Which QB Best Fits Reichs RPO Style Offense?
frankw replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
Simple bias. Calling any of these QB prospects "elite" before a single NFL snap is an obvious giveaway. They all have to prove it at this level same as any QB before them. -
You are a man of exquisite culture and taste. Happy Easter!

Dean Jones from CatCrave on Panthers #1 pick
frankw replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Everybody with a twitter account wants to tell everyone else what they "think" will happen. -
Yeah there are examples that can support either side of the argument. We all have opinions I respect that. On the whole you can make the case BY is a lower risk than AR. But I don't think they are as far apart as some suggest. As I've said there are many things Young does that are very impressive. Myself I'm just assessing if maybe through this process we are giving him more credit than he's earned. None of these prospects have proven anything at the NFL level. We can break down their attributes and assign pros and cons. But they will have to put in the work and have the desire to be great. I just hope we make the right choice.

It's odd how anyone can be so scared of Richardson but not Young. Both have high bust potential for different reasons. But unlike Bryce Young who isn't going to suddenly grow several inches and wake up one day and not be the smallest starter in the NFL Richardson can absolutely develop the football IQ necessary to take the next step. Honestly some people are going a little overboard hyping Young's own processing and football IQ. He isn't professor Xavier and everyone else is a total knothead. I would absolutely be considering Anthony Richardson if I were our staff.

If there were ever a time for the NBA to take pity on our franchise and finally give us the top pick this would be it. But I just don't see it.

Panthers sign recently unretired NT John Penisini

Worth the signing for the name alone. -
Alright all endless debate aside that was really funny and also very valid.

It still boils down to what translates to the NFL. We can knock Stroud for how he will react to being blitzed but his accuracy footwork and ball placement are major keys that will absolutely translate. Young has adequate arm strength and good accuracy but what the biggest supporters don't want to talk much about is how different his game will have to look in the NFL if he wants to survive a 17 game season for the next 10 plus years. You have to remove some of his wow plays if you want to keep him clean. He's going to have to adapt. If there were a staff capable of doing that this is it.

I disagree. But your input is appreciated. Anywho I'll remember to pile on you next time you're temp banned on Thanksgiving for posting chicks hogtied and stuffed like a turkey.

I see you wasted no time with that poo reaction Happy Easter to you and yours🫡

There's been a lot of shitposting going on but comparing Bryce to Cam and Stroud to Gabbert is probably the most egregious I've seen in some days.

Tepper talking to Saban in his office? Oh boy. Just let the coaches make the determination and choose I'll accept their choice.

I'm sure someone can dig into the #'s on how often Reich ran shotgun vs under center. Bryce definitely doesnt have a noodle arm but some pro Young folks are overrating his arm strength. Didn't he go 1-5 deep at his own pro day?

If you're clinging to Wilson/Murray as your best comp it isn't going well. One has battled multiple injuries and the other just had one of the worst seasons for any QB and hasn't done anything of note since the Legion of Boom went bust. McCaffrey?

"Hey guys maybe it's risky drafting one of the 3 smallest QB's in the last half century who would become the current smallest QB in the NFL" "WELL MAYBE WE JUST SHOULDN'T DRAFT ANYONE AT ALL HMM??" This debate is entertaining.
-
I hear you the best we can do is look at data and the past and compare and contrast. Honestly though I think BY is 190ish at best that's just my opinion. But yes I will be relieved when we can get this over with and all rally behind our QB whoever he will be. And yes even if it's Young I will hope for the best.
-
The argument isn't that any other QB won't get hurt it's looking at the risk level. I can't speak for everyone else but for me if it boils down to high risk I'd rather bank on our staff with decades of wisdom developing Anthony Richardson.
-
For sure but he will be the smallest starting QB in the NFL. It's getting to the point folks are just willfully ignoring realities with this situation.

Haha I hear ya man. The weight is a topic we are just going to have to accept if he is indeed under heavy consideration for the pick. He could have put the whole thing to bed at his pro day but what's done is done. He's got a lot of things about his game to like. But the talk of his football IQ may be reaching a point where it's being overstated. That's a very important tool. But he has limitations to a degree as a passer as well. Anywho in general I feel for the sanity of some folks and what I see are lofty expectations being forced upon him we should be direct about the state of things. I'm getting vibes around the BY discussion like we did with Matt Corral. And those talks about him we were riding a high after just drafting him until we saw how small he looked and played in a preseason game. Bryce is smaller. We are playing with fire if we draft him and stand pat on the OL and do not invest BIG in protecting him.

Brother let's be real his playing weight isn't 200.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz on the #1 pick
frankw replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's amusing anyone believes the NFL wants the Panthers telling everyone who the pick is 3 whole weeks out.
