Thank you so much for the update! Our prayers for you both that all goes well.

My sights are set on Deonte Walker also. A freak of an athlete @ 6’6” 350 lbs - imagine him on our DL flanked by Brown and Robinson. It would be a nightmare for opposing OL and OC’s. He’s also got that ‘dawg’ mentality that Morgan and co are looking for from what I’ve read.

Everytime I see this it makes me mad. We were absolutely robbed! Tremendous play though.

I don’t think he ever fully recovered from that horrific injury he suffered in Boston. Which made signing him a real head scratcher but that’s MJ for you. Happy retirement, GH.

I’d say the Burns’ fiasco. That bad decision had a domino effect and set us back. It also painted us into a corner when we had to trade him.

Team makes roster moves before start of camp
Prowler2k18 replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
Brooks is recovering from ACL surgery. We have enough RBs and placing him on inactive means we can take our time with recovery and development. Smart move by the staff. -
I like Wilks but passing up on him appears to be the right call. He’s had short stints everywhere he’s been which makes one wonder. And he was basically Ron Rivera 2.0. Canales represents a refreshing change from what we’ve seen so far.

Considering the Panthers under Rhule and Wilks were content to run him into the ground as their offensive “strategy”, is it any wonder? Subpar QB play, a below average OL and one decent WR in DJ Moore pretty much guaranteed his career would be a short one if he stayed here and not much hope of things improving. But that’s JMO. We did the right thing allowing him to leave for greener pastures. You’re certainly not wrong just looking at it from a different perspective.

We’ll have to agree to disagree on this one. He set several records here, made a couple of Pro Bowls and is only one of three players to post 2,000 all-purpose yards - 1,000 yards each rushing and receiving - in a single season (2019), so it wasn’t like he wasn’t productive with us. And I happen to have one his Panthers’ jerseys that’s been hanging in my closet for awhile also.

Can you blame him? I was happy for him when he left. He was going nowhere fast staying here. The problem I had with the trade was we should’ve gotten more from the 9ers but it is what it is.

Has anyone here ever met David Tepper in person?
Prowler2k18 replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was talking with someone recently that had gotten to know the Teppers working in the hospitality industry and she confirmed everything you said. Genuinely nice people, wouldn’t know he was a billionaire if you just met him or didn’t know who he was. Says Dave can come a bit unrefined at times but overall positive interactions. And I agree with you and Cmc2k 100% - they certainly made some missteps but they genuinely want to win. The moves he’s made this offseason- from the front office overhaul and player acquisitions in free agency and the draft - pretty much demonstrates that. Only time will tell if it translates to success on the field but it’s an encouraging start.
