  1. I agree we were screwed when we didn’t take the trade but at that point we should have kept him and signed him to a long term deal. We can only pray to have someone with the production he has this past season and he’s only 27. If he played well after that, we could have traded him later if we really wanted to for more picks rather than nickels. I know the money at the time seemed like allot but he’s only #10 highest paid right now and we have spent more than that trying to get a sliver of that production on people like DJ Wonnun, Wharton, Patrick Jones etc. and are still searching for answers. It’s similar to the CMC trade, we did nothing with the picks, and people complained about what he made, yet we paid Chubba, benched him at one point, spend a 2nd round pick on another RB, and still to this day we would kill to get his production back, much less mentioning his skills as a WR.
  2. I meant for what we did. We got almost no return for those draft picks and I disagree with you. He’s the 10th highest paid edge rusher in the league right now and was #2 in sacks. We paid his salary with players who have had almost no impact (see Tershawn Wharton and Patrick Jones). Burns is 27 and yeah….we absolutely could have used a player who got 16.5 sacks. At this point I’d take any player who could sniff double digit sacks
  3. Yeah we should never trade home grown pro bowl talent no matter what people on this board say. Burns and the CMC trade both turned out to be bad for us and I would take both on the team right now in a heartbeat. You can’t tell me we don’t miss someone who can get double digit sacks.
  4. Yeah he would be perfect, that would be an amazing pickup and would fit perfect in the role we need. With that being said I highly doubt he hits free agency.
  5. Like I said before…a return mid season is possible if his quad strength is at a level they are happy with. 8-12 months is the expected return time. Let’s all pray that’s the case and that his age is a factor in the healing process being expedited. Someone in a skill position would be much more impacted so I hope the young man can make a full recovery.
  6. Lol suck an egg dude. You are the ultimate troll. Tell me one thing that I said, that you disagree with….also…..sources: https://www.sanfordhealth.org/-/media/org/files/medical-professionals/resources-and-education/5-patellar-tendon-repair-rehabilitation-guideline.pdf https://www.resilienceorthopedics.com/knee/patellar-tendon-surgery-recovery/ https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/21573-patellar-tendon-tear https://www.sanfordhealth.org/-/media/org/files/medical-professionals/resources-and-education/5-patellar-tendon-repair-rehabilitation-guideline.pdf
  7. I know this is a message board but there is a lot of misinformation about the injury as well as outdated or misleading statistics posted. I know some of you will blow a gasket if I tell you to ChatGPT it but you really should look into it. As long as he can rebuild his quad strength there is a chance he can come back and play by mid season. Holding him out the entire year is not necessary after the surgery as long as his quad strength rehab goes well. Controlled football stress actually helps tendon remodeling, much less his overall confidence. He will be at 8 months post op come week 1, and will be on PUP with a likely return mid season.
  8. Lol wut? It’s a very serious injury but he’s 25 and can absolutely come back from this. You don’t give up on home grown talent….franchise left tackles don’t grow on trees. You don’t remember the absolute disaster that position has been other than J gross? He will likely make his way back in the middle of the season.
  9. Princely is not doing a good job with his media training it seems. He says the talent is there for our pass rush but something’s holding us back….. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DTYKnjMjqoA/?igsh=NmswampuNnJpY2Fr
  10. Take back what I said earlier, seems like if all goes well, he could be back mid season. Holding him out longer won’t really be taking necessary risk as long as core strength is rebuilt. It sounds counterintuitive but true. Tendons remodel under controlled stress. Confidence matters as much as strength. Avoiding football for the entire season next year can create hesitation, altered mechanics, secondary injuries later, etc. That’s why teams don’t bubble-wrap players unnecessarily. We will VERY likely sign a vet FA to go along with Yosh or Brady on a 1 year deal as insurance to get us through the first half of the season.
  11. I really hate it when he has an attitude like we did him dirty or something. He was given an opportunity, he made himself some money and we had a great season. His performance dwindled down the stretch and anyone with two eyes could see it. It comes across very me centered rather than being a team player. Chubba never complained once throughout the season.
  12. Not likely. They won’t be giving up on him long term so I see a stop gap vet and re signing someone like Yosh/Christiansen to a 1 year deal until Icky can come back. If we do draft someone it will likely be someone who can be a Moton replacement and still help as a LT fill in until Icky can return such as JC Latham, Amarius Mims or Taliese Fuaga
  13. Yea you could tell down the stretch his relationship with the coaching staff started to dwindle just like his playing time. He seemed so much less explosive after he was on fire those few games. We have a lot of other holes on the team where we need to spend money rather than another vet Rb with the money he’s asking for.
  14. Terrible news. Worse than expected. He won’t be back next year anywhere near his performing level. This is a career defining injury, not a routine one and will absolutely impact his contract now
  15. Icky will be out most of next season and even when he does return he won’t be back to 100 percent. Moton and Lewis are our highest perming/most consistent pieces on our line. No way he’s getting cut or traded. With that being said: -Cays (no brainer as he won’t break the bank and if we draft an upgrade at center he will be perfect depth as backup center and guard to replace the role Corbett had.) -Coker - no brainer That’s about it for major priorities that I see that we NEED to re sign. Everyone else we can replace. I would like to see us re sign for DEPTH (definitely not as a starter): -Yosh (1 year deal only) -D.J -Rozeboom -Simmons (special teams) -Jansen (keep the dream rolling with 1 year deals)
  16. We have a solid core but can’t depend on Sanders being out “dependable pass catcher” as he’s below average. We don’t need to break the bank or get a superstar but add someone such as Likely from the Ravens and we will be in a good spot
  17. Coker is the man. We need a dependable speed WR that will blow the top off of a defense, and a pass catching TE to add to the mix and we will be good. Our TE room is solid but we need someone who will stand out in the pass catching game, we cannot depend on Sanders (my hope is an underrated signing such as Likely from the Ravens)
  18. To be the man, you have to beat the man. If we ever expect to make a run, you have to be able to compete with the big dogs so I welcome it. We can’t keep getting help to make it in the playoffs, we need to keep building it block by block, the Seattle game in 2014 is one we will always remember because it showed us that we belong with the best
  19. Let just celebrate that we have 2 good CB’s on our team. We need to add some depth but both are studs and I am thrilled to actually have talent on this team again to build off of.
  20. Good call. We need a legit speed #3 WR (Coker should have the #2 role locked down). Between the draft and FA we need edge, linebacker, safety starters. We could also use help at TE such as Likely from the Ravens to add to the rotation.
  21. We need a speed #3. Coker absolutely balled out and should be our locked in #2 WR moving forward.
