  1. I mean, I don't know what the plan has really been any season post Ron/Cam. Carolina says all sorts of nonsense. It hasn't been matching up. So I'm not sure you can expect people to take some offseason talk as some real vision plan at this stage given what these folks have been doing.
  2. see, I think this is back to getting caught up in our reoccurring issue. The whole rebuilding yet win now team approach we have been every season since Tepper bought the team. What are we. We need young WR talent. Heck, we need offensive skill talent. This is the draft to add it. and if you want to land good vets down the road and not overpay? Well, the first thing to being attractive is a successful and good offensive outlook. It's an offensive league. Folks got to start thinking they can come here and win. I just think young offensive talent should be the focus. Even if the D goes backwards in the short term.
  3. I think he was referencing some of those bleak pictures from games last year at the end. The type games Thomas Davis was sleeping through. I mean, I can't stand the dude. I did chuckle at him helping us out in that pic though.
  4. I'd like us to draft a WR or even two in a deep WR class. We need long term solutions. I'd rather spend the remaining FA money in the trenches.
  5. Well, we don't have a slot. That's like calling Miles Sanders a receiving RB. You can throw him the ball. He can catch it. But that's not what he is. Theilen isn't a good slot WR. We just play him there. He is slow. He has zero YAC. I mean, I'm a firm believer if you want to play football with Bryce Young....rec RB, TE, and slot are the big 3 key spots you have to have for him. And you need really good players there. Mike Williams is older. He is a short term rental. Why would signing him or Dionte Johnson who likely a one and done move.....prevent us from actually attempting to solve our massive WR hole in the big picture. this is a deep and good WR class and we need WRs.
  6. I mean, this one is sort of funny after the back and forth about how we got no fans in the stadium OP somehow leaving Cam Jordan out of the call out. He is the one that got Merriman started. Division rivals just straight up clowning us out in the open. That's the bigger diss.
  7. why? Bryce Young is our QB. That's not his style. Mike has largely made his living in SD on deeper routes and only being NFL open. Bryce IMO complicates everything.
  8. a Texas WR and Leggette back to back in the draft?
  9. I didn't want to go overboard and do too much.
  10. If Luke Combs wants to talk poo....he better not do it on McAfee. He better log onto the huddle so we can give him tons of pie for the same comment.
  11. Let's trade for Tee Higgins, sign Mike, sign Renfrow. Then in the draft snatch up Will Shipley. then, let's bring freaking Clipboard Jesus out of retirement. It will be our 2023 Joe Flacco moment but better given Charlie Whitehurst never really played. Fire Canales midseason and bring in Dabo! All in, baby!!!!
  12. Luke Combs is probably a huddler. I'm going with iplayedCaminMadden
  13. I mean, he ain't wrong. Any hype around Canales or Morgan at this current stage....is just true fandom willing to block out some basics we wouldn't be doing for any of the other 31 teams.
  14. He really didn't have a great year. He just had 137 targets. If you look at the top 100 players in receiving yards.....Theilen had the worst production per reception by any WR. He presents the threat of a TE with hands.
  15. Renfrow is good or bad depending on your scheme, QB and what you want to do on O. Hard for us to know if he would even fit here given we got no clue what our HC is going to attempt with Bryce. a Tom Brady would have destroyed folks w/ Renfrow though
  16. and going to Adam Theilen in the pass game is also why our offense posed virtually no threat to opposing defenses. Theilen is a weak receiving TE with good hands IMO in terms of what he is giving you and threatening opponents with.
  17. that's just coaching/scheme decisions largely. Renfrow is only going to work in an O that wants to take advantage of that type slot play. I mean, you can go listen to NFL players speak on him on all these player podcast. Renfrow is a unique beast. Just a very specific specialist. He isn't going to hold the same value for all 32 coaches.
  18. I mean, AT isn't what you actually want out of the slot position if you are going w/ heavy pass looks. He is slow, doesn't get open, I think ESPN analytics had him at 132 in terms of his YAC ability vs the field.
  19. Hunter Renfrow is one of the best pure slot players in the game. But you got to want to run that type game like a Tom Brady did in NE.
  20. Johnson is 100% by far the best WR. He is WR #1. Theilen already is our slot WR. We made that our #1 WR spot in our bad O last year. He shouldn't be. Theilen should be our #4 Rickly Proehl off the bench for big pass downs. Mingo should be trying to develop into reliable enough to work the slot where Theilen was. My dream would be Johnson as the # 1 , draft a Leggette or someone to play opposite of Johnson on the outside. Mingo working the slot. Theilen comes in on big downs or big pass downs looks like a Proehl. I mean, he has hands. That's basically all he has. * Raiders cut Renfrow. Sign him for cheap and let him teach Mingo how to play the slot. I mean, if you value true slot play, Renfrow does it as good as anyone. Let him take up a TMJ/ISM roster spot.
  21. a 2nd round C isn't a solution for 2024. Not saying we shouldn't draft one. But you got to assume that's a developmental pick when we make it no matter the round. I think outside of WR/RB or LB/Edge player.....it's really hard to expect too much from most rookie positions in year 1.
  22. that's also a different era. lot of that the team greatly disliked 89 and we had the leadership to deal largely with the headache. I think in addition to a lack of dawgs....we have a lack of leadership. Morgan is going to have to solve that part of the puzzle too.
  23. in an ideal world, we essentially make Theilen the unhappy WR. He is historically a bit whiney too and got the ball way too much last year.
  24. I think he wants the ball. And unlike Pitt who had an emerging Pickens (that times up with his unhappiness)....he will be far and away the best WR rostered here. So we should give him the ball. I do not see him being a happy camper not getting the ball a lot. He is playing for a new deal/team in reality this year.
  25. TMJ is done IMO. I don’t view Canales as water into wine coach. He simply walked into a team that had featured a good WR duo for some time and had vet QB play. We need to move on. Our WR corp can’t be the same plus Diontae. Hope Mingo is putting in a lot of work. Got to think a new offense in year 2 isn’t going to be ideal for him to make huge strides in year 2. He starts over to a degree. Like Theilen, Mingo was a bit force feed. While his numbers aren’t great I think both Mingo and Theilen looked better on the stat sheet than they actually did on the field last year
