TX/OSU had no offense. LSU/Clem had no offense. No watch Beck channel Cam Ward and have some insane passing day since this was viewed as the least hyped top 10 matchup

Gamecock fans going to be hard to handle until October gets here. They could flirt with a real high ranking by the end of Sept. Path seems there to flirt with a top 5ish spot Not sure that combo of Shula playcaling+ that OL + no Rocket is going to work in October though. Sellers going to have to be Cam I think in terms of what is asked of him and that body

What about a catch in the middle of the field? You do you want them to maintain control as they fall? Thats the catch? Having different rules for the endzone vs everywhere else. *I’m not arguing one way vs the other. But a catch has to be universal rules IMO regardless of location of play
-
Yeah, identical call to last night. Which is the rule. They shouldn’t be TDs given the rule is the rule. Announcers in both games doing all they can to get the fans mad though…as both games the announcers seem to basically disregard and play dumb about the catch rules.

Shula is a great hire if you are the Gamecocks. College is college. Shula will use him like a college team should

I do think those that think Renfrow and AT are essentially the same are going to be either really mad or really happy. Renfrow will not go out there and do what AT did. I think folks happiness will come down to what Canales ask Renfrow to do in the O.
-
I think it sets up to be sorta similar to last year. Hard to imagine the O is going to ready to be near whatever ceiling it will eventually have. Young WRs, chemistry lacking, and all that gotta be worked out. Canales isn’t really a creative guru so it’s really just going to be on them to get better and up to speed. but the schedule is rather favorable the first quarter or so. in the end I think they sort of progress similar to last season. D a constant. O goes from weak to meh to sorta okay….but the pass game will be asked to do too much and won the ready for that ask.

I agree you don’t who is what this early… and while I don’t think he will be the best college quarterback….Sellars is really the only one as you look to the next draft who I think really has the tools that make you think be might be special at the next level as of right now.

The point was, largely it was cool to be critical of select players all off season (XL) and not be questioned about your fandom, being negative…..but select folks react different if done to Bryce. and if XL had an army of defenders (which he didn’t) there would be plenty of “derailment” as you say. But people largely accepted you should be able to be critical of XL. Therefore the good and bad were BOTH largely accepted convo. I have no clue about your joke analogy. Racist jokes suck. Jokes about race can be funny. I do know some people view it all as the same thing.

Well, Clemson just couldn’t afford to lose their #1 WR that early in the game. overall, thoughts are generally the same. This season was going to come down to two things….can they run the ball and stop the run. I thought the D was actually okay enough. Cade going to catch the heat but…. It’s the run game. Lead RB had 5 carries (9 RB carries overall) in a game that was tied 10-10 in the 4th. Cade ain’t that good enough to carry a game like that and be out in that spot. still think they will figure out the run but that was the worst part of a tough week 1 matchup. Zero time to figure that weakness out Clemson can afford that loss. It’s a an ACC championship world for the ACC primarily

I’d say the real difference of the first half, Dabo is better than Kelly and that’s why the score is what it is at the half way mark. not loving the new Clemson D coordinator. No creativity to this D. Big loss losing their #1 WR Antonio Williams that first drive for Clemson but at least they are super deep at WR. Clemson needs one of these RBs to emerge. They got to find someone that can run the ball this year

Dear eight-pound, six-ounce, newborn infant Jesus, who doesn't even know a word yet—little infant, so cuddly but still omnipotent….you know them fools in Columbia ain’t gonna know how to act if they in the top 10

I’m sticking with my prediction…while many start clutching their pearls if certain players are talked about…it’s been generally cool for the board to poo all over XL with glee. I still think that’s always been the dude for 2025 IMO. XL has the biggest play potential of anyone in our camp. And now is the lone wolf in terms of having any resemblance of game day chemistry with Bryce. (I don’t count Moore) so, to me, XL will be the dude early this season that makes or breaks things ultimately. Can this team find a way to feature him early and get the ball in his hands

Who pulls for Bama though?
-
Upset alert!! Overrated SEC team in trouble vs ACC team
-
Guess that’s how you know he is Cooper’s son. And the others are his uncles
-
Couple nice throws by Arch that drive. Best he has looked
-
This is the window where it’s hard to judge what is good defense vs bad offense. Ohio State gotta a pretty different group out there on D vs last year but it’s also Ohio State so that roster is slammed also, these big games so early stinks because they will be different teams later on. This what, Arch’s second career a start?? I remember when Trevor went undefeated at Clemson and took down what was billed as the possibly greatest college football team in Bama of all time (pending Bama won that game). Trevor destroyed them for that natty. Why do I bring that up? Trevor Lawerence was ass the first couple games season. Arch gonna need some time to be whatever he will be…even whatever he will be this season

AT was basically Greg Olsen-ish for Bryce. In so many ways. He was keeping stuff on right page and really more of small TE than actual slot WR out there. Canales isn’t going to be able to just insert Hunter into that role on the O that AT was doing. Hunter is a true slot WR. And a niche one at that. Might take some time to try to figure out plays/calls really insert Renfrow into. Thats not really Canales’ base what Hunter does so well

Coker a huge loss. Got to think that was the most reliable target week 1
-
Justin Jefferson would look bad if I was throwing balls to him. preseason game issue clearly a bad QB issue. Multiple hospital balls and throws to wrong routes

Observer Projections / *Updated Panthers Waiver Additions
CRA replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
In 2024 the Panthers only had the 25th highest run ratio. We were very pass heavy when we ran our O. Biggest issue is we were SUPER inefficient on offense last year. We ran the fewest offensive plays. Horrible on 3rd down. 28th pass completion %. Bryce lead the league in bad pass %. Hard to get those numbers up when you are that inefficient overall as an O. -
I think the college targeting rule (or really the punishment) is the worst in all of sports. I’d didn’t see these hits but ejection for simply any hit that meets the definition of targeting is just too harsh for me.

Yep. GT with 3 straight turnovers and then backed up on the 1 for the start of the 4th series. Colorado blew the gifts overall
-
GT with 3 fumbles last year. 2 already tonight and making life easy for Colorado. Neither forced.
