  1. Jensen would be a huge signing for us. I worry that Rhule is happy with Eflein or Tecklenberg though. Plus we are not going to be the place most FAs want to sign. I hope we take a shot if the Bucs can't resign him.
  2. Its possible based on reports...It'd kind of give everybody an out. It could depend largely on his contract and what is in its language exactly. There is a lot of speculation that Rhule would be a frontrunner for that Job.
  3. It seems everyone is reporting that Brady is Retiring but Brady,,,,,
  4. NO will be a mess with its salary cap issues and no coach or real QB. Tampa has so many FA's. They will probably lose several especially without the brady "draw" Atlanta is trending in the right direction We are.... well we are a mess..... The Falcons really should have a leg up on the rest of the division next year
  5. I am a little older. I remember the game when Brady came in and replaced Drew Bledsoe...I was 25 or so. It was a Jets game. Kurt Warner (or B. Farve) was probably the best NFL QB at the time. Manning was a young up and comer.
  6. I respect the way he played his rookie year. The kid struggled but he was really thrown into the fire. His issue will be where will he play. He hasn't yet shown to be physical enough to play Nickel (our nickels have to tackle a lot, taking on RBs and such). Yet he's not long enough for the man coverage duties of our outside corner. If he adds some muscle and improves his tacking I guess he maybe be able to play anywhere in the backend. We will see.
  7. He is fast but I'm not sure he is as long and physical has the guys we have been bringing in since. Im not sure what kind of role he might have in the future.
  8. I Think its down to him and K. Moore. I have not heard for certain who it is yet.
  9. The guys we will struggle the most (and pay the big $) to resign are most likely H. Reddick, DJax, and Gilmore. All them will have an active market in FA. Im not sure DJ has shown enough to be considered a top corner. He may think he's worth more than teams will offer. Gilmore's recent injuries and age will scare a few teams maybe decreasing his value a little. Reddick has two straight years of double digit sacks. He will be the hottest commodity. I think we only pay one of these guys. I think Reddick is the team's #1 priority but I guess we will see. Zane Gonzalez, Frankie Luvu, and Ameer A. are some of the other guys who I think we should really try to bring back.
  10. I am really hoping Henderson can develop into a starter for us. He was very inconsistent last year. This year He'll start with the team in training camp opposite Jaycee and maybe they can develop into a really good duo with a complete preseason/Offseason to learn the system.
  11. I really doubt we pay big $ for Armstead or any other FA OT. I think we draft a LT (at 6 or after trading back, hopefully not too far back) or we roll with Brady C. backed up by Cam Erving or another FA or young T prospect we bring in. We just can't afford a big splash in FA.
  12. We might have to pay him more than that! FAs aren't going to want to be coming to Charlotte right now. We are not going to be able to get people to come here unless we offer them more than anyone else...maybe a good bit more.
  13. If we cut CMC it add like 26 mil or something to the Dead Money--we actually lose money by cutting him.. He has a crazy big deal, but we have an out negotiated in for next year. that save us a little but still adds 12 mil or so to the dead cap #.
  14. Players can restructure, but Im not sure if they can willing take less $ on a change. Teams would be ok with this I'm sure BUT (and this is purely conjecture) I think there are probably rules NFL Player Association rules and League policies that prevent this. Plus the Player's agent would probably not be too happy with this happening either.
  15. You may be right, but not according to Over the Cap. That is where I got the #s I used. The #s do seem too big for a rookie later rounds contract.
  16. The rules on this always confuse me. I think there are certain players that you can sign to future contracts but not if they were actually on your official rosters. Others you have to wait to deal with depending on their status (RFA, UFA, ERFA). Maybe someone else can clarify this better than me. Anyone?
  17. Below I have compiled a list of players under contract for 2022. These are players who I think may cut (if they can't be traded) to give the team more Cap Space to spend in Free Agency. All proposed cuts are Pre June 1st cuts. Would you cut any of these players? (My #s are from Over the Cap) 1. AJ Bouye (N/CB): (cap # next year =4.7 mil. Cap savings of 3.5 million, but adding 1.2 mil in Dead Cap) 2. Dennis Daley (OG/OT): (cap # next year =2.5+ mil. Cap Savings of 2.5 mil, adding only 31k in Dead Cap) 3. Pat Elflein (C/OG): (cap # next year =7+ mil. Cap Savings of 4.7 mil, but adding 2.4 mil in Dead Cap) *Eflein would be a lot cheaper to cut next year 4. Morgan Fox (DL): (cap # next year =5.6 mil. Cap Savings of 3 mil, but adding 2.5+ mil in Dead Cap) 5. Sam Franklin Jr (S): (cap # next year =900K. Cap Savings of 895K, adding only 5k in Dead Cap) 6. Liram H. (K): (cap # next year =825K. Cap Savings of 825K, adding 0 in Dead Cap) *We will probably try to bring back Zane G. if possible and let Hiram go 7. Myles Hartsfield (DB): (cap # next year =896+K. Cap Savings of 895K, adding only 1k in Dead Cap) 8. Michael Jordan (OG): (cap # next year =965K. Cap Savings of 965K, adding 0 in Dead Cap) 9. Cam Erving (OL): (cap # next year =6.5+ mil. Cap Savings of 2 mil, adding 4.5 in Dead Cap) There are other players under contract who we might cut that were basically PS guys or Rookies and young players we are still developing. Most of them have min. contracts with little savings and no dead $. WE also have a couple of big contracts that probably will remain on the books due to lack of trade interest and the fact we probably will not cut these guys (Shaq, CMC, Darnold) because of the huge dead money hit we'd take from their guaranteed contracts. He would you cut to save cap. Who would you bring back
  18. According to Alaina-Daboll may has landed in NY. I missed this earlier. A good hire for them IMO
  19. Fansided has already published its Free Agent Tracker Page linked below: https://catcrave.com/2022/01/28/carolina-panthers-2022-free-agent-tracker/ We are loosing a lot of good players that will be hard to resign (DJ, Gilmore, Reddick, Luvu, Haynes and many more...) A couple Items of Note: - Reddick is expected to get more that 15 mil per year. That kind of money. It might be hard to resign him. - Even though Matt Paradis is officially a FA we will be paying him in excess of 8m dollars next season. He counts that much towards our dead cap due to a contract restructure to take $ off the books this past year (He also will count 4 mil towards our dead cap in the 2023 season according to Over the Cap). - Luvu only made a little over 1 mil last year. Id expect he won't come back for that since he kind of had a breakout season for us last year. He will expect to get paid. Check it out the article. Who should we keep? What are the odds of us resigning the guys we want back on the lis?
  20. Several good candidates will not land a HC position...Many (if not all) better coaches than we currently have.
  21. Lets bring in Agent 89 to as OL coach...or hell..as LT
  22. The only players in the QB room now are Sam and PJ (Cam is a FA). There are actually several questions now: 1-Do we draft a QB to start or Develop, Trade for a QB, or sign a rental FA? 2- If we draft do they start or sit? (Probably depends on competition I hope) 3- If we trade then Who (didn't Ben Mac. work with Minshew in Jacksonville)? In the scenario the player we bring in is probably automatically the starter. 4- If we sign a rental FA, then who? Will it be Cam or Someone else (T.Taylor, R. Fitz., or even Geno Smith?)? 5- Does the rental start? (Camp battle again I hope). 6- Does PJ play into this at all? There are quiet a few ?s or scenarios.
