This guy took such an amazing pounding there its a wonder he didn't retire.

Has the trade for Sam Darnold changed your outlook on the 2021 season?

All these naysayers will be Darnold fans early next season. Get a LT early and keep building that defense and we are looking good. -
Panthers sign Former XFL lineman Martez Ivey
Shocker replied to Gipetto's topic in Carolina Panthers
@Varking? Got any comments on Ivey? He any good? -
Yeah cuz executives always check with staff before making decisions

I think I would probably keep Teddy as well. If someone’s starter goes down he will look really good to a team later.
-
When I see a team letting a player look for trades it almost always means they will cut him. 20 m dead cap?
-
If I am going to be completely realistic here Teddy was better than Darnold by a good amount last season. He will have to improve bigtime to be a good starter for us. The turnovers are very concerning with him. This trade should not take us out of the QB market in the draft either if Fields drops to 8.
-
Sam will have to learn to take care of the ball. He had turnover problems back to college. However, the Jets were atrocious on offense. OL terrible, weapons really pedestrian and the coaching was just bad. He played from behind like all the time.
-
If Darnold was coming out of USC in this draft he would go top 5. I don’t doubt this for 1 second either. The draft definitely rewards the unknown in these QBs.
-
I think we will trade down to be honest. OL will almost certainly be addressed with our first pick regardless.
-
When he turns out to be a player here this move will look genius.
-
He is 23 and what he cost us was really pretty low if are better next year. I understand he has been poor so far but what if this guy ends up being good? He has some talent he just needs some success.
-
This really isn't a bad trade although I would like to have kept the second. Cheap price for a young QB on a rookie deal. Have to get him avoid turnovers. Damn that #8 is wide open now!

PFF grade on throws past first read since 2019
Shocker replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you hit your first read at almost 80 percent of the time that is a good thing. This is really overblown in Fields case IMO.
