  1. Yeah, I am not saying anything about Horn because what the team disclosed about his previous injuries would be season ending - foot, arm. He also isn't in any position to be making a "business decision." He has been really good when he's healthy, but he wouldn't get max $$ because of his injury history. He'll return at some point this season as the team has already said it wasn't season ending. This isn't the same as the CMC situation.
  2. I will always believe CMC made sure to "save himself" when he had injuries the two years prior to being traded. He was awesome for us and then got that bag. Once that contract was signed he didn't come back from injuries which he could have....if he had wanted to. The company line may have been the team shut him down, but CMC had no desire to be part of the dumpster fire Rhule was rolling out there. Last year he stayed healthy and had some good games for us and when we fell out of contention the decision was made to trade him. I don't disagree about trading him, but we then gave him his choice of the Rams or the 49ers. Of course he chose to go play for Shanahan in San Francisco. It all worked out so well for him and his model fiance - it was exactly what he wanted. A year later he has been tearing it up and playing hard. He got hurt last week and was back for the Vikings game. If he was still a Panther he might have been done for the season. This is my opinion and I appreciate his effort when he was here and establishing himself, but I will not be pulling for him to win a Super Bowl etc. because he dogged it until he got what he ultimately wanted. In hindsight I wish he would have just been honest when it was time to sign his big deal and told the Panthers he didn't want to be in Carolina or the East Coast. He didn't and we got some draft picks, but we lost a very dynamic player who could have helped us......he just didn't want to - at least under Rhule.
  3. Another tough one tonight. Like I said in another thread, Aho has a shoulder injury and how bad it is has been kept quiet. The guy I know who works in the building said he thought it was worse than anyone was letting on and Seabass was going to try to play through it, but after watching him tonight and him not playing center I think we need to just bite the bullet and let him heal...ever what that takes. Svech is close as his ACL wasn't completely torn and he had no other ligament/knee damage so his surgery was pretty straightforward and much less complex/invasive than a normal ACL injury, but again I don't want them to rush him back. Give him more time...at least until mid-November, just my opinion. Pesce has a hip issue and just like Aho they are keeping tight lipped about it. Pesce might not be back this season, but like most hockey players he is going to try to rehab and play through it. Just like shoulders it is hard to play through a hip injury and by playing you aren't giving it time to rest/heal. Realistically if this team didn't have Cup aspirations I think Pesce would go ahead and have it surgically repaired. Slavin's hammy is strained, but he's playing through it. It's not major, but still can't be comfortable. Freddie got his bell rung and is still in the concussion protocol. He has practiced, but he's also felt sick after practicing and is experiencing light sensitivity. Not going to rush back, going to play Koochie and Raanta. Koochie is our 1A at the moment. Last but not least, Jordan has been playing through a stiff back. It's muscle related, but he's out there trying. We got some injury issues and we are in for a tough row. I really hope the Canes take the conservative approach with all the guys and focus on getting them healthy/doing the right thing and then making a run when most of them are healthier. Aho and Pesce's injuries worry me because both are candidates for surgery. Both want to be on the ice to help the team, but when you can't play your best you are just continuing hurting yourself and the team. Pesce is really not happy since it's a contract year, I feel bad for him. Let's hang in there and support our guys. It's been a long time since we have been THIS banged up. #LetsGoCanes
  4. About time @ellis @EllisRadio80 popped in and said hello. I think you've been pretty fair about things, a little more positive than I am at this point. We are on the same page about Bryce.....way too early to judge what he's going to be. I think your torching of the defense is warranted and I really think you should hold Burns's feet to the fire more than you do. I mean the guy is asking for $30M+ - do you think he deserves that much?
  5. Realistically he shouldn't have blitzed 6 in that situation, but by no means was he the cause of the 49ers losing tonight.
  6. Can you please show me the way....divorced, single dad of 4 struggling with life. Appreciate it!
  7. We aren't getting anything of value for either Donte or CJ. If we trade them who plays CB? We are seriously one of, if not the most, depleted team in the NFL.
  8. From what I heard Aho has a banged up right shoulder. I don't like to hear about banged up shoulders and players trying to play through those injuries, hope it's not too bad as it can really bring a guy's game down a notch or two of what they can do.
  9. I think we've already seen Purdy's ceiling and Shanahan knows it. He has looked average the last 3 games and is a game manager as @LinvilleGorgepointed out, nothing more and nothing less. Without CMC, Deebo, Kittle, Aiyuk he is a career backup at best.
  10. The problem we have is players sandbag their way out of Carolina the last 2-3 years. No one can tell me CMC gave 100% to being available to play for the Panthers after he got that sweet contract and hooked up with his model fiance....they both wanted out of Carolina for the West Coast. I think Burns is not happy about his contract and he is sandbagging a little too, not totally, but he isn't going 100% every down. It's really a bad situation, good players don't want to play here. We can trade for a solid WR and when his contract is up he'll jet. In all honesty, two years ago we could have re-signed Reddick and Gilmore and our defense would be miles better than what it is. Reddick made Burns better and Gilmore made our secondary better. We opted not to and see where we are now. It sucks and we are not somewhere players want to be.
  11. The 49ers better be completely healthy if they are going to the Super Bowl. Last week against Cleveland showed everyone what they needed to know about the 49ers and Purdy, and that is without all of those nice offensive weapons they are beatable. It looks like if Philly gets it together they are the best team in the NFC. Detroit laid an absolute egg at Baltimore today and were exposed, the NFC South doesn't have a team that can make it out of the divisional round. The AFC is more interesting overall with the Chiefs, Ravens, Bills, Dolphins and I won't count out a healthy Bengals team.
  12. NFL "clean pocket" = not having defenders arms/bodies in the way of the QB's throwing motion. Bryce needs to learn to step up in the pocket instead of moving laterally. Our offensive line also needs to learn how to provide that opportunity more often as well.
  13. Hopefully less stacked formations to one side of the field unless you are going to drag a TE across into open space. I can't stand seeing three WRs/TEs within 5-10 yards of each other on pass plays.
  14. The return will decide this - two firsts may well get it done due to the state of the team and Spooderman wanting the Brinks truck backed up. I'd say 69%.
  15. How much did the refs fug Indy today?? One of those guys had their retirement fund on Cleveland outright.
  16. Just pure speculation - Diggs has always been a gifted receiver, but if he doesn't get passes thrown his way he becomes a whiner.
  17. Someone told Diggs they were talking about trading him to Carolina. He is playing better today and so far not yapping as much.
  18. His accuracy on deep throws hasn't been great, but you can't say the handful of times he's actually had a clean pocket and realistic time to throw projects to him having no accuracy at all. I wish some people would give him more than 6 games especially due to our O-line and the WRs/TEs he is working with.
  19. It was a tongue in cheek reply, but there have been times when I have seen TMJ and Mingo look like they don't know the routes they are supposed to run or how to adjust (sit down in a zone, or know they are the "hot" route) to the defense. Same thing applies to our TEs. Thielen is an NFL WR with the experience. Maybe Mingo can get there, I don't think TMJ cares enough to.
  20. Could be because he knows the routes he's supposed to run.
  21. Hearing we are getting close to a deal with the Montreal Alouettes for WR Austin Mack, DB Marc-Antoine Dequoy, 4 bowls of poutine, and 2 $20 (CAD) gift cards to Tim Horton's. Source: Pierre LeBrun who usually covers hockey.
  22. I had to turn it off after that 6th goal. I hope the guys play better in the 3rd, but this isn't a good hockey team right now. RBA is stubborn and until he and Gleason come to their senses about Orlov needing a Defensive D partner and TDA sitting out for Chatty this isn't going to get better. Good night fellas, I'll take a couple shots of whiskey for y'all.
  23. as much as Koochie deserves some criticism, our defense has more holes than the Moonlight Bunny Ranch. Gotta plug 'em all!
