Panthers will win on Sunday (guaranteed)
Proudiddy replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
There's no way this poo turns around under Rhule. I never thought any circumstances would ever lead me to pull for us to lose if we weren't already eliminated from playoff contention, but Matt Rhule changed all of that. And typically, these are the kind of wins we get (you know, the ones that are only good for extending our misery), but we need to lose Sunday. -
The Hottest Seat in the NFL - Canfora on Rhule
Proudiddy replied to Paa Langfart's topic in Carolina Panthers
This. I advocated trading CMC since last season. It just doesn't make sense to invest big money in RBs in today's NFL. No matter how good they are, it almost always causes huge problems to give them big money. The best teams are constantly turning over that position, as it should be. -
I have been a MJ fan since I was a child, and despite my criticisms of him, I've held onto hope that he would figure it out as an owner here, but it just seems like we're spinning our wheels. I don't know how I would feel about it... but I also don't know how Simmons would know this.

But again, I maintain, if we did it more often, I'd be more inclined to credit the coaches. Our players typically make plays in spite of them, but Rhule's trying to make it look like we're on the verge of greatness because of these stats he handpicked, and that's not the case. For every good stat he throws out there to pat himself on the back, there are 7 more stats that show our offense has been absymal and dysfunctional. So, I'm not giving him credit for that. And as I mentioned in a another post earlier in this thread, when the cameras and mics went live, he was still going on about that recovered fumble that CMC ran for 39 yards or whatever it was in week 1 and how that should've counted as a rush, and if it did, we would have had 89 yards instead of 40. That's why I won't credit him for anything... he desperately wants to sell how close we are, and coaching-wise, we're not. With Norv and Scott Turner, CMC stayed healthy and put up record-setting numbers. Here, he relies on one or two big plays a game to boost up rather average numbers because the coaching and scheme sucks.
-
I didnt say that was a broken play. I just said it was a greater credit to the players than the playcalling. If we did it more often, I'd be more inclined to give the coaches more credit.

I agree with you there... every team is trying to set themselves up for that one big gash or deep bomb... the "explosives" as the football world likes to call them these days. And yes, they are the outliers. But I'm just not giving that to Rhule in this scenario because we aren't like other teams. He hasn't shown a consistent ability to make those plays happen or set up a defense so that we can hit them with an explosive later. We have one of, if not the worst offense in the league under Rhule. So, when we get big plays, I think it's more because of the players doing an extraordinary job rather than him or McAdoo dialing up something amazing on purpose. The fact we've only played 3 WRs for almost the entire game the first two weeks, ran the same plays multiple times, only ran two personnel groupings for the entire game in week 1, and the fact ESPN analysts could find that we were tipping our plays just by alignment of the RB makes it awfully hard to give Rhule any credit for anything.
-
Nope, definitely counts, but doesn't negate my argument. That run isn't a credit to coaching, scheme or Rhule... it's a credit to CMC making something happen. How'd the majority of his runs look throughout that game outside of that 49 yarder?
-
...annnnnnnnnd there you have it.
-
I dont agree. That doesn't mean he made the job any less difficult on his player, it means, when healthy, CMC is an all-pro talent that made things happen despite the circumstances. JMO...
-
To elaborate, Rhule's answer sounded like when you get asked a question you weren't prepared for in a job interview and you end up halfway through your answer and realize you were better off stopping about 3 minutes ago.
-
And for those that missed it, when the cameras went live, he was still going on about that recovered fumble from game 1 by CMC where he ran for 39 yards or whatever it was, and Rhule, through his poo-eating grin says, "but if they give us that, we're at 80 yards rushing instead of 40. But it's just one of those weird things you know?"
-
Newton saved it for the last question, annnnnnnd booooooooooy, was that a long, yammering, awkward answer.
-
Now, usually i wouldnt care this late in the week with this particular group of imbeciles who should've been fired long ago... but today, I'm waiting to see if they get asked about Orlovsky's breakdown.

His tweet is inacceptable.

Yeah Steelers threw in the towel.

If yall just saw what Garrett did to that grown man... Ickey had no reason to feel bad about his performance against him lol.
-
Yeah, Tomlin is gonna have to pull a miracle this year to maintain that winning season streak. They look bad. But, I think it's possible Pickett could provide what they're missing offensively and then the defense might look better. They usually hit their stride as the year goes on, but they look rough right now. But I think the Browns are for real. We'll see what happens with the defense with the guys that have went down tonight, but Garrett and that secondary are for real. And on offense, that run game is tough and it travels as it gets colder. TBH, I think a lot of people are going to be surprised at where they're sitting when Watson comes back.

Couple of things come to mind watching this... *Cleveland is legit this year *Brissett is also legit. He might not be flashy, but he's efficient, and again, I point out I suggested we should've signed him after he left Indy. *Trubisky is probably gonna be benched and not get another starting gig. *Myles Jack is getting the poo beat out of him. I saw him get pancaked on the last drive and took a long time to get up. A couple plays late he got trucked and again, took a long time to get up. And as I finished typing this, he just got trucked by Njoku and looked woozy. Damn. *Watching Clevelands offense makes it look so simple, and they're not even high-powered, but they move the ball... I know a lot of that is Chubb averaging 7+ ypc, but it just illustrates how bad our offense is.

Not relieving McAdoodoo of his negligence here, but again, this dysfunction has been present under Rhule every season. I cannot buy that McAdoodoo, with previous experience as an NFL OC and HC, would not catch this or think he could slide by with it purposely... no matter how inept he may or may not have been in his professional coaching career, he's been on this level and would notice this stuff quickly... Again, my suspicion is that Rhule has a specific idea for how the offense should be ran and only allows the OCs to operate within that very limited scope. Even when we dumped Brady and went to Rhule's HS Sweetheart for that few games last year, there was no significant change in the philosophy or playcalling. It has felt, like for 3 years, outside of that first 3 games last season, that every week teams have known exactly what plays we were running before we ran them... hell, teams have even come out and said just that. Remember Cam's game in Miami last season where everyone was dumping on him? Explain how Miami's defensive front knew exactly when he was going to throw and where to deflect that crazy amount of passes at the line they did. And then go back and look at the picks... they weren't on Cam, the DBs were literally running their routes for them and cut them off. Also, remember Robbie complaining that teams were sitting on everything underneath last season? And again, were on our third OC in 3 years now under Rhule and it all looks the same. Just as predictable... But regardless, this is beyond embarrassing. No way would I have ever imagined at any point that our team would reach this level of amateurism. Smh...

Sean Payton to coach in 2023 for the right team
Proudiddy replied to Ja Rhule's topic in Carolina Panthers
I can't see it. He had an added attachment to Garrett because he spent the majority of his career there as a player, specifically their Super Bowl years in the 90s... I always felt that was why he was so patient with Garrett. I don't get that same feeling with McCarthy. He seems to be skating on a lot thinner ice... -
I hope you find this as funny as I did
