  1. It took Ted Bundy 7 years to become an overnight serial killer... or something like that.
  2. If Murray is available, you go get him. It really is the only light you can see at the end of the QB tunnel for the foreseeable future, seeing as how we have backed ourselves into this corner... say what you want, but he's a proven winner and producer in the NFL at an elite level. He's a known commodity, and as the stats bear out, its a total crap shoot with drafting QBs high and hoping they become Murray, with teams more often than not whiffing big time. It would fix our biggest issue and is a lot easier to build around once you have that proven guy in there versus what we're trying to do now in building all of the pieces first and then hoping you happen upon some miracle like Seattle did with Russ. Even guys like Jimmy G and Mayfield are not exciting because we know they're those middling type guys who are just good enough to QB teams to the playoffs but not good enough to get them over the top... so until we find an elite talent there, we know we'll be spinning our wheels for awhile.
  3. As I've said before, even Rodgers and Brady would've looked like poo with the combo of the staff and OL here last season, but they still would look like NFL QBs. Same could be hypothetically said for Mayfield. Cam still produced TDs with it, and outside of the Dolphins game, looked really good passing the first couple of weeks. Darnold never looked like a competent NFL QB, even before he got here, which is why he should have never been here in the first place.
  4. I no doubt love Cam, but I'm not in either of those camps, Scot. As I've stated here ad nauseum, Cam was a once in a lifetime-type talent before the shoulder injury. We never saw a player with his size and ability EVER, either before or since, and we likely won't for a long, long time, if ever. He was truly special. Plenty of QBs have come in with the ability to run and pass, but none were ever able to do it the way he did, and he made it look easy. It still bothers me to think, what if he never attempted to make that tackle because of KB's lazy ass? He likely never hurts that shoulder and he's still slinging it 80 yards. The fact he didn't even get hurt on the actual plays that many thought he would, but instead a worthless tackle attempt after a pick. It's just sad... All that being said, thate why I compared Willis more to Lamar or Russ. I've seen the comps to Murray as well... again, with the caveat being he develops further, but that is a big IF. My bigger point in all of it is, if that happens and we passed him up even though we liked him because Rhule is on the hot seat and wanted someone with a lower ceiling but who could play immediately, thats an awful big flub for a guy who really shouldn't even be here still and shouldn't be given that authority considering. Not saying Willis will become great, but if he ends up a really good 10 year starter and we pick a guy who washes out in 3 or 4 years because Rhule is operating on his "dont get fired" timeline, then I have an issue. I hope whoever we pick is the right pick for the future, period. I dont know if Willis is that guy, but just saying he shouldn't be ruled out based off Rhule's fears of his own job security. I was big on the Willis train the last couple of months, and I still like him, but I won't be upset at all if we end up taking Ikwonu (sp?) at 6 and picking up a Corral or Howell later in addition to a Jimmy G or Mayfield. It's not ideal long-term for QB, but we don't have much of a choice this year, smh...
  5. Anyone who thinks Baker is "redundant" to Darnold has ZERO credibility in my book. ZERO. Darnold makes Mayfield look like prime Aaron Rodgers.
  6. Appreciate it, as always, Verge! My take after synthesizing it: I dont like the tidbit about Willis at all. IMO, he is the most dynamic QB in this class with the highest ceiling. I see a bit of Lamar or Russ in him, if he can develop further... and if that is indeed what he becomes, or at least day like a 10 year, quality starter in the league, and we passed him up because Rhule didn't want a guy he had to wait on because his ass is on fire, then that fuging sucks. I honestly hope he has very little input on the pick. Leave it to the guys with job security like Fitt and Morgan and folks whose job is to build the team, not save Rhule's job. It also irks me because, despite the great acquisitions we've made this offseason, I really feel Rhule has to make the playoffs at minimum to save his job - which I think is a huge ask... so, that guy and his cronies shouldn't be having the biggest input on these picks. I would love the tackle from NC St. I also really do like Corral in a trade down scenario... the dude has some Jake to him in terms of attitude, but with more athleticism. But man, reading how this is looking, it just seems we have a knack for falling one spot right out of where we need to be in the draft. I love Horn, but had we been one spot higher last year, we could've had Sewell, iirc. And it seems like that has been the case in several drafts for that matter.
  7. This would be perfect. I donttgink the Saints can even develop Blaine Gabbert 2.0 into anything more than what he is, which is average at best. And if they trade ahead if us to do it? Even better. Better chance for one of tackles to fall to us.
  8. Yeah, agreed, LP. I'm in the minority here because I like Robby and feel like last season was an aberration caused by a lot of different extenuating circumstances. But, this just isn't a good look. If we end up acquiring him, it becomes a media firestorm with questions about it every week. There are guys in the league all of the time who don't rock with other guys in their own locker room, but thats where it should stay. Now, in his defense, I understand him being especially vocal about the QB position considering what has taken place the last two seasons... but, you gotta know when to hold em, and know when to fold em.
  9. Baker is not the sexy get, but when healthy he looks like prime Aaron Rodgers compared to Darnold. I say if he can be had a for a cheap future pick, probably like a 3rd or 4th, I do it regardless of what the plans are for or what happens in the draft. If we add him before the draft, there's less pressure to reach for a QB early... now, if we're in love with a guy like Willis, you pull the trigger regardless, but from everything we've heard and seen, it sounds like we like these rookie QBs but not necessarily enough to take them at 6... which is why I would be 100% okay with trading for Baker and taking the BPA at 6 or being able to trade back a few spots, pick up a LT or QB and another pick. I wouldn't be overly hyped up about the acquisition, but I would be fine with it. Baker can win games, and at the very least, he isn't going to often be the reason you lose them like Teddy and Sam the last two seasons.
  10. Was just sitting here pondering this question, because of the potential that we may get a franchise bookend in the draft and outside of Gross, it's kind of been a potluck of OK in the past. Brockermeyer, Steussie, Oher? My vote would probably be Steussie off the top of my head because he was part of what was likely the best OL we ever fielded, even though I seem to recall him struggling a bit with penalties as his tenure wore on here. Regardless, I guess the point is, the list is not very impressive and in the past, perhaps in my immaturity, I was just always so put off by drafting an OLineman in the 1st round, especially early, because I feel like that's where you need a franchise impact playmaker... but, after watching our once in a lifetime, franchise QB get the poo beat out of him until it essentially made him a shell of himself as a passer, I'm not gonna lie... I really like Willis, Corral, and Howell at the QB spot at various points in the draft, but if we decide to take one of these LTs at 6, it will be the first time ever I have been excited about taking a OL with our first rounder.
  11. Just came to say fug Bill Pollan... And nothing against Pickett, but fug him too.
  12. Good for Gilly, but you're telling me he signed elsewhere for almost exactly what we paid Donte "sure to lose you a game or two all by myself once or twice a year" Jackson? That was a horrible decision.
  13. This is absolutely horrible. Truly tragic. So young, and from what I read, seemed like he was coming into his own with the Steelers. Well-liked and had a chance to compete for the starting role this season. And he was a beast in college... I read the updated story said he tried to cross the 595 interstate, and I just never understand that. There is almost absolutely ZERO reason I would ever attempt to cross a interstate on foot, EVER. And especially at night. Walk along the shoulder until you get to an overpass if you have to get to the other side. Not speaking ill of Haskins, but just with anything in life, if the risk far outweighs the reward, why do it? It's so sad. Thoughts with his family. This sucks.
  14. I started investing last year or so, and on a very novice level, but what I've gleaned so far from my experience is the house always wins. If you know how to kiss ass well, rub elbows and all that bullshit, learn the ropes, learn how to game the game, and got in some experience trading with other people's money on the house side before opening your own hedge fund, I don't think it's all that hard to become a billionaire, or at least a very, very well off hundred-millionaire. My experience trading has also shaped how I look at Tepper quite a bit... before I started, I thought he was some brilliant genius. After seeing how the market works, I don't think that at all. Is he smart? Absolutely. But, the guys running hedges aren't Einstein, they're more like scammers who hit it big by coming up with creative ways to rip off others and poo on the little man. They just have to know when to make certain deals to really capitalize on timing and such, but it's set up in their favor so there is really no way for them to lose. They're going to make money, its just a matter of how much. And the amazing thing is, so much of what they make is really by ruining the lives of everyday working and middle class people. You know how many companies he probably shorted into oblivion causing loss of jobs and income for countless people? You know how many retail investors he screwed out of life-changing money by essentially stealing and using loop holes that are illegal but our shitty ass government doesn't so their jobs in oversight or preventing it from happening because they're profiting off of it too? No doubt in my mind, Tepper is an absolute poo bag. Don't let the "just a regular guy from humble beginnings" poo fool you. This dude has major dirt on his hands and he couldn't give a fug less about fans or any person not named David Tepper. He got rich by fuging people over and being great at it. Period.
  15. Good post. But, personally, I would've ripped my shirt open and asked him if my chest was ample.
  16. He clearly has evidence of Goodell getting buttfuged or something. This dude has done everything - sexual harassment, racism, creating and fostering a hostile work environment, embezzlement, stealing, maintaining a culture so toxic that it got a coach from another team fired , etc., and he still has a fuging team. Meanwhile, Goodell pulled some strings and had JR dismissed for just a fraction of what that asshole has done and is still doing, so he could give us grapes for balls Tepper.
  17. He also just said they purposely avoided Russ in SEA after the Senior Bowl because they knew they were going to take him and didn't want teams picking up on it. Hard to really evaluate anything draft-wise at this point.
  18. Man, this is tough to watch. You know when you heard a pitch initially and it sounded great, but then you come back and talk with that person again and you can tell you're listening to a con man and want to bail immediately? Yeah, he's a joke.
  19. Wasn't Orlovsky caping for Sam last year? I appreciate his ability to break down Xs and Os, but he can keep his QB analyses.
  20. Which is why these moves make no sense unless they were going to trade for a big name this offseason. Why create cap if you aren't gonna use it?
  21. Is this like the "can't wait to coach Cam Newton" thing? I hope so. fug Sam Darnold.
  22. Matt Rhule is trying to say Cam wants to play for a winner AND have a chance to play, and I don't think we're offering the ideal situation for either of those criteria. Cam knows Rhule is an idiot college coach, and as far as playing, we have probably only guaranteed him the ability to start early until whoever we draft is ready... and if I'm Cam, after Rhule sat me to end the season in favor of Sam, I'm not coming back.
  23. Yeah, but it's all about the frame. Corral's 212 lbs looks a lot different than the other two guys at similar weight.
