100%. Also footwork and fundamentals is how Brees made it work with his smaller frame. He literally hopped around the pocket with his feet set going through his progressions.
-
Yeah he isn’t coming back…
-
Yeah it looks like regression.

With our running game I doubt it, but who knows? You are rocking a house divided this Sunday right?
-
Lol I get it. Just saying sometimes strange things happen. “That’s why they play the game.”
-
I don’t think they have one anymore. Houston sucks balls and Stroud is winning by himself as a one man show? That’s all I can make out of it….
-
If Mingo can consistently get open and get some YAC then yes Young would have a playmaker. That’s how it’s works. They have more speed and an OC that knows how to work with his QB to get his weapons open. You can go read the data if you don’t like it. Houston’s OL is giving him more time, his weapons are catching it more often with more separation and getting YAC on top of it. Stroud is still having a MVP type year. When Rodgers was clicking in GB the same things were happening. If you get an elite QB with a staff that knows what they are doing good things happen fast. What team outside of SF snd maybe the Eagles does Mills get more than 2 wins? Schultz, Dell, plus Ryans and his OC weren’t there last year. So yeah they were a worse team plus they had a bad QB. That’s the interesting part about all of this. How quickly Houston is turning it around. Most important is getting Stroud, but no other rookie has seen this type of success so early. Part of that is a credit to Houston like it or not. I’m sorry that bothers you for some strange irrational reason.

He is playing. It's a good reason to pull him if things get ugly fast. Something does tell me this game will be closer than we think. Sometimes the Cowboys overlook bad teams like the Cardinals...

I was so excited when Brown came here. Now he is stuck is a terrible place. We really need to let Frank go and have Staley or Evero take over HC while Brown does his on thing with the offense. Between Brown, Evero, and Staley maybe we can find something in this staff that works. Honestly I wouldn't be against giving one of those guys next year as well. We don't have a top pick and will be rolling with Bryce for one more year regardless. It also helps a little with the Tepper fires coaches too quickly reputation if he extends an interim coach IMO.
-
Someone on Discord suggested this is Frank's way to kind of fall on the sword and protect Brown. If the offense still struggles it's 100% on him now without a scapegoat. I could see that to a degree...

They finally go the running game going. It's something we can't do. If you actually read the article they don't even mention the running game. It's offensive scheme, playmakers making plays, YAC, an improving defense etc that is making their team play better as a whole. Stroud has a decent pocket, weapons with separation, and they can take it to the house once they catch it. Combine that with Stroud's football IQ and elite arm talent and they are becoming a solid young team overall. Ryans is doing what everyone was expecting our staff to do at a much faster rate. The only thing predictable is people on here trying to actually argue against something that is so obvious to any casual fan.

and other teams use to acquire what little talent we have for cheap...
-
That was in jest because you seem hyper sensitive about Stroud to a point where we can't even compliment the players around him WITH him without a reaction. The Texans are doing it right. They have their QB and were even getting his input during the draft they picked him. Stroud wanted Dell and they took him in the third. Look how it paid out. It's like Burrow asking the Bengals to draft Chase over OL to a lesser degree. Hopefully that relationship continues. As annoying as he could be at times he was entertaining. I will never forgot the Young Lion Corral posts.
-
Yeah but your eyeballs don't matter because all you need is the Fantasy App?? Or so I'm told...
-
I'd argue sitting for a year helps regardless of games played. Regardless Howell is legit and dropped due to the offensive play around him his final year. The man was a first round talent they stole in the 5th. If only we picked him over Corral. We can't get this QB thing right no matter how hard we try. We have stripped down our roster and draft capital trying to land one and missed on Howell and Stroud. Maybe Young can work out, but a lot has to change very quickly....
-
He is so humble about it too. I'm jealous AF...

To be clear you are saying game tape is irrelevant? I just wanted to double check with you... We were literally posting about a writer complimenting the Texans roster. It's not saying they are a top roster, but that made a nice jump in year one of Ryans. Stroud is without a doubt a huge part of it as the article states. You want this to be a Young/Stroud debate but it's not. Stroud is better than Young no one is arguing that. Rippadonn was actually right for once but it didn't come into fruition until after he was banned. Poor guy... He is getting his victory lap somewhere.
-
He is also not a rookie...
-
Oh poo you have the fantasy app my bad. Makes you wonder why coaches or scouts ever watch tape with that fantasy app around right? I just think the word "cope" is trending and being used when people don't like anything positive or just to completely troll/derail threads like in this case. Repeating the same word/phrase over and over again when it isn't applicable is the Rippadon Effect wherever he may be. Again this whole thread is in response to an article that none of us wrote. We can compliment the Texans without hurting Stroud it's ok, I promise it's ok...

I really thought he would look better than this. Our OL shouldn't be regressing this much, but here we are. We have no blocking, no weapons, no separation, no speed, no identity, and we can't even decide who is going to call plays for this sad excuse for an offense. Young is struggling as well which is expected for most rookies, but what we gave up to get him and where we drafted him we all expect much more from him and rightfully so. It's honestly better for the NFL and better for Stroud that he didn't get stuck in this mess. Would he look better? absolutely, but not as good as he does in Houston. Props to Houston for doing him right. I expect them to add more weapons and protection for their franchise QB.

The media’s dumb games about players is not what this thread has been about. You are turning this into something deep (and yes true). The heart of his comment was related to the topic and true IMO and as well as the author in the OP article. “It is even weirder how when folks point out that the Texans have done a much better job of supporting CJ with pass protection, play calling, play design, receivers getting open, and finding success in the run game that some of CJ's fans get personally offended. I haven't seen anything stated nor insinuated that CJ is being carried by the Texans, but I've definitely seen his fans make sure to scream that CJ and CJ alone is the sole reason for the Texans' recent success (and damn any data or film showing otherwise!).” The Cam comments were saying how Cam never got enough help here either. Obviously extreme example comparing Young to Cam, but we did Cam poorly here. He never got a WR1 and he never got a solid OL. Had we given him those things he might still be playing for us with a ring or two. We should want these things for any QB we have. The fact that you’ve watched 0 Texans games and still want to call out anyone who has a honest analysis about how well they have done assembling their team is telling. Keep jumping in with your “coping” troll comments, but some people on here want to actually talk about football. We can have a conversation about teams showing success like have 3 TOs and still winning a game against a top team. That’s a sign of a strong team and it’s not hating on Stroud. He is exactly what they needed and he is taking the league by storm. I wish he was here, but it’s better for him to be away from this poo show honestly.
-
It's really bad. Someone made a comment to me the other day about Carolina acting like the Browns and my first thought was that would be an upgrade...
-
He came on mostly defending what I was saying about the Texans doing a better job which you came in here and blew it off as coping. Honestly you came in here trying to be dismissive of a conversation with a little dig snuck in there and of course people with react (which was probably the goal of your comment). If there is some weird history between you two then keep it in the messages and not open forum if you don't want anyone else engaging. If that has you shook for other reasons that I'm not aware of I apologize. I don't know where or why Young's hoodie comes into play, but if you want to critique him for it go ahead I guess? I see Young being labeled as a bust just as often as people making excuses for him. If he does continue down this road and busts I can only hope it gives Tepper the clarity to stay out of the football side of things. If a comment about you being related to Stroud because of how defensive you are about him causes you to be done engaging it kind of proves the point...
-
Man you are going off the deep end here Frank. Please understand NO ONE IS BASHING Stroud, nor have they been this entire thread. I’m fact most comments are complimenting Stroud. We are just giving some props to the Texans organization as well just like this article. In comparison our organization has done a poo job… It doesn’t make anyone “strange” or mean we are “coping.” It doesn’t mean we think Young is better than Stroud. Stroud seems like a great guy and is a hell of a QB, but damn I’d swear he was your long lost son or something…
-
Look at you “coping” so hard. Did I do it right??
