My guy. We shipped him off to the Bears. Yeah it's gonna be tough to win in Chicago. As for our Panthers. I mean we've had many great players here that have lost a lot. Does that diminish them too?

I don't think anyone who is not associated with the team can say whether or not he was happy being here. All we had were rumors about his personal life. Regardless. He is still 4th on our all time franchise receiving yards behind only Greg Olsen. So while folks are free to diminish that we still need to see these younger WR's take the reigns and exceed his numbers here.

Wednesday practice tweets (joint practice with the Browns!)
frankw replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not comparing positions I'm saying young players adjusting and struggling is common. One is a first overall pick the other is basically a second rounder who we all knew would need time to develop. There were no people on the Bryce train before the draft blaring over a loudspeaker that Bryce Young would need nearly 3 seasons and elite weapons across the offense to look serviceable. -
I mean at the end of the day it didn’t have to be that dire. Nobody put a gun to our head and forced us to trade DJ Moore.

XL basically had one season of production. TMac had multiple. We knew Legette was going to be a work in progress when we drafted him. If you folks had all this patience for Bryce and still do as a third year player idk why you harp so bad on Xavier before he's even played a single snap in the regular season of his second year. -
Possible the Browns are looking to trade Shadeur?
frankw replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
With Shedeur it's a toss up. I think he's either going to flourish or flop. The talent is there. It's the things in between. And with an era in sports where distractions are everywhere it's a recipe for disaster. But I don't have anything against him. -

What's done is done. We gotta hope it works out. But I will say. It is absolutely bewildering to see such frequent arguments against healthy competition for the most consequential position on the football field for a sports franchise with 7 winning seasons in 30 years. -
BREAKING: Jaycee Horn in Minor Car Accident
frankw replied to WUnderhill's topic in Carolina Panthers
In some instances I agree athletes should have drivers. But in this case he was parked if I read correctly. Driver or no driver unfortunately there are dangerous people on the roads. Especially in the Charlotte area. They are lunatics. -

I was wondering why Jaycee was in street clothes. Apparently he was in a car accident this morning. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/panthers-jaycee-horn-will-not-practice-wednesday-after-being-involved-in-car-accident/ -

Nice to see Coker and Legette doing well in the red zone. TMac is still adjusting as a rookie but we know what he can do. -

Given their depth at the position idk why they would. It's going to be a long season. -

I know there's a lot of hype around Renfro but I feel like he faces a steep climb to ever get back to where he was. With this hamstring injury lingering now I would hate to see the Panthers make a tough roster decision they later regret in order to keep room for him. -
Gurley had a phenomenal season without a doubt but the fact is he was practically their best receiver. That's not a glowing statement for the WR room. And again. Goff was 7th in the entire league in yards per pass attempt in his first full season as a starter. This past season he was 2nd in the league in yards per pass attempt only behind Lamar Jackson. Meanwhile our QB has thrown for more than 300 yards in a game just once across 28 career starts. Goff has thrown for 300 or more yards in 43 games. They do not belong in the same conversation.

It's a preseason game, but...losing is not an option.
frankw replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
He didn't post anything overly egregious. That just goes to show how fragile the psyche of some folks have become under the weight of the trade the Tepper's pushed for. We've been willing to blur the line for a lot of things to convince ourselves of this or that to justify the investment. For the sake of the huddle let's hope for the best case scenario in 2025. -

I definitely do not want to be the first team Shedeur has a really good game against. But none of it really matters. I mean Bryce and the offense looked good against the Bills backups last year and most people breathed a sigh of relief until weeks 1 and 2. In the end it doesn't mean anything. I won't be a believer until I see competitive football early in the regular season. -
CPcavedweller is either not playing with a full deck or trolling. He will randomly and unprompted bash one of our best pass rushers in franchise history but then go to war for the likes of Justin Tucker.

If running to pass really works we got market cornered!!!
frankw replied to Doc LRB's topic in Carolina Panthers
Chuba also missed two games. The single season rushing leader in franchise history is DeAngelo Williams with 1,515 yards. Stephen Davis is second with 1,444 yards. And if Chuba had played those other two games he could have made a push for Davis's record no doubt. For all the talk of lack of weapons that's a pretty damn productive season. -
They're starting Sanders. Don't care if we win or lose but the Panthers 1's better be ready to bring some heat for the home crowd.

Chuba had just shy of 1200 rushing yards and we were still 30th in passing yards per game. The opposing defense has to fear your passer for this to come to fruition. -
Even if he didn’t have the extra baggage he was 32nd in FG% in 2024 and 16th (only 2 spots ahead of Eddie P) in 2023. End this thread.

Oh man don't even give me this revisionist history. So many people dunked on others predraft all but declaring Bryce was so good and generational and head and shoulders far away the best prospect in the draft that we would be able to compete right away and wouldn't need to sink the salary cap and multiple more first round picks into surrounding him with talent. 3 years later we are top 5 in the league in salary cap allocation to the offensive line and we've invested 2 first round picks in WR one of them an 8th overall for the first time in franchise history. Goff threw for all those yards and touchdowns and go look at his WR room that year. Not a single 1k WR. Even Cupp didn't even crack 900 yards. We can hope Bryce becomes a franchise QB without this foolishness to try and shoehorn him into a conversation he doesn't yet belong in. I certainly hope to see him earn that this season. But I don't have to contort myself into a pretzel to make him appear something that he is not yet currently. It's that straightforward.
