OFFICIAL Week 1: Panthers @ Jaguars Game Day Thread
CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Will be interesting to see if Canales adjust to the difference of AT in the slot vs Renfrow. Renfrow needs shorter routes and the ball on him quick IMO -
SC State basically just shouldn’t punt lol. If they just went for it every down it might be a tight game. I knew the SC OL was a problem but SC State highlighting it is a tad concerning. At least the Gamecock fans won’t be able to talk poo all week about Clemson’s first half. Everyone on both sides going to be real quiet

Took a ST return to get the Gamecocks finally up on the board vs SC State. 7-3 as the half nears. Weird week
-
Lot of meh games this week for ranked teams….yet a lot of “good” teams struggling when they supposed to be thumping dudes UGA pretty meh. Clemson was just gross. FL, SMU taking Ls.

I’m open to that witchcraft being possible.

I think it makes perfect sense, the NFL did a mini blackball for Bill. Which was lead by Kraft. Bill was forced into college. He wants to be in the NFL Bill is telling Kraft fug you with his Patriots ban. Which the pettiness sort of makes Bills selling of why you should come play for a him a tad hypocritical. Given its supposed to be in part NFL connections to the league and he has banned an org from UNC

Renfrow got 2 nattys in college. Renfrow got the same # of Pro Bowls in a fraction of the time. they are an apples and oranges comparison but I’d take Renfrow career if I had to pick -

The Browns game was a not a game that should make any human feel positive about any aspect of our team -
Plays into my theory Bill is only in college football because he was not going to let Kraft/NFL blackball and end his coaching career. So he is opting for a legacy hit by being a bad college coach because everyone is petty and childlike to various degrees.

Well….thats a pretty proven way of life to date. Just sayin. Bryce is 1-14 on the road as a NFL QB. Most signs point the other way this week -

You might draft an elite slot and elite nickel corner that high though? Slot is all I see him as. it’s also a passing league that has seen a shift with all the 2 high S looks being overplayed. I wouldn’t have drafted him. I don’t think he was good enough at either spot to go that high. You are forced into some dual position gymnastics that probably go away after a year or so -

not sure. Also saw reports he showed rapid improvement after OTAs. Slot generally sees weaker coverage. I could see his athleticism being enough vs a lot of teams. given we about to trot out our D that make Sheduer look good…..I’m not confident enough in them to knock Hunter today -

I think he projects well in slot -

I think if Hunter can be the Tee Higgins to BTJ.....it offers a higher ceiling overall for the Jags than if he was just a good corner. Good corners overall are just that. They don't really translate to wins by themselves. -

I think he would just be my starting WR and then at MOST make him a dime package DB for those very rare looks in big moments. Jags already got a decent slot DB -

2013 and 2014 still featured NFCS Championships, top 10 defenses and postseason appearances both years. While a playoff winning team in 2014 didn't have a good regular season in terms of wins, the Panthers had been on top of the division for a couple years heading into 2015. It wasn't a surprise we could be the best in the division or make the postseason in 2015. The surprise was the undefeated streak and final record. -

I don’t know….2002 featured one of the greatest defensive turnarounds of all time. Doesn’t feel like we are about to unveil the #2 D in the NFL. -

Sure, but we know this pass game is not likely what should be emphasized early. Meh preseason, youth/new, big WR shake up going in, and out your left tackle. so a winnable week 1 game should be Hubbard heavy IMO. -

I want Hubbard to have like 25 carries. 4 of our 5 wins were basically the result of Hubbard being the primary cog of the O. That’s how we win. I don’t need Canales thinking week 18 is where he and Bryce needs thier heads -

the real question with most sports teams often, is who believes in who. generally speaking, in house, there isn't always agreement on things.....but decisions get made and company lines get trotted out.
