  1. 3-4 is heavily dependent on a good NT and good ends to eat blocks to let the LBs do their job while also being able to be creative on run blitzes. Last year, we had nothing but JAGs in the front 7 due to injury. Hopefully the dline should be much better at eating up blocks this year and helping to stop the run. And I'm pretty sure we still run a lot of nickel despite having a "3-4" defense.
  2. Hopefully these judgements aren't being made because the backups looked bad in a preseason game that most coordinators are calling vanilla plays in. That being said... If we look as bad the first half of this season as last year, fire him at the midway point
  3. It was probably a 50 in the 1st q and a 95 in the 2nd/3rd quarter against the 3rd stringers (who are more like 4th stringers for most other teams)
  4. Never heard of any of these dudes except smith-wade
  5. Less concerned about tets drops, more concerned if he can create separation against the press from physical corners (especially if they have size). Same concern I had since the start of the 2025 year. I think we might need to have him be in motion often to help negate press coverages he will likely face
  6. I guess. Definitely won't get a read on the backup linemens ability to run block in the game... Granted, most of them are probably camp fodder
  7. Why have we called so many pass plays?
  8. Would you honestly want that drama on our team? He's a career backup at best. Guarantee you the dude throws a poo fit if he isn't starting week 1 for the browns
  9. You can still get film even if he sucks. See if the WRs are running good routes, is the oline blocking correctly, etc. Honestly, if we trade for a QB, I would still love jameis as a backup. Dude is peak boom or bust
  10. I get what you are saying, but if Bryce gets hurt or reverts back to his rookie year, there isn't any back up saving this team. We had way too many holes on this roster to focus on drafting backup qbs
  11. Did he score against any of our D starters?
  12. I get you, but he at least knows the system and has looked solid for us the previous 2 years. Inexcusable how bad he has been tonight though
  13. Wonder if we can trade Dalton for a washing machine
  14. Haven't had a chance to watch. How have our starters and primary backups looked?
  15. Don't worry. Rumor is Bobby Boucher is available to sign
  16. Not his fault he has played for 2 dysfunctional franchises for his career with poor QB play for most of his years in the league.
  17. Gotta be honest... That 2023 WR room might be the worst I have ever seen for any team. Outside of Thielen (a fringe #2, likely #3 WR for most teams), there was nothing but a bunch of JAGs to throw to. Still amazed that Dalton had that crazy good game against Seattle that year.
  18. We are going back to the future and bringing back 50s style football!
  19. On one hand, I agree. On the other hand, our mascot is a black cat and we seem to have the worst injury luck just about every year.
  20. I'm honestly intrigued to see how he does. As an FSU fan, I hated the dude for the 2022-2023 season because he seemed to shank just about every FG he took. His last 2 years, he was automatic - many of which were from 50+. Hell, he hit that 59 yard bomb over in Ireland when they crapped the bed against GT
  21. The hard part is kicking has such a mental component and we see what happens when a kicker cracks. Hell, I thought Tucker was going to end up being the best kicker ever the rate he was going before turning into a predator and forgetting how to kick a football. We honestly have been decently lucky at kicker. Kasay and Gano were mostly good for us and they were our kickers for roughly 2/3 of our NFL existence. Even weak legged Eddie did good enough for for FGs under 50
  22. Helps that we have only been around since 1995. At the rate we are going, we are well on our way to catching up to NO.... The most surprising thing is that Minni somehow has been the best at being .500 or better
  23. That's like comparing apples to hand grenades... Vinatieri is one of the best ever and will be one of the handful of kickers that are in the hall of fame. Whether you draft a kicker in the 1st or they are UDFA - you are very unlikely to find another like him.
  24. I would say most starting kickers were probably drafted in the 6th, 7th, or UDFA. Hell, we drafted Butker however many years ago in the 7th and traded him away because we weren't patient. Let's not do that again
