either want to chase rings or a payday. Chasing rings he can't do here and I don't want expensive veterans chasing one last big payday. That's how you end up in cap hell. Ask Marty Hurney.

I don't think Carroll was overrated. I think he just didn't adjust to the current era of the NFL. Which, he's 70....that is understandable.

I don't believe that. I had Snyder vibes very early on with Tepper and I warned that was possible. The more time passes, the more I see it. Love or hate JR, he played professional football. He knew professional football. This dude.....knows absolutely nothing. Which, that doesn't mean he can't succeed but it is hard when you see him make so many Snyder/Jones-esque mistakes. I also don't believe in this roster. Our issues go well beyond just a QB and OL, although they are by far the biggest ones. The fact that our run defense has been mediocre to terrible isn't an accident. We don't have the players to make this scheme successful in that area. It's debatable if this scheme will ever be particularly successful at stopping the run. Our secondary has some hope but that is hanging by a razor's edge. If Jackson and Gilmore are gone, we are back to almost square one. Horn, who may be great and a bunch of guys that are question marks or JAGS. At safety we have Chinn but it may take him a while to be great as a well rounded safety in the NFL. And that isn't even touching the issues with our pass rushers. This isn't a complete team. It is a team that is very close to being a bottom five roster in the NFL. It wouldn't take much for it to head in that direction. It takes a lot of things going well for it to be a top 12 roster.
