Not sure why anyone would be against it. He’s a very good LT…age aside and would be cheaper. We should have learned our lesson with signing Kalil over Whitworth before. The guy just won a super bowl and was still playing great

You are right about the QB. As far as building the remaining team we are in great shape overall and I am very optimistic about this wonderful FA class so far. Here is my plan to get solid results this season and have hope for the future. I posted this in another thread but here is my plan if I were GM. Pickett fans can switch out him for Malik but the point is that is at least a PLAN that could work in my opinion: Sign a LT in free agency, sign Fitzmagic as a one year rental, draft Willis at #6 and let him have a true redshirt year to adjust to the NFL. He can learn from fitz and Darnold will be backup, then we are set going into 2023 season with a young talented team on both sides of the ball and (hopefully) our franchise QB ready to start and take over the league. Our offense next season: QB: Fitzpatrick, Darnold, Willis O line: FA LT (Armstead?), LG: Christensen, Center: Bozeman, RG: Corbett, RT: Moton Playmakers: CMC, DJ Moore, Anderson, Tremble, Marshall JR, Thomas, Hubbard, D’Onta Foreman Major upgrade on paper and hope for the future -
Agreed. We don’t have to play him twice a year which makes it much, much easier to digest. We have a shot at building a complete team now, so that once we do find a solution at QB we will be set…..well once we get our new head coach that is

David Newton's "cryptic" comment got me to thinkin

Longshot? 39-year old Ryan Fitzpatrick on a 1-year deal. Heard it here first. I’ve been calling for this for a while now. Sign a LT in free agency, sign Fitzmagic as a one year rental, draft Willis at #6 and let him have a true redshirt year to adjust to the NFL. He can learn from fitz and Darnold will be backup, then we are set going into 2023 season with a young talented team on both sides of the ball and (hopefully) our franchise QB ready to start and take over the league. Would anyone be upset if we did the following: -Sign Armstead, then our line would be: LT: Armstead, LG: Christensen, Center: Bozeman, RG: Corbett, RT Moton -We then Draft Willis #6 overall -We sign Fitzpatrick to be a one year stop gap while Willis has a true redshirt year to develop -QB room is starter: Fitzpatrick, Backup: Darnold, 3rd string: Willis (one full year to develop and learn the game) -We have faith in the future again

Now that he is officially on another team I will say it: FUG WATSON. I hope he fails and fails hard. I am exited for the future of our team especially now that we are shoring up the o line. We have a young talented defense who should continue to grow, amazing skill players, finally a half way decent line on paper, all we need now is a QB….one who is not drama

Thoughts on putting Cam behind this line?
WarPanthers89 replied to RumHam's topic in Carolina Panthers
It does not seems that he has many option to weigh if he wants to be a starter. We have a better team that Seattle overall especially now that we are building our line -

I’ll add this on every thread. In on every deal

No doubt. The guy isn’t even a good backup, I’m not sure why people think we should start him

I was exited at the thought of having a top franchise QB like most, even though in my heart I knew we could be trading way too much to do so. I believe it’s because we have been hopeless the last couple years and this was a spark. Now that we have come to the reality that Watson is our new most hated QB in the South, I wanted to focus on the state of our team, and how close we could be to correcting our biggest weakness (other than QB obviously.) @VergeMentioned in another thread that the Panthers have been eying center Bradley Bozeman from the Ravens. If we make a move like this we could be one pick or FA away from being MUCH more talented than last years line. We would then look like this: LT: Number 6 overall stud Rookie or FA, LG: Christensen, Center: Bozeman, RG: Corbett, RT: Moton We could also sign a top free agent LT and trade back in the draft and get a center and QB (we still have many options to plug holes) Tell me that does not excite you compared to the train wreck we fielded last season along with our new brass balls O line coach. We have a team full of young talent, and we would then be a QB and coach away from competing. We have shown that we will do whatever we can to land a top QB so that could come after this upcoming season when our cap looks sweet and the future of the franchise looks even sweeter when we fire the fraud Rhule. With us missing out on Watson, how would you move forward if you were GM Huddlers?

Where does the "culture" go from here?
WarPanthers89 replied to MechaZain's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is the lowest we have been in a while. With that being said I’ll quickly move on. The good news is…if we sign free agent center Bozeman from the Ravens we have a legit shot at having an offensive line and can keep our young team together. We will then be a QB away and be set up for decent cap space after this year. Our number 6 pick can be a Franchise LT. The possibilities are endless after one more season of enduring Rhule and Darnold -

Good depth piece and special teams player. -
Bozeman would be a HUGE signing. If we do not land Watson we are literally one LT at pick #6 away from having an offensive line that is completely fixed. Line: Rookie LT, Christensen LG, Bozeman C, Corbett RG, Moton LT

@VergeAny other chatter about another FA linemen? I know it was discussed that we could be in the mix for a LT
