This Illinois/SC game has some horrific refs. At least replay finally allowed Illinois a TD.
-
Illinois just got screwed big time. All the way down to the 1 and a “fumble” at the goal. Everyone watching replay agrees it’s either a TD or he is down at the 1….and the refs still give SC the ball/touchback. refs in save the SEC mode early

It’s not team. It’s offense around the QB. Which isn’t just WRs in a vacuum. And New England is worse. And there are several in the ballpark. again, Bryce has the most expensive OL in the NFL. They are good. He has a legit RB to hand it off to. That’s ideal foundation you want every QB to have. New England is worse overall. Raiders presently. Cardinals comparable. then you have teams that hit windows where injuries make windows worse around the QB. When Mike Evans went out for month Tampa wasn’t better around the QB. Present day Saints aren’t better around the QB.

We Need More Pacific Islanders on this Team

I endorse doing anything that isn't what we have been doing. -
I think some of these guys are just being dumb. I would get leaving early if there wasn't money in college football. I mean, are Ewers, Beck, Milroe and all the dudes running off to the NFL really much better than the Cade Klubniks? Cade probably going to make comparable money to their NFL checks this year or better.....and gets to sit and try to work on being a legit draft prospect. I mean Cade could of left to be an UDFA or some random we just like you late rounder too.
-
just seems more athlete than QB. Which is my favorite type of college QB in reality. But not the pros.
-
probably should of been picked though right before it. I wouldn't want nothing to do w/ Milroe in a NFL draft it is wasn't mid round.

I mean, props to SC for having a good season and surprising folks. Don't get me wrong. It was a good year. And I have always been pro Beamer despite the poo talk. But the narrative was gassed up at the end just like it was for all SEC to an extent. I mean, the team that finished the season was talked about like they thumping teams on the head to close out the year. SC squeaked by Clemson in the closing minute to win an ugly game. They squeaked by Mizzu in the closing seconds to win another. And they looked meh for a half against Wofford. That was the end of their season. Talking heads were talking like SC was putting folks teeth on the curb. Everyone terrified of them. Gassed up. Everyone on the cusp out there overselling. But that's the name of the game I guess. SEC benefits from having ESPN sell them.

ESPN flat out doing embarrassing work this year for the SEC and Colorado. ESPN basically Fox News/CNN of sports. Herbstreit went from loved to rightfully viewed as a clown this year. But that's what you get when you become a shill.
-
no no no. The 6th best SEC team is better than the best of every other conference. SEC just built different!
-
I mean, that basically what they have set out to end though. That's never what NIL was pimped to be. It's just a one way check to play via an outside booster of the school in reality. I think the collective is fine given where we find ourselves. They just need to probably have different tiers of football. Tier 1 with the 20 mil collectives. Then another tier w/ schools with a much smaller collective. and think it eventually needs to sort itself out that if Clemson wants to pay The Citadel to come play a game.....I don't think they count those wins anymore. Only wins from your collective tier should count. I don't know, I change my mind every day. I think they ruined college football largely. It was always flawed but now it's just dumb.

remember, he actually only had Mike Davis in reality. A random journeyman RB. CMC effectively out the whole season. Basically everyone around him was some variant of a NFL JAG minus DJ Moore. That was Curtis' best season in the NFL w/ Teddy. That was Robbie's only 1000k season. people turned hard on Teddy and actually sided w/ Rhule at the time. Teddy in reality, was one of the few things they did right. He was actually the perfect bridge QB and get the team right QB. He just couldn't keep quiet Rhule and company were lacking NFL basics....and he said it as nice as possible.

at the conclusion of this year we likely finish as: 32nd D 31st O So whatever we do, we will be building off that. I don't know what we will be, but I would guess it will be the vast range of of the non-playoff teams. So we basically went from the 32nd O to the 31st O this year. That's the big change we pulled off while getting worse elsewhere.
-
we threw Teddy in the trash ONLY because was the first to pry the door open to the dysfunctional world of Matt Rhule. Teddy allowed the O to function. And pretty well. Tons of guys had career years that season. Pretty good ball between the 20s. Team just wasn't doing so many of the basics in practice to finish the job on the field. Like actually working on the redzone and stuff like that. Matt Rhule didn't like the fact Teddy outed he was bad at his job. Teddy got fired for that. Not his play.
-
Lions got a kid that took some time. Williams really coming together. but yeah, in today's NFL, WRs basically are hitting way earlier than the old days. By year 2, you generally know.
-
Yeah, but see....those random throws don't make him not Teddy two gloves. Because Teddy two gloves had those random throws too that went against his norm. I think if Bryce turned into Teddy B the passer....we should be happy. Not mad. Because Bryce adds to that a better aspect with his slipperiness and legs.
-
I never got Mingo. I at least see the path for XL
-
yeah, sort of lost in this recent XL bash session.....some really great use of his body too by about midway into the season. Lot of Micheal Irvin type praise. people also forget these first seasons are long for a rookie. He is also banged up. Generally, they are used to having their feet up weeks ago.
-
O MVP 1. Hubbard 2. The OL 3. AT D MVP 1. Jewell 2. Horn I really don't think there is a D MVP. I think Jewell just deserves some praise though for sort of standing out. ST MVP Abstain. *new award CPOY Bryce Young - he climbed out of the pits of hell that no one thought possible. Still not impressive QB play but he climb out of that was impressive.

I know Megatron cooked Clemson bad one year.
-
a true nightmare. Defending the triple option is already a gigantic pain the rear. Then randomly having Megatron just standing there able to go deep at anytime is just insane while you fixate on that run scheme.
-
to an extent, he also suffers a bit of what Bryce suffers from. Bryce is 1000% judged off the fact he was #1 overall, we traded away draft picks, gave up DJ Moore and others look better than him. Some drastically. we made XL a 1st round pick. He realistically was a 2nd. And folks see other WRs that are actually in great situations like Ladd. Mingo. TMJ. Samuel. All recent 2nd round picks. Rookie XL has more production than all 3 of them combined. So, he probably is judged harsher than he should be
-
well, the NFL is all about fit. Where you land matters. Everyone isn't going to grow and succeed the same regardless of which of the 32 draft them. When we drafted XL.....I this year wouldn't be great because he doesn't fit with Bryce. random guy can land at team X and fade away. Same kid could go to team Y and thrive. goes back to my whole vision thing. Under Tepper we have been a team of random parts and people put together. That's IMO why we have stunk so bad. If Bryce stays, then I think XL will have been a horrible pick. But that's not hindsight on my part. I always thought they would pair poorly. Bryce rebounding wasn't in my plans. I don't think Tepper and Dave thought it either.
