  1. I think it's definitely fair to be disappointed in getting shut out at home, it does suck. However, it's the first preseason game and the offense was EXTREMELY vanilla. Reich said the staff really doesn't want to show anything which is understandable. Im kinda worried about the RG spot, like they have to get that cleaned up and the O-line HAS to be better. Not only in the pass game, but they are struggling to create lanes in the run game. I'm ultimately in wait and see mode. I'd just like to see better effort next week.
  2. I hope some of y’all are being sarcastic with the reactions in here lmaooo. I know like it’s easy to overreact to preseason but c’mon y’all breathe.
  3. FWIW after the first series, I thought the rest of the O-line starters sans the RG spot tightened up. We need to give up on the Michael Jordan experience honestly. As for the offense, I expect vanilla offense in the preseason. Not trippin.
  4. It’s preseason so I’m not trippin about the offense or whatever but they need to get that RG spot figured out ASAP.
  5. I think he was saying how this team is in a different position because they’re dealing with new everything system wise. I genuinely would not be surprised if the starters play close to a full quarter so they have enough tape to watch and learn from. I mean Andy Reid is having his starters including Mahomes play a whole quarter Sunday so we shouldn’t be above that either and Bryce needs the reps.
  6. 1. Bryce of course. It’d be great if he could lead a scoring drive before he gets taken out but I mainly want to see that poise and good decision making. 2. Guard play on the O-line. I made a topic earlier explaining what I’ve read about the guard spots and how we kind of need somebody to step up and take control of that RG spot or even push Brady. I’ll be looking at Nash Jensen, Deonte Brown and Zavala for sure to see how they hold up. 3. What the offense looks like in motion. The meshing of the McVay style and the Reich system will be fun/interesting to watch. Also curious as to if Frank lets Thomas call plays in the preseason or if he takes over to prep for the season. 4. Edge Depth. Outside of Burns, Houston, and Haynes it feels like the rest of the edge spots are up for grabs. Looking to see who can generate pressure. 5. How Mingo does. He had a good joint practice but we’ve heard about some drops, so I wanna see how he does when the lights are bright. Most importantly though, I just want our guys to get out of the game healthy.
  7. So something I’ve seen echoed amongst Panthers twitter from those who were at camp in the past week and even more so after joint practices, is that the iOL, particularly RG and even apparently LG (according to Joe Person) have been the main source of pressure leakage with the first team OL. I think the Corbett injury is affecting more than what we realize so this preseason I’ll be watching a couple of things. 1. Who gets starting reps at RG: - Though Cade Mays has felt like the natural replacement, I’ve read a lot recently about his struggles and even how he apparently got pulled for Justin McCray during joint practices. So, I’ll definitely be watching over the course of the next few weeks who they choose to give reps to at right guard during these preseason games. I’ll particularly be watching to see if this Nash Jensen hype is anything and if he lines up over there. 2. If Zavala gets up to speed, will he push for reps at LG in the next few weeks? - Chandler is clearly playing a bit of catch up right now after missing the first week and a half but the team seemed to really emphasize him playing next to Ickey again in the Blueprint stuff we saw. So I’ll be curious to see if towards the 2-3rd pre-season games we see them give him reps with the 1’s at LG or even RG. Those are just a couple of things I’ll be watching, especially after reading everything I have over the last few days. It can’t be stressed how important the iOL is with a smaller QB, regardless of how great I think BY is at finding throwing lanes, so I hope they figure it out before the season starts.
  8. Man it’s sounded like Bryce has had a really good day.

  10. outside of the one pick, our pass game seems to be getting good work in too. And even the pick sounds like it was more of the defender getting a tipped ball in coverage vs jumping a route.
  11. But I mean also, let’s call a spade a spade. Aaron Rodgers is nice with it.
  12. I’ve read the defense has been getting picked apart but nothing really bad offensively to this point outside of the pick.
  13. Idk if you’re agreeing with me or not so imma just say, okay lol.
  14. Also again, to be fair to the offense, the defense seems to be further along in their install. I was listening to DB on WFNZ and he said they’re done installing and are just working out the kinks. Frank on the other hand said the offense is still installing stuff because of the size of their playbook and deciding what they wanna keep or cut. I watched some camp recap the other day that said most of the pressure from the O-line was coming from the RG spot and occasionally the LG spot. And like again, you’d like to hear about a day where the offense “dominates” but then people would trip that the defense is getting torched by a rookie. But I don’t think the reporting around the team suggests Bryce has been “bad” on any particular day in camp.
  15. Tbf, there have been 4 padded practices and from the reports stemming from them I wouldn’t say it’s been all bad. From everything I’ve read/watched it seems like it’s been a mix of issues for the entire offense as a whole when the pads have been on, not solely Bryce. I could be off base but I do think there’s been an uptick in drops in the padded practices as well. I think the Saturday practice that just past was collectively the worst padded practice for the offense but otherwise, the reporting around Bryce’s performance in pads hasn’t been bad. Tomorrow will be the real test IMO, but even saying that, we won’t truly know anything until the real games start.
  16. I know it’s easy to dunk on Eddy for the ATL game but he was statistically one of the best kickers in the league last year when it came to accuracy and making kicks. Hope he gets healthy soon.
  17. Well Zane like tore his off the bone. Eddy will fine, I know it’s easy to fearmonger (not you in particular but in general) but I wouldn’t freak out. If they had to put him on PUP, then it’s something worth worrying about but they didn’t so he’ll be ready for the season.
  18. I feel like they might like some of the young guys that have been flashing (Leota, Jones come to mind) but you can't trust a couple of UDFA's to be your only other guys outside of Burns. I feel like YGM might get traded before the season starts.
  19. I like the move simply because despite being 34, he was productive last season. 9.5 sacks is a good number for where he is in his career. Glad they didn’t just go with a name like Clowney for namesake and opted for a guy who’s been more productive here lately. Always good to have another vet in the room too.
  20. Oh yeah I’m not worried per se. I think I’d have to see the offense struggle in a real game that counts to get concerned. Hopefully we get some good reports when the Jets roll into town.
  21. I feel like this is a double edged sword. Like on one end, it’s good to see the defense doing well. On the other end though, you’d like to see more fight from the offense. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt because they aren’t scheming/game planning on offense. The Joint Practices will be a good test as well as what we see in preseason even if it’s vanilla.
  22. Sounds like Cam Erving is getting worked over there on the right side. Otherwise it’s good to hear Bryce is having a good day and showing a little fire. Also with the apparent emergence of Kobe Jones and Eku Leota…..I think we’re gonna see some “surprise” cuts in that edge room if the okay carries over to preseason.
  23. Edit: Mr. Scot beat me to it. Leota is having a good day
