  1. I know they’re better now but their cap situation is absolutely horrific and they won’t recover for years. They either have to completely suck for a few years or continue restructuring contracts into the future. This was started by Sean Payton who tried to kick the can for a few years and is the main reason he retired in the first place.
  2. Exactly you can build a team around him, not every QB has to be elite or a future hall of famer to have success as a team
  3. Funny because Delhomme was very average, had a lot of limitations, pedestrian stats (threw a lot of INTs), but was just clutch in most games except that Arizona debacle in 2008. I'm afraid we keep looking for a perfect specimen we'll be stuck. Fields has a lot of redeemable qualities, he can become a better passer. I don't believe that people can't learn to see the field or read defenses better. But you can't teach size, speed, arm strength and athleticism.
  4. I agree with the OP, it’s better to build the overall team and insert a QB. Constantly swinging and missing or reaching for a perfect QB is dooming the franchise to a decade of basement dwelling in the NFL.
  5. Isn’t that like biting my nose to spite my face? I could never root for this team to fail no matter how much I despise Tepper
  6. Howell has no future as a starting QB
  7. Remember when we stole him from the Saints in the draft lol
  8. We would have been ecstatic if Bryce had these stats. Just sayin
  9. Running game would be insane, visions of Lamar behind this offensive line
  10. He’s getting benched, I would love to see what Canales could do with him. Unlike Bryce he has many redeemable qualities as a mobile QB and has a really strong arm. Unfortunately he also has trouble seeing the field and watches the pressure too much. That said, I would consider a Day 3 pick and kick the tires.
  11. We can't just say Tepper sucks, we're dysfunctional so there's no way it'll work for us Chuba is on a cheap contract as a 4th rounder, so that's one draft pick that actually worked out. It would be dumb to develop him and let him leave for nothing. Resign him to a team friendly contract and then work to develop Brooks as his eventual replacement.
  12. Most teams have a two back system, ideally one or both on a rookie contract and you rinse and repeat. Look at what the Falcons are doing with Allgeier and Robinson.
  13. You’re underestimating the value of familiarity and fit. No guarantee to have same production elsewhere
  14. I think Moore was injured and didn’t return?
  15. Agreed, AND you can’t possibly evaluate the rest of your offensive players with Bryce stinking it up. With Andy we at least should be competitive and gives us something to get excited about in the future. Bryce is done and Canales has all but said that
  16. Glad to see Coker getting more than Mingo but he also needs more targets.
  17. Yes we have to keep trying which is why it’s important to continue to allow these young players to develop so we can surround a young QB with the supporting cast. Depending on the QB I would absolutely let him sit behind Dalton for a year.
  18. Don’t worry the schedule only gets worse
  19. Define big bucks. Pay them fair market value based on current and projected performance. This false premise that you can’t retain your best players is just nonsense, especially when they’re at totally different positions. They need to see if they can get Diontae to agree to a reasonable long term deal or try to trade him if not. Horn deserves to be paid if he continues to show he can stay healthy and perform. Chuba can be signed to a deal that you could move away from in 3 years when hopefully Brooks can take over as the premier back.
  20. You think? I don’t even know who our starting edge rushers are anymore
  21. At least it’s watchable, I will take that over what we saw with Bryce
  22. Need to switch back to a 4-3, I would rather get lit up passing than get demoralized in the run game like this
  23. I agree, have to retain proven players in their prime
