  1. Young isn't making it anywhere in the NFL. There isn't enough talent the other 10 guys could bring that would still result in wins.
  2. They should be feeling out all of those guys now and if they know they can't or shouldn't afford them in the offseason then move them for anything now because they are already gone. They have an elderly QB, no defense and I'm not sure they are building anything more than experience for most of the team. Getting any draft capital is a win for people who won't and shouldn't be here next year. They definitely need everything they can get in the draft to start the rebuild from another failed retooling.
  3. XL - We shouldn't have traded up. He looks OK and what DC likes. Overhyped by college fans. Body catches are some BS and need to stop. Brooks - Massive mistake. Even if he becomes a good player it was a terrible pick. Guys picked behind him that already make him look like a worse pick. Wallace - I like his attitude. I'm still not sure if he is going to be good or just good enough. Sanders - A project getting better reps with Thomas out there being ass which is ironic and funny to me. Has lots of work left but has upside. The rest are non-existent so far. I had to look up their names to see who we even picked later in the draft because I tuned out after round 2.
  4. Paying an expensive RB when your HC won't run enough might be as effective as getting a QB that can't throw from the pocket 2 expensive OGs...so more of the same really I guess. I like Hubbard but I have a feeling he should be priced out of what Carolina should be buying in a RB. Especially when they have a RB contract they need to eat and get behind them ASAP. It's time to clean the mess up and I think that means not paying top prices for guys right now. Players are not going to be willing to stay or come here that have options unless it's at top prices. They did that with the OGs and it clearly wasn't worth it because it didn't help their QB from being a bust and the team still has won one game with a bottom third O and last place D.
  5. It was inevitable with his talent level. They also don't keep a #3 on the active roster so I'm not convinced everyone in that house understands how bad of an NFL player Young is yet. I get the feeling he is 'in training' and that is horrifying because it shows a complete lack of understanding of talent by people who still run the team. This chapter isn't over yet but I will be celebrating when it is.
  6. It's the biggest part of it. Trading an expensive player isn't in itself bad and is somewhat necessary in the modern NFL, missing on what you drafted them for is really bad which is the Panther special. Add in the Young trade and it compounds the issue further with that massive miss on so many chances at talent infusions on rookie contracts. The Rams did but then it caught up with them fast. They bought a SB but now have a team nearly as bad as the Panthers 2+ years after a SB win they bought and that's with getting to the playoffs last year while getting bounced by the team they used to buy a SB. They literally bought a 1 year window and fell apart after the Stafford trade as a contender, scraped together 9 wins under Stafford in 2023 and then got much worse again this year. They were also a 10-6 team the year before the Stafford trade so they were in a position to actually buy a SB. If you are not drafting well it will doom a team long term. They can cheat it for a bit with good pro-personnel moves but that's a patch at best IMO. And as for the odds, the more pics you have the more a team should increase their chances of finding good players. It also helps if they don't have a project player fetish.
  7. I'm starting to think teams know DC won't keep running it so they don't over commit to stopping the run even when it's effective. I think they are doing good but it looks better because teams know he will keep passing when he should be running.
  8. Drafting poorly and wasting that capital is why they have a talentless roster.
  9. Not going to see a FB with DC's offense. This. He is running someone else's offense and he has the tendencies to get away from what he should be doing for what he wants to do. He got put into a corner fast 2 weeks ago but ran just enough yesterday to keep it close enough to still be running in the 4th. It's very meh when you take the highs and lows together IMO. I keep waiting for the light to come on with him but he keeps doing that exact same thing you said over and over. I think that's just who he is and it's why he will hit a wall if he can't change that aspect of his coaching.
  10. A good QB on a rookie contract would fix a lot of things. Not enough to make this team a contender obviously but enough to be more competitive and build around. That's the 2 year swing in the NFL. Get a good QB and build around him and you can turn it around dramatically in 2 years.
  11. He was always a throw first guy. He didn't run enough in Tampa either. It's an ongoing issue with him and his style IMO.
  12. Just put Young on IR. He isn't it and we have wasted enough games with him to know exactly who he is in the NFL. He isn't the future. He is a mistake they still have to deal with.
  13. 20 to 25. Just run the damn ball. It's obviously a team that is built for the run to setup the pass but the HC still thinks it's the other way around.
  14. I was hoping DC could fend that off with guys being given a chance and actually scoring offensive TDs. I was assuming it's going to take some bad Ls for that. That's like turning the Titanic into Chernobyl.
  15. When Andy goes down and they trot Young out there then it's going to get worse again. The team isn't good but guys are being given a chance to improve themselves. That's as good as this year was ever going to get and it can still go back to the big suck at any time.
  16. Didn't look like many went today. I don't see that improving the rest of the year. It's just bad football on almost every level. Might be something fun to do with your kids if you live in the area and can get the tickets for $15.
  17. When they put Bryce back in later this year the Brown's mistakes won't matter because even the dogshit product they put out today will be the good old days again.
  18. So far meh. He isn't a bad playcaller and he isn't good. His play designs can be effective and at other times it's a deadend play that should be scrapped. He still comes off to me as a decent OC who would do better with a HC that makes him go agaisnt his usual more often. As a HC he looks really inexperienced. I loved Byce being sat but I have no confirmation of the actual details. I think hebcould also do better with a better GM vs his friend. He just comes of as a new guy that needs an old hand to know when to say no or change it up to me.
  19. I need to see better game plans and a lot more Hubbard for me to believe. Getting behind early is just going to put themselves in a corner again and that's a blowout regardless of the divisional rivals stuff.
  20. Divisional rivals so the games are usually tougher and more unpredictable. They should cook us. Thomas is back so the loss feels like a lock. It's going to be an empty house. No one wants those tickets. Combine that with a blowout and the heat should be turned up even with Dalton playing at an NFL level. Evero has to get some pressure with someone. He can't go an entire game with 1 or 2 hurries or less. DC has to call a better game. He allowed the DC to dictate his play calling and that was pathetic. I'm watching because it's free on TV and I can do something else fun so it's not a complete waste of time. I just hope someone steps up somewhere on this team. Wallace and BC at OC would be a mercy.
  21. Another great lesson in draft the player and not the school or their record. That crap is just practice and their opponents are just practice. 'But who did he play'? Nobody because they are all not in the NFL so it's just different levels of nobodies with some NFL talent sprinkled in. That's just college fan BS at the NFL level.
  22. With the different QBs it's evident it looks worse with Young because of Youngs faults. It happens less with a QB that can step up in the pocket. He still is going to get beat from time to time but that's part of being a LT. They aren't likely to find anything better anytime soon. He has plenty to work on but it's not been bad since Young was benched.
  23. Can't use week 1 or 2 to clearly grade Icky. Protecting Young is about impossible due to his playing style. That's why Icky wasn't credited for sacks last year on guys he was blocking. When a QB holds the ball that long and runs out of protection as often as Young does it's not on the blocker at that point. If you can see a 7 step drop then it's on the QB at that point for terrible technique. When you see a 7 step drop in spread then you have a guy who is trying to get himself killed. Go look at the last 3 games and do a real evaluation with Dalton under center. He still has stuff to work on and he may never be more than just good but just good is enough to not worry about on this roster.
  24. 2 NFL QBs and a bust. I can't wait until all of that is just an old nightmare dulled by time.
