  1. he doesn't have the arm to make all the throws, the premier QBs make. That's a fact. So there are plays that won't exist for him that will for others. To act like every QB in the NFL can make all the same throws isn't a stance anyone actually takes.....yet folks are doing it for Bryce.
  2. Because 2 coaches have not allowed him to do it. And in a real Hail Mary scenario the throw is further than the clip shown and likey doesn’t allow a clean setup. You can’t go over the top. So you have to let WRs get downfield and the technical throw is going to be further and as you have to drop back to by time and likely won’t have an ideal setup.
  3. I remember one of Aaron Rodgers big hail marys was caught by the son of a Panthers coach. Rodgers. A TE. Hail marys are that. They aren't thrown to Tyreek Hill burning a DB. They are jump ball scrums to piles of humans. We got dudes to pull off that simple play....just not the QB to get it there.
  4. I think some choose to give oxygen and attention to bad tiny voices. Pretending those tiny voices are the collective voice is whack. That's my take and it extends to all topics. Cam Newton is my GOAT. I called for PJ Walker over Sam Darnold. Bryce Young has been about as unsuccessful as any top QB in the NFL history...and THAT is why the masses talk about him.
  5. Aaron Rodgers is 41 years old and with relative ease put one up 70 yards in the air last night for hail mary atttempt. 50 yards out and we have to bring in backup or run screen pass to Tommy Tremble
  6. I'm at least in the running for Bryce's biggest hater. I was stanning for Cam before it was cool, he is my all time GOAT. Cam is how I got my kids into football. Most Bryce's haters are me. And to pretend otherwise, and try to make that the convo.... is whack. pretending some small horrible voices that don't deserve oxygen is what is "really going on" is whack.
  7. I'll be honest, Dave went to such great coaching efforts to get us in position for the hail mary attempt I was actually sort of excited to see what Bryce had in him. I felt for sure Dave was going to flat out get that debate settled. I mean, how could he not. And then.......all that for a Tommy Tremble screen lol.
  8. Frank and Canales have both told everyone Bryce can't throw the hail mary.
  9. lol, how do you lecture folks about not watching games and then not know about Bryce being taken out for a hail mary? and yeah, Cam got subbed out because the coach knew he didn't have the arm for it. That's what coaches do when you don't have the arm for it.
  10. I also wouldn't say Bryce has a stronger arm than them. Arm strength probably on par.....but Burrow just a vastly superior passer than both of them. Jalen obviously one of the premier QBs on the ground. Then we have our guy.....who doesn't actually have a trait that makes him stand out.
  11. that's a wild statement. Bryce had the most expensive OL in the NFL last year and it was healthy. With a solid backfield. Which is what every QB wants.
  12. Cam would put a towel on his head when things were going great. Towel was largely a media thing. It existed no matter what was happening. I actually loved the fact Cam was such a horrible loser. I hated everyone seemed so fixated on making him a good loser. That was part of of what made him tick. Bad w/ the good.
  13. they paid Jake Delhomme.....after Tommy Jone....and after this...
  14. I do not believe a person exists that here that literally says he can't throw 20 yards. I say he can't. Because statistically, he rarely does it vs his peers and the results when he does are way worse than his peers. And IMO you can clearly see NFL Ss cheat coverage assignments because of it which then makes the intermediate stuff harder. Results are all that matter and we are 3 years in to the show.
  15. I was looking at CFF ....XL grades out as one of the best in big time routes during the month of October. He also doesn't have a lot around him. It's not like Peyton Manning is throwing the ball, with Kyle Shanahan is calling the plays or something. He has a bunch of losers around him. Some would say it's the worst spot any WR could of gone to. I would appreciate it if you unhappy miserable people would quit insulting Xavier and be real Panther fans. Spurs Up!
  16. yeah, I can get a little of that. But that's not what he is posting in his argument just now though. He said people wouldn't even concede to the literal ability to do it when pressed on the literal ability. I have never seen that. He maintains it exists somewhere. I mean, using anomaly games to make arguments about players just isn't the way. There wasn't a defender within 10 yards of our guys on 2 of those 3 throws Sunday. No one within 5 on the 3rd. That's not Bryce Young answering questions about his play downfield.. That's Bryce Young taking advantage of coverage busts by a bad D. Which hey, that's part of the game too. Recognition and seeing the field. It can't totally be dismissed. That's still good play. You want your QBs to make those plays. But it's not getting into the long standing critique of BY IMO.
  17. Did you see how quickly and easily I addressed I didn’t mean he literally couldn’t throw the ball? it’s hard to imagine anyone arguing he literally couldn’t do it and being serious. I haven’t seen it. He claims it exists somewhere
  18. LMAO.... criticizing Bryce for his inability play the game beyond 20 yards....is not arguing he literally can't throw the ball 20 yards. you can also check my posts where I have detailed his 20+ yard throws in 2024 and in 2025 and his success rate doing. Looking at his 20+ yard throws (which clearly isn't denying the literal ability to do it), is how the argument he is dogwater and can't play beyond 20 yards is crafted.
  19. Well, it's clearly not a broadly or largely made claim around here......if no one can find it/share it being made. So, wouldn't that make it a poor thing to argue about? That's all.
  20. I have never seen anyone dig into the claim Bryce Young LITERALLY can't throw the ball 20 yards. I don't think acting like THAT is an actual position here, is a good position to argue from.
  21. I think all this is standard internet arguing. Basically, you know what people meant, but it's better for argument's sakes to take things you know aren't literal as literal. (you as in people in general, not you you) I do recall discussion of who throwing the ball downfield is different in the NFL than college. Because it is. A lot of decisions and throws that work in college are no longer on the table. NFL defenses are better and faster. Windows become smaller. So yeah, throws in the NFL are different than college. For example, Bryce doesn't need to be throwing a lot of traditional out routes. We have found that out. Back shoulder? Comebacks? Ok. Some deeper stuff over the middle? Windows are way smaller and close faster in the NFL. Balls that worked in college will get picked.
  22. On that same chart, slot me in between Teddy and Clausen. But more toward Teddy than Clausen. I think if we literally made a list of every Panther QB, that's where I think the collective group slots him.
  23. I mean, I can get a ball downfield 40 yards. There would be a couple massive issues with me doing it. My ball placement would be off the charts bad. Second, for me to get it 40 yards I'm gonna have to moon it......which would give DBs the opportunity to make plays on balls that wouldn't exist if a better QB were throwing it. Which is all an exaggerated explanation of the Bryce issue. To many play the literal game w/ Bryce when it comes defending him. Every NFL QB likely can loft one up around 50 yards. Every QB in the NFL can't get a ball 30 yards downfield in the same windows. Or the same ball placement. That's the Bryce issue. But I also think mixed into that is just his QB DNA. Take a young Brees, it was in his DNA to stress defenses and takes shots. He would flat out be Delhomme-ish at times. Which is coverage and assignment altering. Brees would throw balls into triple coverage 40 yards downfield. Is that smart? Sometimes it is. Not because the play gets made but you force the secondary to play honest.
  24. we have been bad offensively basically every game Rico Dowdle hasn't gone full Tecmo Bowl Bo Jackson on folks.
