  1. The height thing has been debated into oblivion. His physical talent is what is impossible to ignore. His main selling point was his QB brain and how he was years ahead of his age in terms of his QB intelligence. He skipped the combine and was awful on deep passes at his own proday while CJ Stroud showed off his natural ability in that key area. Now 4 games into his rookie season we are asking ourselves if he has the physical talent to be a franchise QB. It is not an overreaction when the other QB's taken in the top 5 are very clearly showing off that phsyical talent. You either have that or you don't and it isn't fair but that's the sport. The criticism is valid.
  2. Definitely some players and coaches started believing their own hype. But the cracks were surfacing as early as week 1 in preseason. Since then we've only regressed further with our super processor QB. Beyond how we feel about our offensive roster because we've argued it into submission at this point. Reich should not survive this season. I don't care about people saying it's early. He's already been fired before and he's not a young offensive mind. He's Ron Rivera on offense. Time to go.
  3. I'm beginning to feel about Icky how I feel about Bryce Young. Great guy intelligent says the right things but simply does not look like a good football player. Both could pull a 180 and turn things around this season or even next season. Or this is just what they are in this sport. Feel good stories do not always amount to All-Pro NFL players. But they do have one thing going for them and that is our head coach looks like a complete dud of a hire and we need to get a look at them and everyone else on offense with a different coach running things. Reich is not the guy.
  4. If you're having to go back to 1998 to feel better about the guy you picked it's not a good sign.
  5. Where are all the Stroud haters? They have got to be in SHAMBLES. They dragged that mans name through the mud like he owed them money and cursed out their mother.
  6. If we are going to have a firesale on our defense we probably should have done so before trading the farm for a rookie QB. Hardly anyone on this defense is going to be consistently motivated to turn in pro bowl performances week in and week out when backup Andy Dalton is the best available QB on the roster.
  7. Wait now the Texans have had dominant all pro receivers all along just waiting for the right QB to drop into their lap? It couldn't be that CJ Stroud is elevating those around him and he also did so at Ohio St?
  8. Respectfully disagree. If you give the MVP to anyone on the 49ers it's Kyle Shanahan. McCaffrey looks like a new man and is having the career resurgence other former Panthers have had because of Shanahan and he has been motivated and also reinvigorated by being removed from the team. It's just like when we cut Steve Smith. I don't think you get the 49ers version of CMC or the Ravens version of 89 without the trade or the release. Both were burned out by the awfulness of the Panthers by the end.
  9. No point arguing who is worse. All meddlers all awful. Being in that company is all that needs to be said.
  10. Unfortunately this wasn't off the mark. Even more unfortunate this is even a step down from Bridgewater. We can talk about the calls we can talk about the scheme we can talk about the receivers we can talk about Reich. But 35 year old Andy Dalton was out there slinging it in hostile territory in Seattle.
  11. Obviously no one here is in the room with our front office and we cannot confirm. But Tepper is on video saying he told Bryce Young about 8 months ago we wanted him. Once Tepper and Nicole showed up to Bryce's proday and embraced him all odds of him as the pick began shifting overwhelmingly to Bryce Young. If your boss and his wife love the kid who the hell are you to say no? It's obvious at this point based on the Matt Rhule hire that David Tepper is very hands on. He's in and on the phone in like every behind the scenes videos of our picks getting phone calls on draft night even the failed long snapper we drafted (lol). He made zero attempt to confer or even speak to anyone with years of NFL experience before hopping on his jet with Marty Hurney and swooning over Matt Rhule. Clearly he meddles.
  12. Well now that you mention that. We as Panthers fans have taken glee in watching Rhule look bad since we fired him. We did the same with Ron Rivera for a time. Then we came to the realization that all we've done since firing him is hire downgrades. Maybe it's time we worry about our own backyard so to speak. Matt Rhule was and stil is laughing all the way to the bank. The breadcrumbs of this disaster all lead to David Tepper.
  13. People are still blaming Matt Rhule? Stockholm Syndrome...
  14. Absolutely all true. But I fear it boils down to something even worse. The Tepper's overruled and steered the pick toward Bryce Young.
  15. He's one of the few players that seems to give a poo from what I've seen. But with the way our offense has looked and the number of wasted drives I would not blame him or anyone else on the defense if they stopped giving full effort as the game goes on. You have to reward your defense. We have probably the worst offense in the league.
  16. Hmm who else on the Panthers can we blame for this passing chart?
  17. I can't speak for others but the last thing I want is to be proven right about Bryce Young. And I was for Stroud. I want a franchise QB I would accept whomever short small big tall just give me a winner. But the folks who are now looking down on others for expressing legitimate concern about his viability as a franchise QB are not helping matters either. This is not a good time for anyone. And to be clear. We all make mistakes and plenty of people have been wrong about draft picks over the years. Even people like Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly who have been vocally pro Bryce Young. No one is perfect. Honestly if we were a fan of any other team we would be laughing at the fact this is even a debate. This whole debacle as worse than I could have expected. It's very unfortunate. I do not wish any ill on any player coach or front office member beyond criticism of the team. But for a product that is marketed and sold to fanbases and after all the money these teams get from cities across the country for these expensive stadiums I think online criticism is the least people with the Panthers should be worried about. This is a business as the saying goes or so I've been told over and over and over by Panthers fans.
  18. I agree it's toxic now. But what else would it be given the circumstances given our losing history and what we gave up to pick #1 with an 0-4 start? This kid was mentioned in the same breath as Drew Brees Steph Curry and even Michael Jordan at one point by people here. You couldn't say anything perceived to burst a bubble or you just didn't know football. Now the shoe is on the other foot and people want the place cleaned up. Sounds hypocritical.
  19. Some of the loudest pro Bryce Young folks who talked down to other people months back are now ready to leave the huddle because they don't like what they're reading now. Ironic.
  20. Haha yeah let's blame the fans for the team having 7 winning seasons in three decades.
  21. This "but if they played on the Panthers they would suck" coping mechanism is peak Carolina Panthers fanbase vibes.
  22. CJ Stroud with a 52 yard bomb as his team is blowing out the Steelers who we couldn't even hang with at home last season lol Keep coping about Bryce Young ya'll.
