Tom Dundon: "Mr. Wadell... Tear. Down. This. Team!"

lmao I'm gonna be lining up in net before this offseason is over...

I wouldn't get my hope's up. It'll be tough watching The Ice Cream Truck drive down somebody else's neighborhood.

I'm in. Been looking to take my pops down to Spartanburg one last time before they move to Tepperworld. But, never been to fanfest.

Moton or Samuel.... would you change who got Tepper's bag?

Now, if you replace Moton's name with Erving or Elfdude, we might have a conversation. Moton is not the only player we paid this offseason. -

No there wasn't. I'm the biggest Samuel stan on here and still think we should've resigned him. But, not over Moton. That's ludicrous! -
I'm not even mad about this move on its own. As others have said, he was probably never gonna get the reps he needed to develop here anyways. The compensation was week. But, I can understand that. It's the overall pattern of behavior since Dundon has bought the team. Sure, we have finally spent to the cap on paper. But, as we have seen with countless other sports franchises, cap money vs real money can be entirely different. Every other move that the organisation has made since he took over has been all about the bottom line. Raising ticket prices, raising parking rates, changing jerseys again, changing affiliates, limiting broadcast options; doesn't matter if it makes the fan experience worse as long as it lines his already fat pockets. As soon as word came out he was lowballing RBA and the rest of the athletic staff, I knew he could give 2 shits what happens on the ice.

Trading young talented players for cheap draft picks rather than giving them veteran contracts. 1sts cost more to sign... It's a tear down. Mr. Slumlord might throw a coat of cheap paint on when he's done, but he's taking this house down to the bones. "We could probably get something for those granite countertops. Rip em out and throw some formica in." I sincerely hope Centennial Authority didn't leave any copper pipes or wiring lying around the maintenance rooms.

As long as they leave the Martyman alone, I'm cool with it. Losing Nino would hurt too, but I just think Martinook is more important to the team than people give him credit for.

Hurricanes may not resign Nedejkovic

I honestly think a deal gets done. Dumdum already caved to Chancellor Brind'Amour once this offseason. And, I hope he's not dumb enough to let a talent like Ned walk out that door. Ned is not gonna get $10million per like Vas or Price. I don't know what my ceiling would be as a GM, but if I was Ned, I'm not taking less than 5. -

The way I see it, we won the trophy. RBA just refused to accept it... -

With Dundon, it's always about being a cheap ass... Sent Kaiton packing to save a nickel. Lowballed Forslund straight to NBC. Sent the Checkers packing to make a few bucks. Picking fights with Centennial Authority bc he doesn't want to pay his rent. Got into a public pissing match with a beloved head coach and former player bc he didn't want to pay the assistant coaches and trainers. Make no mistake, it's definitely about the $$$, first and foremost, when it comes to Mr. Slumlord. Don't be surprised when Tripp's contract comes up and they replace him with some freshman intern from Wake Tech. Hell, I'd bet money that Stormy is just a handful of stray cats stuffed into the costume at this point. -

We are a perennial playoff team. I agree that we haven't seen what Ned can do in a full season yet. But, if you don't want to pay market rate, don't let a guy hit free agency. -

I count 2 goalies on that list that had better years than Ned last season. He's hitting the market at the right time. Can't hate on that. But, make no mistake, someone will pay him what he is worth if we don't. If Dundon penny pinches a Vezina level netminder out of town, I might have to tap out on this team for a bit. This new money MFer would send Gordie Howe packing if it saved him a nickel.
