  1. The Jags franchising Cam Robinson is a big deal here. They wouldn’t do that just to move him to RT. One less team likely to take an OT in the top-10. I don’t see Cross, Neal AND Ekwonu all off the board before 6. I’d imagine at least one would be available. Cross had a nice combine, FWIW
  2. Hey guys. Had a chance to catch up with Jonathan Alexander from The Observer today. Some interesting 411 from his trip to the combine, and what he’s hearing about Carolina’s plans for the draft, Watson and/or other vet QB’s, and more. Thought I would share. Appreciate the support, as always. Direct link: https://spreaker.page.link/FEwQQHHthn6QvKM76
  3. Mark Schofield joined us on Fox Sports Upstate today from the combine. Some interesting Panthers tidbits on the tail end of the interview, if you’re interested.
  4. Always interesting to speak with Darin Gantt, who offered no shortage meaningful perspective from his many years of covering the late Sam Mills, and some of the backstory behind Sam’s recent posthumous HOF nod. Plus: some 411 from his time at the Senior Bowl, where the Panthers could be leaning at QB, thoughts on Rhule’s revamped staff, and Christensen at guard? Tackle? Hope you guys enjoy. 5. I thought it was a productive chat. Thanks for posting about it, here’s the interview: https://omny.fm/shows/the-mac-attack-podcast/john-ellis-on-panthers-offseason-moves
  6. Notable that Breer, a few weeks ago on one of his halftime videos, suggested Carolina and Washington would the primary teams in play for Garrapolo.
  7. Spoke w/ Mark Schofield yesterday. Mark does great work for USA Today, particular on the film side. He suggested Garoppolo would be a good scheme fit for McAdoo in Carolina, though I didn’t necessarily see it as endorsement by Mark for Carolina actually making that move. I do think there is some validity to the buzz the Carolina might try to pursue Jimmy G, based on prior and recent reporting from Breer, this analysis by Schofield, and my own sourcing.
  8. I have no problem with BR citing our guest’s comments, but wouldn’t hate to the station properly identified. Oh, another thought, perhaps direct your readers to the actual clip? I think he fed it back through Anthony (USA Today/P-Wire). https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2022/02/12/panthers-matt-rhule-lame-duck/ I certainly appreciate Joe Person, and Jon Alexander, along w/ a few national NFL/CFP folks in our rotation (Steven Ruiz, Jordan Reid, Schofield, Farrah, Cosell, Matt Bowen). Will be bringing you more of their inside as we get closer to the draft and free agency. Thank you for letting me share some of these clips on your forum. We try to turn the audio around fast, especially for those who are out of market. Thanks again, enjoy the game tomorrow!
  9. Appreciate these guys for making time on short notice. Szoke, by the way, has been a part of every Panthers football game since...the beginning. Joe's been here, IIRC, since 2010, but knew Sam from his USFL days. He wrote a piece about Sam on Friday, interviewing John Fox, Wesley Walls, Jake Delhomme, Ron Rivera, among others. Worth your time:
  10. Had a nice chat with Joe today, including some Sam Mills stories…we will replay the entire interview later. Had an interesting take on some of the recent staffing changes:
  11. If you guys are interested in some great Sam Mills stories from the old days, you can listen via the link below in the 5 PM hour.
  12. Per Jonathan, Matt has the final word on all Panthers roster moves.
  13. Jon was a guest on my show yesterday— I thought he provided some interesting perspective on the power dynamics within that building. Still fascinating that final say on roster decisions are reportedly baked into his contract. You have to take the good with the bad, and there’s been plenty of bad, and some good. Here’s the full interview below, if you’re interested.
  14. I’ve heard Brentson Buckner’s contract has run out in AZ. Not sure if he’s renewing or not. He’d be a great choice for DLC here. He is still listed on the team website for Arizona, but who knows. Would be great to have him back in the Carolinas.
  15. Joe Brady to Chicago has been circulating for the last 24/48 hours. Would be a potential QB Coach/pass game coordinator role w/ Luke Getsy.
  16. Right. A lot has been made about this hire, but they’re going to have to find a more competent player at the position to compete, and maximize these concepts.
