  1. Maybe 2018, but I don't remember much about that offseason to know for sure. Other than that probably 2011, 2009, or 2006.
  2. It's not even about winning, and it never really was IMO. It's about the fact that this young team was not developing or improving at all from week to week. That was always the metric for this season regardless of what the media/team outlets said, and while Tepper is a giant dumbass in many ways I'll give him credit for recognizing that and pulling the plug. The team's record could be what it is right now but if Bryce looked better, Mingo looked better, hte OL looked better, etc from week to week then Reich would still be here and it may not feel so utterly hopeless.
  3. Who is mad at him? Maybe some, but as I've said many times before calling out performance or lack thereof is not 'being mad' or 'hating'. There are also plenty of comments about the offense but those guys aren't posturing themselves as one of the best in the league, and I'm pretty sure that Bryce's play and the OL take a metric ton of flak around the fanbase (rightfully so IMO) - thus why I have also always said, and did so again here with respect to Burns, with big demands comes big expectations, big attention, and big scrutiny. Burns, like every other high-profile player, brings it on themselves when they move into the spotlight. It is what it is. Also for the millionth time, just can it with the 'hate' business. Few, if anyone, 'hates' him. To repeat, caling out performance that doesn't match demands is not 'hate'. Pointing out flaws in objective disucssion is not 'hate'. That word specifically has been rendered meaningless by uses such as this and you won't be taken seriously popping off about 'haters'. It's just trite at this point.
  4. Fair or not, with big demands comes big expectations, big attention, and big scrutiny. There is extra glare from the losing season and the absolutely dumbass ejection Sunday (yes, anybody who does that is a dumbass at that moment, not just Burns). Dude doesn't get it done and hasn't ever gotten it done at the level he wants to be paid, and folks are finally seeing it given the focus on the contract. It's not complicated.
  5. What accuracy? We saw him underthrow/miss multiple wide-open receivers yesterday. I'm sorry, but Bryce does looks neither accurate nor "very talented" at this level at this time. That's the point - there isn't anything there above and beyond what every other QB has shown in Carolina these past years, and given the cost that's just not good enough to warrant much patience. Most don't even care about winning, just show something worthy of being the #1 overall pick and that is encouraging for the future.
  6. Word is that he was seen driving down the street with Hakeem Nicks.
  7. Player quotes mean nothing, coachspeak means nothing. Those guys support each other and rightfully so, but they know what's up. IMO that's definitely a part of it. Better surrounding cast will help but then he's just the current version of Teddy... not what you want from a #1 overall.
  8. That's fair, and I'm admittedly just completely done with the state of things at the moment. It's just all the culmination of Tepper's and the FO's series of easily avoidable screw-ups for the past half-decade. There are no Fs left to give for me and many others, so to speak. Success doesn't always happen and that's life, but the current situation is entirely self-inflicted.
  9. Where did I say anything 'doom and gloom' or nitpicking? Perhaps lumping everyone together isn't the right approach, just like lumping you in with the rose-colored brigade may not be accurate.
  10. If only Carolina had a guy like James Bradberry that could cover Evans. ...
  11. It started before Rhule - he held on to Ron and Hurney too long. He's been a day late and a dollar short since the very start.
  12. The text was on-screen for literally fractions of a second in the clip and changing sizes the entire time - how tf is anyone supposed to make sense of it? It is quite impossible to actually read, especially with that god-awful music. And use of the term 'hater' automatically discounts anything you're saying. Consider using something that actually expresses a relevant and cogent position rather than a trite, meaningless, utterly stupid buzzword.
  13. Amen. 'Hate', 'hater', etc. have lost all meaning in these discussions and, when used in a discussion like this these days, just serve as a signal that someone has a strong bias toward whatever is supposedly being 'hated on.' Talking about negative realities is not 'hating'.
  14. That is quite possibly the worst, most useless video clip I've ever seen. If the objective is to give the viewer a headache, it succeeds.
  15. Or Mingo earlier in the game. Both receivers with space in front, both notably underthrown.
  16. Nope. Everything that he's been lauded for this far is just minimum for being an NFL QB, and even those are few and far between. Has not been a promising year thus far.
  17. They were in the 'playoffs' for about 8 weeks before the season ended, so I think we saw it. They just ran out of gas vs the Saints in week 17. Loved watching that team though and how they all came together midseason, with Moose looking absolutely dominant during that back stretch and Goings just getting it done.
  18. Such a wasted pick, but they kind of all are at this point unless Tepper pulls his head out.
  19. Any other news on this? Perhaps just not in game shape? Slater was there...
  20. He just doesn't operate - process, if you will - at NFL speed at this point and doesn't have the arm strength to make up fractions of a second. Not a winning combination.
  21. Jesus Christ, just run it you damn moron. Why does everything have to be so hard?!? Quote
  22. Edit: wrong thread, but was still somewhat relevant.
