What if he pulls a Luck and doesn’t declare? What if he has a down year? Trying to plan for not this upcoming draft but the one after is not usually a recipe for success.

Oh god no. I would like to think Tepper has learned his lesson there. Grab the Eagles coordinator, grab Minshew, let him play in front of Corral and take the best offensive player available at our draft slot or trade down and grab our QB. We have outside weapons, we have a line, we are no longer paying stupid money at RB for an injury prone player, it’s time to draft a QB.

This is an offensive league. Draft Johnson out of TCU or trade back to the middle of the round and snag your player plus get extra picks.

It’s almost like when your offensive line is pretty good, lots of running backs will look good.

You have a weird definition of “suck”. Two of those teams left have better records than the Gators. I get you don’t watch college football or understand how to evaluate QB play in context but jesus, guy. It’s like you’re trying to play some sort of wrestling heel on a message board.

I mean this is the one thing teams like the Bears get right. Draft a running back every year or every other year in the 4th or later, ride them into the ground, let them walk away while you replace them with another young fresh legged back. Draft them late and never pay them.

This is the best line, by far, in recent history for us.

South Carolina is 6-3 Vandy is 3-6 Florida State is 6-3, ranked in the top 25 and all three of their losses came from ranked opponents. Two of which were by one score. So no… we aren’t playing some cupcake schedule for the last few weeks to make him look good. On top of that we lost one of our top pass catchers this week due to injury and the flashy guy who caught a nice one handed TD also got hurt. We already lacked pass catching talent and now we have less. If Richardson performs well it’s because he’s performing well.

To me it all depends on what type of offense we are going to plug him into. Do you want to play to his strengths and get him on the go and cut the reads required on a play to just half and then he has the option to run? He can play right away. You want to take this dynamic athlete and then force him to sit in the pocket every play and make four reads while figuring out the speed in the NFL? I’d prefer he sit for a bit. But a lot of that is going to be based on how he looks in camp. Im personally a fan of throwing rookies out there and let them take their lumps.

This is what you pay the scouts for. Is he a good kid? Does he work hard? Does he have elite traits? If yes to all the above you can work with that. But you need to understand that you need to develop an offense that caters to their strengths until they grow to the point they can run anything you want. We have pass catching talent here and our offensive line is no longer bottom tier. Any QB we draft has a chance at success because of the talent around him. They will need to work for it.
