  1. He just needs to get back to playing football like he did the first 3 games. He's shown he can do it.
  2. Every year. Meanwhile they ignore the misses that huddlers wanted.
  3. And in that draft it we traded UP to get a consensus All American tackle who was NOT the source of the majority of the problems today. It was his first NFL start.
  4. He was visibly upset and yelling on the sideline....looked like with a coach.
  5. Say what you want about Darnold, he doesn't blame anyone else.
  6. "Did not play well enough today that's just what it boils down to for me personally. Didn't play my best football ." "I know a couple of those throwaways I was scrambling so more of a coverage thing than anything. I think that they did a good job in coverage " Q:Robbie was that was visibly frustrated on the sidelines what in particular might have been frustrated about "I’m going to keep that between Robbie and everyone that was involved." Q:How many of the three picks you think will result of pressure and how much of your overall performance today do you think were the result of pressure in your face? "I mean I felt like some of those I was holding on the ball too long. I think that that can also lead to pressure. So there's a bunch of things that kind of go into it. " Q:How much of adjustment was it for you guys with Taylor moving to the left side and bringing Brady in? "I thought T-Mo did a great job over there at least it felt like it, and then Brady I thought did really well at right tackle. So yeah I thought they did a good job. There were just a lot of instances where I felt like I was hanging on the ball too long and got to get it out." "I should have hit that throw where I rolled out to the right. I should hit that throw to Robbie and if who knows what happens after that."
  7. I agree that Chubba did well, now for a 2nd week. He was a good draft. I agree that the QB and receivers are out of sync, and from what I saw, the whole offense looked out of sorts on that last drive. They need to go in there with the attitude, "now's our chance to be heroes", instead they looked sheepish. Sam needs to change the energy in the huddle in that situation. I'm not against help on offense. I don't see us replacing Darnold, Moore, Robbie, Marshal, Thomas, or Tremble, and the WR/QB connection is half the problem. 3 seconds is just too long. Sure it be great to trade for a great OL and if one comes up, cool. I just wonder what the OL and the offense would look like if Sam got the ball out in 2.6 seconds.
  8. The offense looked bad. Sam clearly had a bad game. His first two ints were on 2nd down, the last one on 1st down. These weren't calculated risk throws where he had to make THAT throw, it was just bad play. You don't win games with 3 ints. Sam's time to throw has now reached a 3 full seconds. No OL in the league holds the pocket that long. His time to throw is on a clear trendline up. Sam's average for the year so far is 2.9s. Teddy's average for the entire year last year was 2.3s. That's more than half a second longer that the line has to hold. That's just not going to work. Receivers had a bad game. Robbie had a bad game with his drops. Even Tremble had a drop today. OL gave up 3 sacks and 8 qb hits and there were a lot of hurries. This is the first time Moton played LT with BC at RT in regular season game. Daley didn't get as much help this time, and gave up at least 1 of the sacks and a few of the other pressures. Brady Christiansen, for a rookie's first time out at RT, which he didn't play in college, was not the worst on the line. His one penalty I think was bs. Once again, no line in the NFL holds the pocket for a full 3 seconds which is how long Darnold is holding onto the ball. In the end, Sam had chance with the ball and time on the clock to drive for the touchdown and win. It would have solidified his support in the fandom and been an omen for things to come. He threw an int on 1st down.
  9. No one is babying Darnold frankw. Once again, that is all in your mind.
  10. Yes. And my point was that you can't say Tannehills floor was last year. You do understand that right? That Tannehill's floor wasn't last year, you know, because he had worse....MUCH worse years. So because he had worse years, than last year, last year can't be his floor. Because if other years are lower, then they would be his floor. Understand? You see , when comparing qb to qb, you don't compare floor to peak. You compare body of work to body of work in comparable circumstances as best you can. Linvilles point was that Tannehill had 3800 yards last year. Lets see what Sam does this year. Understand? So we can see if Sam can reach 3800. Comparing the 3800 last year, to Sams yards with the jets is not nonsensical comparison. Understand? Because Sam had never had as good environment as Tannehill had. If you like, I can explain it further for you.
  11. Welcome. Congrats on your Tenn win. I was impressed with your fanbase at the Panthers home game. The ones in my section were very nice people.
  12. For the most part I agree. 4th down ints downfield aren't smart. Though I can think of a few reasons I might. As a pro, I want to pad my stats, if it doesn't hurt the team much. Ints=$ When I'm sitting on a down and out, there is no one between me and the goalpost, I'm taking it. Its the end of the game and we're kneeing it out anyway. Who cares where the ball is, we give one more punch in the gut.
  13. This isn't a restaurant frankw. Come back to the real world here with us.
  14. Sam, with a weaker OL in most stats, has a higher passer rating, qbr and yards, and he hasn't lost to the Jags. And Sam is our QB. So I choose Sam.
  15. Some ints are smarter than others. There are strategies for a 4th down int. If I'm qb and time is short, I'm giving up the ball at the line of scrimmage on incomplete anyway. If I launch deep and the cb is stupid enough to catch and not knock down the ball and we tackle him, its worse field position. If I throw a short one, it might be better for the cb to int and try to pick 6. Depends on the line of scrimmage, and location of the int.
  16. We'll see. Lets revisit this at the end of the season.
  17. He is. I've saved the posts from those two that said Sam was a bad QB. I'm waiting until the end of the regular season, but at some point those who are backpedaling now, I will reply with their own posts. I never anticipated Sam would be setting a NFL rushing touchdown record here. He is playing very well, and if history is any guide...he gets BETTER later in the season.
  18. Ryan Tannehill has a vary up & down career and to pick one of his good years to say, that is the QB, makes Tannehill look better than he is . He was a "bad decision maker" and "turn over machine" as some would say, several years in Miami. It appears that the careers and the floors of the two QBs are very similar. To say that Sam can be better than Ryan Tannehill is not out of the realm of possibly. He is playing better than Tannehill now by nearly every measure, behind a worse OL by most measures and at this point with a rookie RB.
  19. Possible. We'll see. If he leads us some day to win a SB, I could see that. He's gong to have to really hoist the team on his back on some game winning drives to displace Cam.
  20. This. The jets were 0-10 when Sam didn't play during his years there. In fact, in 2019 Sam had a WINNING QB record. One of my first threads pointed out how bad the jets performed in nearly aspect of the game, from rushing to punting to kickoff to pass d. They were bottom of the league in nearly every measure throughout the game. Without Sam they literally couldn't win a single game. From a jets team planning meeting:

  22. 10 wins SHOULD be enough to reach the playoffs. We need 7 out of these 8 winnable games: Eagles, Vikings, @ Giants, @ Atl, Atl WFT, @ Dolphins, Pats. If we lose 2 of the above games we have to win one of these: @ Cards, @ Bills, @ Saints, @ Bucs, or Bucs at home. We can lose to the Eagles and still make the playoffs. I'm not sure if a loss this weekend would define who we are considering what is waiting to come online. With Horn gone, Henderson still acclimating, Shaq out, and CMC out, it looks like a tough game.
