I mean it does stand to reason that if you are an athletic freak, why were you not able to be productive in college? More often than not, those underperforming college freaks also end up underperforming at the NFL level. Doesn't mean you should lean towards extremely productive college guys that are insane outliers physically, obviously.

Depends on the kind of offense you are running and team you have. Winston can perform better on a team with an elite defense that can erase his mistakes(which will come). But, turnovers are also anathematic to modern NFL offenses. Winston also doesn't have any more upside. He has reached 100% of his potential as a player. He's a cannon armed, TO prone gunslinger that will make insane plays that few in the league can and he will throw INT's that will make middle school QB's blush. You'll live and die by his decisions. Bryce is a fairly ceiling limited and far less developed player. He will never be able to make the insane throws or comebacks or do any of the wild things that Winston does. He also won't be all too often heaving crippling INT's. He is a guy that can MAYBE effectively manage a game and put you in positions to win, with the right people around him and the right sort of team.

That unit was also quite bad with Derrick Brown there, not sure if you recall but he was lost while we were getting the poo kicked out of us by 37 points. Ultimately, he needs interior help. The guys we have now are JAG or JAG+ players. That will need to be remedied at some point. I agree that adding Graham doesn't help our "top pass rusher" issue, which likely won't be solved this offseason no matter what we do. However it does limit the double teams that guys like Clowney and Wonnum will see. That does help our pass rush overall. Trading back to "get another first" isn't likely to happen for the same reasons we just discussed. Outside the two QB's, which not all teams are going to have elite grades on, there isn't a lot of reason to trade into the top 5. That brings down the chances of that happening or getting this massive compensation that isn't likely to be there. I would absolutely rather have Hunter or McMillan over Graham. No question about it. But ultimately if the BPA situation is that they are gone and Graham is #4 or #5 on our board(or the general consensus) then you absolutely take the best player available. You don't overdraft a guy that might not be an elite talent out of "need." That's how we have failed so many times over and over again(see recent examples of XL or even Brooks). Don't reach for need. Play the board. Also, don't have a completely terrible board which has been a real issue with the Tepper Panthers.

CMC will never be able to make if as a slot WR in the NFL. It literally removes almost every single advantage he has. This is one of the most insane things the Huddle has ever been fixated on.

Yeah, he is just a guy that is gonna take some time to develop and it's questionable whether he will ever get there. That's the thing, we still need a #1 guy, IMO. If we see an opportunity to get an elite weapon, do so.

If Hunter or McMillan are available, you take those guys. XL is not a #1 WR. The hope is he one day becomes that. It's not a basket I would put all my eggs in, however.

This is projecting to be a very weak DE/Edge draft. Not sure there are any truly elite guys.

You never know. I think the general wear and tear that dramatically shortens RB lifespan will forever be a limiting factor in RB salaries and draft positions. I can say this, there are 35 NFL WR's with average annual values at $10 mil or more a year and 12 TE's. There are 5 NFL RB's. It damn sure hasn't changed yet.

Yeah, I heard someone say that run heavy offenses would eventually make a comeback because the pass heavy offenses have caused a lot of defenses to favor lighter, faster players that can excel in sideline to sideline coverage. Guys which tend to struggle more against a power rushing offense. The question is, if in 5+ years the league has transitioned to a more run heavy league, will RB salaries and draft positions rise to meet that? The market SHOULD adjust.

He is better rehabbing his Winston/Favre tendencies as a backup for a couple of years at successful franchises. His path to starting(and likely failing again) in Carolina would be far too short with us. TO prone gunslingers have not been in demand in the NFL for quite some time. It's not the talent that is the issue, it's the crippling TO's. If you want a QB like that, why not take the far more successful, talented and experienced Jameis Winston? For all the lionizing of Sam Darnold here, same basic thing, TO prone(his TO's/game are actually UP on the season). That's an outlier that has "worked" so far but ultimately you don't normally see TO prone QB's have long term success in the modern NFL. The margins are too small. For context, BTW: TO's Per Game Career Darnold: 1.30 Winston: 1.14 Howell: 1.28

Well he was SUPPOSED to be back over the weekend. Anderson still is our best goalie. He is just so very consistent in the regular season. Pyotr has his elite moments but also some Spencer Martin moments too.

I think Hunt and Lewis are a big part of the turnaround. You went from one of the worst IOL to easily a top 10 IOL(center is weaker, obviously). I do think our offensive coaching has improved tremendously, as well.

Yeah, minus the 2.6 goals per game we have scored in all losses including this blanking. But yeah, totally not his fault. He's really been crushing it with the(now) worst save percentage in the NHL and almost the worst GAA. Nope. He's really been crushing it.

Martin is a chemistry killer just like Raanta ended up being in the end.

Martin isn't even at career lows in GAA and save percentage. He has literally never been good at all. We have to upgrade him as our #2 goalie.

He is getting worse each game.

All is lost if Martin plays. He is absolutely terrible.
