Any idea what the issue was on JAX for them to have given up on him? -

Damn son. I love me some Fitt. This dude is a fuging maniac and the traumatized Panther fan in me just wants to give that big old bear a hug for fixing all of the poo the previous two GMs left behind in less than a year. I just want to cry tears of joy in his arms between the moments where he isn't using them to wheel and deal and pillage other teams of their talent. Fitt. You are the one.

Wow!!!! WTF!?!?!? Not happy about giving up another 3rd, but he was a great prospect coming out and I believe in this staff's ability to develop talent to their fullest potential. This could be a huge get. A couple of other things... crazy we've traded away or released like half of our FA class lol. And the amount of hype the Darnold to Arnold thing had me believing he was a valued part of the offense for the foreseeable future in the staff's eyes. I was never impressed though... And I guess the staff wasn't either lol. And lastly, I hope we still bring in Sherman. Interested to see if we're still interested after this. -
Hey guys, remember that time Brian Burns sacked Jameis and the refs ruled it was an incomplete pass instead of a fumble bc the defender caused him to throw it backwards by hitting him? Yeah, that was cool.
-
Great point. It indeed has made a huge difference. We really didn't realize how much JR was holding us back with his penny pinching until he was gone.

Definitely feel like it's starting to shift under Rhule. I feel we're on that precipice similar to what happened in Seattle once Schneider and Carroll got there.

Hey guys, remember how after just having the most watched TNF game in years and having a great performance from our rejuvenated young QB in a win despite all of the injuries we incurred, the next day national media glossed over it to talk for hours on end about Justin Fields getting his first start? ...

Cam came in here with one good receiver and a TE and lit the world on fire as a rookie. Team building is part of it, but some of this stuff is just bad. Going back to HS, if you throw late, bad things happen, and that flea flicker throw was about as late as they get... Lawrence can't do that, regardless of the staff or team around him. They had the lead... no reason to do that there. Now, as I mentioned with Fields, Nagy has shown himself to be a QB killer at this point, and a pretty crappy coach. So, I think its entirely possible the system is not helping Fields. But again, some of the decisions he has made when the read looks pretty simple and consistently locking onto one read and one read only, the early results are not encouraging.

I'm loving it. May they suffer through an eternity of mediocrity from this point on.
-
Yeah, I'm over it, but it does suck to just never get any respect. No matter the years that go by, the amount of time we've been in the league, the players and coaches that come and go, a change in ownership - we have to be the most disrespect or at minimum, the least respected team in the league.
-
Also. Interesting how the narrative shifts with NO blowing out the Pats, now they're the same team that blew out Green Bay and they're elite... but when we beat them, they were horrible and week 1 was a mirage.

Yeah, as a guy who had Fields and Horn on my personal board, and loved picking Horn but was scared we also may have missed on a big talent in Fields... yeah, I don't think we missed on much. Now, Nagy is like Gase-lite at this point, so that may have something to do with his struggles today, but he looks horrible. Yes, their line sucks, but he isn't helping himself at all. His 4.4 speed looks more like 5 flat and he literally is not looking past his first read. They've ran multiple RPOs with a keeper/throw option designed off of the option, and he kept it two different times for no gain when he had a WR streaking wide open. He looks bad. And that "the game isn't any faster" stuff isn't aging too well. Also, Trevor Lawrence looks like ass, and everytime they show Urban Meyer I see, "I can't wait to take that USC job" all over his face. Aint no way they should've ran a flea flicker up a FG, and the fact that Lawrence threw that... wtf was he thinking? Also, who decided to hire Aqib Talib to do play by play?

Richard Sherman makes a lot of sense right now

Damn... three? THREE broken bones in his foot off a non-contact injury. I dont think I've ever heard of that happening, EVER. And judging how close he is with his family/dad, my inclination is they will elect to shut him down and give it plenty of time to heal. Selfishly, as a fan, if there is a possibility to get him back at 100% this year, then I would like to, but I also want to make sure he's healthy for the rest of his career. As much as I hate that he'll miss almost the entirety of his rookie year, I think I want him to take his time and fully heal, even if it means missing the rest of the season. But man, this sucks.

Per ESPN App. Interesting no word on having brought in any corners...

Wow, you read my mind. I dont know much about these injuries, but as I was typing that, I even thought in regards to my "bones heal differently," that blood flow/supply to certain bones may be different depending where they are... but, I had no idea that was actually the case if thats what he is dealing with. Wow. Again, I just really hope what we've heard is the absolute worst case scenario and hasn't been confirmed. Hopefully the news is better than we expect.
-
True, but I'm just pointing out, everyone and every bone heals differently. And with it being more than one bone broken, that makes the injury as a whole more complex. Now you're not just checking for healing in one bone, you're treating and following up multiple. I just think that's more concerning than if it was one bone.
-
Yup, didnt know he had tweeted this when I created the thread, but when I heard him specifically state "bones," and not "bone" on the show this morning, I had a feeling it wasn't just gonna be a few weeks. Still hoping that's the worst case scenario and we get some more encouraging news once they look at it... Also, sounded bad even in the post-game speech, the team sounded pretty down and Rhule as well. When he addressed them, he mentioned CMC and Horn went down and Horn was in the other room "hurting," so he asked the other players to spread some positivity to those guys.
-
Was watching GMF on NFLN on the re-air, and Rapaport specifically stated Horn broke "bones," as in plural, in his foot. He also said we should know more about the severity of CMC's hamstring later today. So, I'll use this as a place holder for when we get an update on both or either, and hopefully it's all good news!
-
Yup, the Jameis sack where he threw it backwards. That is the 2nd one that refs have stolen from Burns that I can remember. The other one was the second strip sack against Herbert last year. I dont know who was in on the sack last night that they rules an incomplete pass, but again, I don't see that happen to other teams. I almost wanted Rhule to throw the challenge flag just to get our guys that sack lol.

All the NFL cares about is their bottom line. They are behind those calls and points of emphasis. They are influenced by both storylines and betting and call games as such, that's why complaining won't do anything. They ask the officials to call the game in these ways... if the NFL didn't do poo about SB50, then they ain't doing poo about last night. You just have to hope that one day, of we get the chance to play meaningful playoff games again, that we're the better team and the NFL doesn't decide to intervene to produce a better storyline for one of their darlings.

Sam Darnold "optimistic that CMC will be back this season."
Proudiddy replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
TBH, people just need to accept this is who he is now. His frame was a concern coming out of college and people questioned whether he would be able to run between the tackles or be a featured every down back bc of it. Well, he went out of his way to prove he could his first couple of years, and he took a beating in doing so. That concern about his frame, although he defied the odds early, may have been legitimate, bc it appears his frame can't hold up to that much cumulative damage. I hope he isn't forever bitten by the injury bug now, but he's gonna have to stay healthy to change my mind, and it's not looking good... I dont think these injuries are one-offs, like we thought with each one last season... I think his body is just showing the delayed effects of the mileage incurred his first few years. We need to start preparing like he isn't available and be pleasantly surprised if he is, from here on out. -
I don't think people truly get how impressive it is that both Burns and Reddick are averaging a sack a game lol. AND, the refs even robbed us of another sack and forced fumble at the end of the game when they called it an incomplete pass. Also, saw a stat last night in the FS1 ticker that we allowed the fewest yards through 3 games since the '92 Buddy Ryan-led Eagles. Incredible.
