  1. Feels that way, but they only beat the Saints 20-13. They'll probably win, but I don't know if they can be relied upon to deliver a blowout. Jaguars should have won by at least 20.
  2. The drafts are really not looking good. XL obviously had a bad game. Jonathan Brooks is still in the garage until his 3rd season. And check out this interesting play by Trevin Wallace.
  3. The unfortunate thing is statistics are always about large enough sample sizes. But football is about small sample sizes. The entire game can be decided on one bonehead play. And that's rated the same as every other play basically. That ends up swinging 1 of only 17 games. In baseball, for example, you have 162 games for things to even out. Every day players literally get 600 at bats a year. There's no sample sizes like that in football anywhere.
  4. 100%. If it was all attitude and heart, QBs like Josh Allen would be coming off of a factory line. He's a physical freak. He came in super talented as a passer. He had serious flaws that were fixable. He had the development support to help him fix those flaws. It's like saying anyone can be as good of a shooter as Steph Curry if they're coachable enough.
  5. We're the NFL team version of the guy that's just staying at his current job for 6 months so he doesn't have 10 roles in the last year on his resume.
  6. On the one hand I think continuity could be positive, but I don’t know that these guys have earned it. I think it’s probably time to start over.
  7. Did Ken Dorsey really fix it? He's a QB whisperer, or he gets credit for coaching the unicorn?
  8. We are going to see increasingly more Anthony Richardsons. Teams will reach on guys with physical tools but they don't seem to have the first clue about how to develop them as QBs. Or what their weaknesses are as players that prevent them from being great NFL QBs. Its just a lottery. Get out there and get killed so we can draft the next guy.
  9. I think its a bit reductive to say its about coachability. A new class of freaks enters the NFL every year and we do not have 1 Josh Allen per year to show from it. Far from it really. The reality is that Josh Allen is 1 of 1, and bad teams will continue to spend countless resources flailing at high ceiling project QBs in the first round. Saying its about coachability makes it sound like the QB development problem is solved. When the reality is, if you could reproduce Josh Allen, then Josh Allen would have no value. But the opposite is true. He's probably the MVP.
  10. Yeah I'm not against picking someone with physical tools. But Josh Allen is creating a lot of fools gold in front offices' eyes. They still have to be good at football at the end of the day.
  11. 10 more years of athletic unicorns being picked in the first round.
  12. Like how they drafted a QB in the 7th round even though they gave up all of that for Lance? You know. Because QBs don't always work out.
  13. He's talked about like he's the worst thing in Panthers history, but he wasn't even bad. He just wasn't worth what he cost. But he was still good enough to be a starter in the NFL.
  14. They could. But they'd rest starters before the 4th quarter.
  15. Gilbert was 2 1sts for a decent starting DT. A bad deal but I can't see how its rationally worse than this.
  16. Not sure how you can argue Gilbert being worse? It was bad but this one takes the top spot.
  17. Sunk cost is for moving forward. We’re looking back at who’s the biggest bust. The cost is relevant.
  18. I don’t see how you can say that they don’t matter. We gave up a haul and the 1st rounder became the 1st overall pick the following year. It’s a tragedy.
  19. Yea I get the same feeling. Bryce and Caleb both fizzle out and nobody cares cause the panthers and bears always suck.
