Baker found his way to Carolina and had him playing DE in practice. Obviously a different staff. But the biggest issue in Carolina has been the brain trust trio of our owners, GM, coaches. and there is PLENTY of evidence that his current trio, is mindboggling bad at basics. I do not believe in Hooker but I won't judge him and use Canales' decision-making as a reason not to believe in him.
-
Name a QB as bad as Bryce who had their 5th picked up? You certainly can name better ones who didn't have it picked up.
-
I refuse to judge Hooker because the coach who couldn’t figure out the C position coming into the season or the Rico situation in season…..opted not to play him over a guy that shouldn’t of even been rostered coming into this season. Because that implies we have sound decision makers. Which we don’t.
-
He is terrible on the scale of NFL QBs…..but what about the Panther scale. And on that scale, PJ Walker likely is better than everyone rostered right now lol
-
Dalton is old with a messed up hand. Same injury let Bryce sneak back in after they moved on from him last year. Unlike other injured players, Dalton wasn’t on the sideline all day using the injured hand
-
Eyeball test never aligns with that they say about an “injured” Bryce. Find a limp or a day where he was off his feet either year. for whatever reason they shelved him for a week. Plenty of QBs this season alone have played on grade 1 sprains and looked worse than Bryce. They are good though
-
Dalton reportedly got injured on the opening possession vs the Bills. Thumb on throwing hand.
-
Dalton injured his thumb on the first series vs the Bills reportedly. Which basically means he most likely injured his throwing hand on the 3rd snap of the game/first called pass.
-
Why not? Our starting QB logs similar outings all the time.
-
high ankle sprains generally keep you out for multiple weeks. Bryce is the oddity, not JJ.
-
2023 and 2025 "injuries" looked like clear choices by the coaching staff simply not to play Bryce for the week under the defense of "injury". Both times Panthers have had him up on his injury the entire time he was hurt with no signs of it being anything outside of standard wear and tear. Everyone is banged up. Why? Who knows.

Why hasn't DC's suspected change on the RBs been highlighted here?
CRA replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
What the the odds they basically just take the script from the last 2 weeks and reverse it? That Rico just gets trotted out first and it's still just a committee. Because when Rico went wild the carries were 23 vs 4 and 30 vs 4. I do not believe Dave Canales is going to take essentially his offensive captain/leader in Hubbard and essentially bench him pending Rico isn't just gassed and asks to come out. -
When folks predicted a 6 win season for him…..the wins were early in the schedule and exactly here we got them. So where they came doesn’t hold crazy weight describe the Panthers offense in one word to for the collective 6 games Rico Dowdle didn’t start and have anomaly production in……anything that isn’t a adjective for bad would by lying. we have gotten the doors blown off off us by every actual good team. also you can win less games one season to another and actually be getting better and vice versa. The eyeball test says Canales isn’t getting better. Technically our D is better this year but that is more a default given we were historically bad last year

Renfrow is really a 1 of 1 on the roster. He isn't a natural fit for Dave's O or Bryce (given Bryce can't stand tall in the pocket and slice up folks with quick hitters). Renfrow wanted to stay home and prove he could comeback. He did it. From a fit standpoint, Renfrow probably could be pretty dang solid somewhere....but he has zero interest in leaving the area again. He doesn't look washed at all to me. He looks like a horrible fit. But I think he just really wanted to scratch the itch in his backyard one last time.

On paper. And not just Evans. You can go to Seattle too. Him not panning out doesn’t mean the narrative and how he projected didn’t fit at draft time. I only endorsed drafting XL if we were moving on from Bryce Young soon and said at the time XL would stink until we officially moved on from Bryce. They don’t fit the same offense. If you were going to stick with Bryce, Ladd made more sense. But Ladd also doesnt fit what Dave does
-
XL fit the Canales tree of what you want in a WR David Tepper isn't out there making all these moves.
-
Yep, a washed Dalton and Bryce are the same tier QB. But yeah, Andy had a day that Bryce routinely has. 2 Rico games really distorted things for some
-
Oh, I think Canales had to "try" Bryce. That lasted 2 games. They moved on. The fact the QB room was built so poorly allowed the "comeback". Now, this season, we had the same QB room issue only Dalton is much worse. Dan Morgan was Fitterer's right hand man. I still don't get the mental gymnastics of Dan somehow was secret against all the bad moves and Bryce. and I 10000% think the GM's office sold Bryce Young to Tepper and won out over Frank (they had more and louder voices). Dan was part of it. I know Tepper takes mistakes on the chin and moves on. We all know that. I disagree with the notion our QB room is what it is because of Tepper.....it's got to be more Morgan than anyone
-
Dan Morgan is the GM. Dan Morgan is also part of the brain trust that drafted Bryce and handicapped this org by doing such. We know it's easy for Tepper to admit mistakes. He does it over and over and over and over again. We don't know that about Dan. Sure seems when Bryce rose from the dead it cause Dan Morgan to make some really bad decisions. I think Tepper is a convenient boogeyman people morph to suit narratives. Does he create issues w/ his impatience? 1000%. David Tepper doesn't triple down on mistakes. For all his flaws, Tepper isn't stubborn. He admits mistakes probably too quickly. Tepper seemed to greenlight moving on last year 2 games in if they wanted it.
-
I think Tepper actually does listen to folks he hires. I think he hires bad people. Nothing about David Tepper says he digs on mistakes and refuses to acknowledge them. At this point, I think the Bryce issue falls more on Dan Morgan than anyone. It was his job to fix the QB room for this season.

Mike Evans made Johnny Football a first round draft pick.

a few coaches have liked all sorts of players that were horrible. NFL is not full of geniuses. It's a good ole boy network of football guys.
