  1. I don’t know about the Super Bowl but I think the conference championships will be Jacksonville/Cincy and Dallas/San Francisco. I think Dallas takes the division from Philly who I think willl have some Super Bowl fever going on and stumbles into the NFC CG due to a weak NFC. Meanwhile San Fran just runs the ball over everybody and Wilks puts together a good defense. I think Pederson gets Jacksonville’s offense rolling and Cincy starts slow but picks up momentum towards the end of the season. I don’t buy the Jets hype, I think the Bills are due a down year, and the Chiefs are always in contention. Miami could do something in the AFC with an improved Defense but they are still Miami. I can see Belichick pulling something together maybe as a last push especially with Bill O’ Brian reunited with Jones and their defense looking stout. The NFC is a free for all with San Francisco sitting on top. Dallas’ defense will win them some games. Seattle has a shot to make some noise and I think if Campbell can get Detroit back in the swing they were in last year he can take the division but probably not much further.
  2. Good things? What good things? -Signed Darnold -Traded for Mayfield -Traded up to draft Corral -Didn’t resign Gilmore despite trading for him for not even a full season. -Picked up Darnold’s 5th year option. -Traded a 3rd for CJ Henderson -Extended Ian Thomas -Extended Donte Jackson -Extended Robbie Anderson ( whom we are paying 10 million for this year). He’s not the GM everyone on here acts like he is. People just like him because he’s not Hurney or Gettleman. I’m not so sure he’s better than either at this point.
  3. If he misses a game, just trade him for a 1st rounder so I have something to look forward to in April. And the extra cap is nice.
  4. The players give the fans something to cheer about not vice versa. The fans spend hard earned money (some folks spend more than they can afford) to support the team because it’s the only escape they have and the only thing they have look forward to in some situations. Kids latch on and make heroes out of the players and idolize to be like them one day. The players make a lot of money to play a game, it’s their job to earn the support of the fanbase. “Let’s support our guys even though they suck year after year and maybe one day we won’t suck.” Sounds like something that would come out of a Cardinals or Chargers message board.
  5. Nobody over values their players than Panthers fans. It’s the realists in the crowd that bring everyone back down to earth. The teams social media is partly to blame, building up every single player that comes through the door whether they are worth a damn or not.
  6. Considering Bosa has 5 more sacks despite missing an entire season, I can see where there may be a difference in value. Especially if Burns wants what Bosa gets. Burns is not Bosa.
  7. If he holds out, the 3 first round picks a year ago is going to look really bad on Fitty.
  8. Jacob Eason is floating around out there somewhere. But I imagine if they do that they will just go get Luton instead.
  9. He can manage the game well enough should we get into a situation without Bryce and Dalton.
  10. I imagine remaining practice squad spot has to go to QB and open roster spot is likely for DL since we only have 5.
  11. Makes me feel good to see Nebraska lose in classic Matt Rhule fashion.
  12. Saints and Falcons will be neck and neck for it at 9-8 or so with us a few games back. Tampa finishes with 3-4 wins as the Todd Bowles experiment implodes on iteself. I can easily see us starting the season slow for multiple reasons. A) New staff B) new scheme C) Rookie QB D) Harder first half of schedule E) Frank Reich tends to start slow and finish strong in his career as coach. Would not be surprised if we are 2-6 or 1-7 first half of season and end up finishing 7-10 or so.
  13. I’m not there yet but I’m beginning to gravitate toward the “Fitterer was equally as bad as Rhule” train.
  14. Why not, great fit along side Ricky Lee.
  15. Matt Corral and Chandler Wooten waived as well.
  16. Absolutely. I think that’s where he belongs. If Frank ran more sets 21 personnel and had more of a vertical run scheme I think he would be fine at LT. But asking him to play LT when you stay in 11, 12, 13 personnel is out of his wheelhouse I believe.
  17. This is the first time Ekwonu has played in the spread. When there were spread concepts early in the season last year he struggled. He doesn’t have Ben McAdoo and Steve Wilks to help him out by running the ball 35 times per game.
  18. Sorry but I’m not. Most of the people that are disagreeing with me will be the first ones to trash the OL protection once we have a few injuries. Then all you will hear is “why do we have this guy or that guy” blah blah blah. We were lucky last year and didn’t lose any until the final game. Imagine we lose one guy for the season (let’s say Moton). And a few games in we lose Christensen to his ankle again. These “developmental” guys are protecting your QB. Or imagine we have multiple starters out in years past. If he’s developmental put his ass on the practice squad.
  19. When I brought up GW, it was to put into perspective the competition level he is used to. The school I played for played GW. I’m telling you there is a big difference between borderline D2 competition and the SEC/ACC. I have followed this franchise since 95, regardless of GM or coach they always have too much faith in “their guy”. Hence the days of David Foucault, Nate Chandler, Byron Bell, and Mike Remmers. I really don’t want to see this guy blocking for our future franchise QB.
  20. It’s great you guys keep naming all of these random examples instead of the outcome of the average player from these schools. There have been successful players from the small schools, yes. But what is the average compared to the larger conferences- significantly less.
  21. I’m just saying I think it’s unacceptable to even be an option for him to potentially block for Bryce Young when there are people on the market, in the past draft, past FA, and those available now.
  22. Tulsa isn’t exactly a small school when it comes to football. Population yeah.
  23. Wingate plays Mars Hill next week. Maybe we can scout us out some WRs for next year.
  24. Yeah well I still don’t think you understand the competition difference. And providing a list of generational players that went to similar (but mostly larger than his) schools over the past 30 years is asinine. Are you saying he is going to be at this level? NC A&T got the doors blown off by Gardner Webb last year. Hopefully his time spent playing the NFL talent farms like NC Central, Campbell, Gardner Webb, Bryant, Robert Morris and Edward Waters prepared him for blocking the best that came out of the SEC.
