What magic can we pull to find a receiver?
Carl Spackler replied to RIPTreyLance's topic in Carolina Panthers
Problem is, by Week 4, these lousy receivers are still gonna be "NFL open" to some, and Bryce's lack of success is gonna have them pining for Andy Dalton (at least one already is). I figured he wasn't allowed to have a rookie year but hell, he wasn't even given a rookie half. -

They were, in fact, not NFL open, or open at all. Congrats on beating A&M, that's a huge win -- but your Young bias is a bit too predictable. -

I'd like to know where I said that. I think you are the only person out here dumb enough to want the Panthers to bench their rookie QB after one game, though: or predicting 0-17: or just being a whiny bitch who "isn't as invested now as I used to be": -

Cam had PantherFanForLife Bryce has PleaseCutStewart -
Logic has no place in here, he was supposed to hit all those open WRs for big yardage and avoid all turnovers

Serious request: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rs18jn-zj0Q I'd love to know, aside from one deep ball, where all the amazing plays were supposed to originate today with no open receivers. Looked like the absolute most touchdowns he could've thrown today was 2. -

That's because you closed your eyes when the game was on. Next time, keep them open. -

lol, you'd take 3 picks and no TDs just because it's not Bryce -
He's pretty hard on himself. But you respect a guy who doesn't place blame on any of the other 52, or anyone on the staff.

Oh definitely. I'm a proponent of that establishing the offense. -

The QB and coach seem to be willing to go to battle with these JAGs, so I'd expect 35-40 passes again. Nothing I saw in the preseason made me think this would ever be a running team, and while the success of the run game shocked me big-time, I was frankly (no pun intended) shocked almost as much by the number of run plays. -
Got it in here, I just didn't keep the link the same way bc it won't display

HEAVENS TO BETSY, LOOK AT THESE WIDE-OPEN RECEIVERS

I hated giving up on the run as much as we did. If a guy is getting 6-plus yards per carry, he needs to get more than 9 carries. I wouldn't have guessed Chuba'd be the best player on offense today, but he really was. Young needs to hit on some more of his passes, but his WRs just flat-out cannot get open and, coupled with the GM and coach to an extent, set him up for failure. It's frustrating. -

It's unfortunate that Bryce overthrew Mingo on that bomb, because we weren't gonna win this game either way, but the public sentiment would've changed about 20%. As it is, can't rely on one fly route, on one try, with two rookies, to hit the first time. It is reasonable to expect it to hit on some soon, though. -

Hell, look at the start of the route, there's hesitation on his behalf as he approaches the CB. He did not think for one second that ball was coming his way -

I think we'll see a few more open guys next week, because NO will blitz more. Then we can get mad at the OL for not protecting Bryce and half the board can get mad at Bryce for missing a WR after throwing a pass while falling down -

Two turnovers in a rookie QB's debut with no WR separation isn't what I'd call disappointing. It's what I expected. He's gonna make some bad reads. He's a rookie on a bad team. He needs his WRs to get open, or get schemed open, so he gets a chance to overcome those bad reads. -

If anyone watches that video and comes away thinking "Bryce Young played like poo and he is not good," then you should seriously consider watching it a second time -- only this time open your eyes when you watch it -

I think they need to cap the damn time they spend in their caves watching film. Too much overthinking leads to no thinking at all. -

It was -- but the personnel was still asswater. Corral, for as much as I liked him, couldn't make a play. -

why does every fuging Panthers coach find a play that works early in a game, and never run it again?
