Agreed. Not to worry. We'll have every other thread to discuss it in
-
I mean that's his sole reason for being here. He doesn't win football games. He's here to keep Bryce comfortable.
-
At this point the Tepper's seem to be leading you around by the nose based on how much time you spend carrying water for them so I'm not surprised you're struggling. We are the only team who saw fit to install Andy Dalton with his zero career playoff wins as a culture cornerstone and a key mentor. Even the putrid Saints wanted no parts of that. Truth hurts
-
The worst case scenario is another losing season with no QB on the roster worth a damn to give the young offensive players any level of meaningful development. This isn't about winning. This was always going to be a losing season. You can rabble about people being butthurt but you know as well as I do the odds that we will be discussing this again are fairly high. And the folks who are being most indignant about people discussing it now will probably go missing like always.
-
They could have easily kept him as a backup to mentor an upcoming draft pick but they had seen enough. They chased after Carr and probably saved us as supposedly we were hot for him too at one point. Unfortunately we made an even worse panic move. But. That's the Panthers for you.
-
It's good that there are some people out here with basic sense. Unfortunately this is very likely going to be a frequently revisited conversation on the huddle as the season progresses.
-
It's crazy the level of value the Panthers place on veterans like Thielen and Dalton. And folks look at our win percentage the last several years and can't figure out what's gone wrong.
-
I see the rationale from some folks regarding the level of play from terrible QB's like Andy Dalton as being like someone who has been in abusive relationship for so long they make excuses for their abusers and even defend them. Very sad. But it happens.
-
He is one of the nicest guys. Doesn't make him a good QB. When the New Orleans Saints are more adept at identifying this that is a big problem. And let's be real. If this coaching staff thought anything positive of Andy Dalton they would not have fully exhausted any and every opportunity to get his ass off the field after horrendous perfomances. Thumb sprain last year they milked it for all it was worth. Then this year in preseason it was an elbow strain after he threw a pick and sacked himself. You guys need to face the music sooner or later.
-
I mean reality says this is simply not true. He is bad. He was bad with the Saints and that's why they rejected him and moved on. You are living in an alternate reality. That's why we cannot come to an agreement.
-
Doesn't help the guy cheering you on in this is the same one that just goes around pooing posts in anger like an angst filled teenager. Appreciate the convos kungfoodude.
-
Sad truth is Scott Fitterer put forth significantly more effort with this QB room. And he was a complete trashcan.
-
I completely reject this "aw shucks it sucks but what could we have done" narrative. Our FO could have not continued to treat our first overall pick like a delicate newborn and firmly explain to him that there will be new life in the QB room going forward for the good of the TEAM and it will make they and him better in the long run and drive him to step up his game. How is any of that a bad thing? Your fellow fans aren't the enemies here bub. The FO and ownership set this in motion and if you are tired of hearing about it you should talk to them. Nobody needs permission to discuss these issues.
-
The fact that anyone with a shred of self respect would log on here and try to crack jokes about the Texans QB room to attempt to dunk on folks here asking for basic competency in the QB room is off the charts cringe. 3 playoff wins between Stroud and Mills but yeah the Panthers are definitely putting forth as much effort at the most important position.
-
At this point if you're arguing against common sense on this issue just go ahead and put David Tepper's mug in your avatar and make it official. Tired of people lining up to cape for this incompetence.
-
Why do we keep circling back to this being about a savior? Nobody is asking for a franchise QB. We aren't looking for "the" answer. We're looking for someone younger with any level of potential that will give this young offensive roster the chance to develop in what is in all likelihood not going to be a winning season in the event Bryce Young goes backwards again. Nobody in this offense is going to develop one iota with Andy Dalton Jack Plummer or Bryce Perkins. This is about what is best for our young roster. We cannot afford to continue squandering these seasons of potential development if we ever want to establish a new core and begin making a playoff push at any point before 2030.
-
FYI their backup QB Davis Mills has a playoff win. That's more than our entire QB room. But go off.
-
As far as this list goes. It's largely popularity based. The Panthers have been a joke. The team has to prove they can successfully shed that reputation. Until then you won't see any Panthers on these lists.
-
The entire draft scouting department should have been purged with Fitterer IMO. The fact there were no major changes was and is a bad sign.
-
We have without question one of the worst QB rooms in the league and your key concern is people having the audacity to be talking about it lol.

Josina Anderson: Panthers NOT trading Adam Thielen
frankw replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Stupid. Take the pick and use it to add a cheap rookie next year or package it to try and acquire some LB depth. If Bryce Young taking the next step as a first overall pick hinges on 35 year old Adam Thielen he's already cooked. -
Also to be abundantly clear. There is a ton of regular season game tape of Bryce Young looking just as flustered and skittish as the way he did in preseason against the Texans so if your position is it's irrelevant well that's too bad because sorry the word is already out to every defense we'll face.
-
Coincidentally I've had people tell me him looking good in a joint practice is more important than preseason. So maybe you guys who are so eager to be sycophants should pick a position.
