That happens with every QB class in every draft. People pick a prospect and head to their respective corners. Will Levis got more hate from fans than anyone in the class. Why aren't you drumming up sympathy for him? Anyways fans have no impact on a players draft stock. The media gave CJ Stroud the Cam Newton treatment. He knew it too. For the most part Bryce Young was handled with kid gloves from the media. The fact that you perceive throwing at the combine for a QB under consideration for the top pick to be only for "stans" whatever the hell that means tells me you have your own agenda. What is your definition of "having his back"? I'm guessing it's pretending everything is going well like a mindless drone. Sorry bud the world doesn't work that way. I want him to succeed as much as anyone I don't want my local team to be the joke of the league. If he and the rest of the team play like poo until the game is lost that's what I'm going to call it.

Sometimes the incompetence is so ridiculous all you can do is laugh.

I honestly have no idea how anyone can be crowing about Bryce Young receiving hate before the draft when in fact it was CJ Stroud who was dragged through the mud and had his character and intelligence called into question based on absolutely nothing at all. While Young was afforded the benefit of the doubt from most of the media even after skipping the combine with questions about his weight swirling. These claims might work on someone who has a hazy memory of the events but we have the receipts. Stop the bullshit.

I agree but why haven't they? I'm beginning to think they are trying at all costs to appease LaMelo so he won't leave because he and Miles are close friends. But where do you say enough is enough? Throwing billiard balls at a car your kids are inside of? After a felony DV charge? Bad look for everyone involved. Idk if any of them are worth watching or giving money to at this point.

98% of Panthers fans want him to succeed. Only a few trolls want the team to be horrific and an overall embarrassment. Just as those trolls are making discourse difficult those who want to constantly speak on Bryce's behalf at every little hint of criticism because he's a #1 overall pick are continuing the cycle of repetitive circular arguments. Let him show us all something and stop speaking as if he's already arrived. You are not his mom and dad. He's not playing at Alabama anymore. We need Bryce Young to step up and just play some football and have fun. Don't be timid don't be afraid of throwing a pick looking downfield. Just go out there and give defenses a reason to think you can beat them with your arm. That's why you were the top pick. All this other outside noise doesn't matter.

The Panthers have a lengthy history of being wrong unfortunately. The win/loss record speaks for itself as well. 99% would rather have a football team that looks like they belong in the NFL this team is barely high school level at times. And the folks who were dead set against any QB not named Young were anything but low-key about it. Considering we are now watching pretty much the worst case scenario with this pick it's inevitable these discussions will continue to be prevalent. Sorry you think reality is lame but thems the breaks my guy

What stream service is this being broadcast on?

If the Broncos with the state of their team don't want you that's all that needs to be known. The Broncos would have to pay us to take him.

Through the pre draft process I said in some ways he reminded me a lot of Cam Newton. And he looked up to Cam growing up. I see some of it in how he carries himself as a player and as a man. And some of those laser beams he's been throwing are definitely reminiscent. It's over though. We just gotta hope Bryce Young can grow this season.

I know man it's wild to me that folks are talking up that staff that roster as if it were the best destination out of all the rookie QB's. That was us. Then the same people will turn around and say for certain Stroud would be bad here. The difference maker is Stroud's arm talent and he has every bit the necessary QB IQ to play at this level.
-
The assessment is accurate. If random dudes on YouTube can see it then obviously defensive coaches watching film can see it and when you see how we are losing games it's obvious no one is afraid of our QB beating them with his arm. Bryce has to stand on his own two feet like the top pick he is and start throwing downfield. If not it's going to be more of the same and it's going to get even uglier.
-
Anyone can be wrong about a player but my goodness he is embarrassing his doubters at this point. The knocks on his intelligence his character. That mess was shameful. All from the same people who propped up the QB who skipped the combine.

The odds of Tepper hiring someone like Colbert to tell him how to run the team are miniscule. He still hasn't learned a thing and it's fair to wonder if he ever will. His ego isn't going anywhere and that's the biggest hurdle.

Calling it - the Bryce Young trade is the worst in team history
frankw replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hats off to the young man for what he's done to this point. He's simply destroyed any of the pre-draft foolishness about him as a player and a person. Not to mention he has put the credibility and relevancy of the S2 to shame. He's a great story for the league. -
Whew buddy we're a galaxy away from the days of folks spamming poo reactions on anyone with skepticism about Bryce Young huh? Now we want to know who really passed on CJ Stroud.
-
We've been over the pre-draft stuff but I mentioned it specifically because of Richardson in the context of this conversation whom you brought up. It's perfectly fine if you don't want to wade into those waters again as it's been covered adnauseum I agree. The Burns non trade discussion centered around being able to use those first rounders and the fact those first rounders were minimum 2 years away. And at the time we had not traded a borderline ransom for an undersized rookie QB. Quality pass rush is still more crucial than a running back 9 times out of 10 for competent teams despite the Panthers being an absolute dumpster fire of mismanagement and Brian Burns now being disgruntled. And I will fully acknowledge McCaffrey is a very talented back. But this team would still be lucky to win 5 or 6 games even with him here. We don't have the 49ers oline or their head coach. There are huge factors that work in his favor in San Fran in terms of his significant production.
-
Before the draft just about everyone agreed Richardson would need the most time to develop out of all the rookie QB's. Now apparently that's actually Bryce Young. Meanwhile Stroud was apparently barely cognitively functional enough to operate a motor vehicle and he wasn't enough of a leader. As far as this veteran grit I'm hearing about. The truth of the matter is CJ Stroud has looked as good or better than any veteran QB and he's only played a handful of games. All this goes to show you that it's a good rule of thumb to trust your instincts and not fall into the traps created by media hype within the draft process. Many people here clearly fell into those traps. Now they want to get angry when faced with the harsh reality we are in. Well that's too bad. We'll see how it goes though. Nowhere to go but up from here.

Tepper rejected Steichen over a zoom meeting and because he was in too big of a hurry to get some good press after taking one on the chin with Rhule. Obviously he isn't fully responsible for the awful gameday coaching we've seen because he isn't out there designing the scheme or calling plays but he did hire this clown show. He also hired Scott Fitterer who with what we know now is looking more and more like a yes man for Tepper in many ways and it's impossible to know how much of the wheeling and dealing Scott was once known for in a positive light was being pushed by our owner. This shitshow is of his creation in multiple ways. He's clearly very hands on. The buck stops there. Arguing otherwise is a major cope.

Thanos must have snapped his fingers and made his own post here disappear

Thanks I'll definitely give that a look. "The movies that made us" on Netflix had an episode about Jurrasic Park that delved into this subject some too. Those guys and all others who created practical effects through the 80's and 90's are true artists and legends. One of the scariest movies I've ever seen is the original "The Thing". Still holds up damn good 40 years later.

How in the absolute fug did anyone buy into this point guard nonsense? Idiots!

The Terminator is such a damn good film. Way ahead of it's time. I miss great sci-fi movies with practical effects. CGI looks nice for creating fantasy worlds but it's hollow and way overdone now. I've tried to like the Avatar movies but they have no rewatch appeal for me.
