  1. I can’t because then I get let down. I’m more of a slow build kind of guy. I can’t jump in at 100%.
  2. Verge and I agree on the first five picks.
  3. That’s where I’m at. I can pick apart all three all day long or talk them up. Now is the time to be ultra critical though before we invest draft value.
  4. I’m okay moving up if it’s a simple swap of our first rounders this year plus 1 additional pick. When you start doing multiple firsts I hate it.
  5. I’ve been bumping the he needs 2 years gong. Teddy can play out his contract and take hits while Lance gets his feet wet.
  6. I think Chase is the guy for the Eagles. I think Sewell has to be a Jet or a Bengal. If the Dolphins want to give Tua the opportunity to develop do they go JChase, DSmith or KPitts? Does a team get weird and draft Parsons high? We won a game against Washington that cost us having the third pick in the draft and being able to just draft a Wilson/Fields/Lance. Last year we won a meaningless game that allowed the Chargers to draft Justin Herbert one pick in front of us. We need to do what we need to do to get our guy.
  7. I’d still bet almost anything that QBs do not go 1-4 in the draft.
  8. It’s not even that horrific of a swing and a miss. Sure Teddy sucks but does anyone think if we added a Kyle Pitts and CMC was healthy all year we would still have our red zone issues?
  9. I feel the same about Fit and Rhule. I trust them for now. I wasn’t being exact with the picks. I worry about, mortgaging the future, to an extent. Swap firsts this year and give up another pick or two? Not so bad. Lose our first and second this year and next? Kind of hurts. But I’d also understand why they would make the move. I can wrap my head around just about anyone we’ve been linked to other than Mond or Jones.
  10. Agreed. Within reason. If we lose three first round picks to draft one of the kids it’s going to hurt us, and hurt their development. We need to get a QB and we need to surround him with talent. We also need to convince Brady to not leave after a single season with these kids.
  11. Thread titles a little dramatic. Even Trevor can turn out to be a bust. I think all four of these QBs have the ability to be franchise changers but they all have major bust possibilities. We aren’t going to learn anything from any of their pro days or game film we haven’t already seen. What is important now is our coaches and GM get as much interview time with these kids as possible and hope one fits our situation better than the others and they fall to us or we trade up without giving up too much. If we trade multiple drafts away for any of these kids we might be screwing them over. We need a lot of talent on this team.
  12. I think he was hinting more at pro days are set up in advance and aren’t really meaningful to watch other than seeing coaches interact with the kids. What are you learning at a pro day for most prospects that isn’t going to show up in their film? Most QBs have great pro days. They are designed to make them look good.
  13. Want vs understand are different. I don’t *want* Lance when Wilson and Fields are options. I’d understand why we would choose Lance even if the others were on the board. Just because he isn’t who I want today does not mean I don’t understand or support drafting him.
  14. I’m not negative on Lance just like I wasn’t negative on Wilson. Not you, but this place in general labels people in absolutes just because you lean one way. Lance is my 4th QB. I’d completely understand why Carolina would draft him. But if I point out things that concern me, im a Lance hater. When I questioned Teddy even while we were winning, I was a Teddy hater. I try to be objective as much as possible. When others were pumping up Trask who plays for my favorite college team I was the one saying pump the breaks. I love watching QBs. If im negative towards any QBs in this class it’s been Mond and Jones.
  15. Please don’t try and put words in my mouth. I don’t think he is dumb. On the athletes part he plays on a team that has more success over the last few years in its conference than Alabama has. His school fields the best athletes for D2.
  16. QBs trump all every year but other players often find themselves drafted before the fourth QB is.
  17. Sewell will go before QB4. Pitts and Chase might as well.
  18. It does matter who they played against. Lesser athletes against you give you far more wiggle room for mistakes. When Lance doesn’t know what to do he takes off. Great decision making against lesser athletes. Does that translate well to long term success in the pros?
  19. I’d bet anything right now that we don’t have 4 QBs go in the top 4.
  20. But it’s not the same. Decision making when you know you can outrun 99% of every pass rush is a lot easier than making decisions under duress. Gaps close quicker in the NFL. He will be under pressure quicker. He will have to make those decisions quicker. That’s what needs to be seen. Can he make a good read when he doesn’t feel pressure? Most of this draft class does. As far as calling your own plays in a pro style offense? They all figure out calling plays in the pros without much issue. Oregon spent days turning to the sideline looking at playcaller and Justin Herbert is fine. I’d be shocked if any of these kids have trouble calling plays.
  21. The reason his floor is so low right now is because he has played nobody and thrown few passes most games that nobody knows how he will fair against real NFL competition. Injury could derail him but every prospect has that risk. Crappy coaching? I don’t think so. What will mess him up if anything is going to be his adjustments to the speed of the NFL. He wasn’t playing against Power 5 athletes. The speed he plays against now in his conference isn’t touching the speed at which players react and play at in the power 5. And then it’s a significant jump to the pros how quickly everything happens. Will he take his lumps and grow or will it eat him up? He only played starting QB for one season where they blew the doors off people due to a great running game and defense. They went undefeated. There was only one real tight game where they won like 9-3 or 6-3 and he wasn’t asked to carry that game. There’s just so much risk taking a player like this that you have to be certain he’s the long term guy and he can learn fast.
