When they talk about QB not having any “elite” physical traits he would be one just like Brady. They make up for it with competitiveness, living in the film room, and staying calm under pressure. My point was it’s dumb to write off a prospect like Pickett because he doesn’t have any “elite” physical traits. He has shown he can play the position at a high level.

Yeah look no further than UNC to show what you are saying. Howell had to run a lot more this year because his OL was terrible. It basically became a one read and run because he would be sacked otherwise. Liberty was much of the same. The fans that watched Willis/Howell play can see this. The ones that haven’t or just are against drafting a QB will try to argue differently.

Yeah when people mention raw talent in a small conference than needs to be developed his name will come up for obvious reasons. If Lance has success his will as well. Allen is the reason Lance went 3 overall and Willis will go in the first. It’s a copycat league.

I’ve already stated he is better off going to a stronger organization like the Steelers and we could ruin his development. I think Corral fits what we are trying to run the most. A run first offense with a quick QB who can get the ball out quickly to his playmakers. Before you flip out, yes 6 would be high to pick him. Neal/Icky should be the pick if there are there at 6.

That’s why it’s dumb to ask for a NFL comparison. So much of it is mental. Allen has been busting his ass each offseason getting better at his craft. It’s hard to tell if a draft prospect can/will have that level of commitment. The guy I was responding too said Allen was pretty much Cam Newton. Big difference in college production! No go cry about mobile QBs and Super Bowls with your Cam Newton Avatar.

Who was Mahomes Comp? Josh Allen? They can name QBs with similar traits, but they are like nothing I’ve see before. Who was Lamar Jackson’s? Russ Wilson’s? NFL.COM has Willis as “Jay Cutler (arm)/ Jalen Hurts (build/play style). He has the arm and strength/speed of a Allen. Allen is obviously taller, but both had some work to do as passers coming out and will be drafted on potential. Why does there have to be a comp? Maybe Trey Lance (also taller, but small school raw passer). He is an athletic QB with a strong arm, strong leadership and has been showing great maturity/character in his interviews. He blew away the other QBs in the Senior Bowl based on his intangibles. It’s not like he was passing in the low 50s for percentage. He was a solid passer at Liberty when he had a pocket. It’s not like the Panthers are the only team high on him…

Go look at what Allen did at Wyoming… (Spoiler- nothing impressive at all). Willis had Liberty ranked in 2020 and beat bigger programs in Virginia Tech and Syracuse (they suck but should be able to handle a Liberty University).

Good call on Herbert. I have to admit I didn’t think he would make it in the NFL like he is. I thought him not living up to his hype at Oregon was a red flag. I was wrong.
