He lost to LSU while going 25/51 passing. What are you talking about? Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat. Ken Dorsey won tons of games in college and a bunch of the guys he beat during college went on to have significantly better careers in the NFL than him.

No it doesn’t bother me how scripted the OSU offense was at times. Young’s teams and coaching staffs were better than Strouds. I’ve seen plays where Young has 6+ seconds to throw. Bama has much more talent on defense than OSU. Young has had bad games too. He sucked against Texas and didn’t compete half his throws against LSU. Again, it’s not his stats that bother me other than his frame. He won’t be able to take the same hits as the others. He’ll be the smallest QB in the NFL in terms of playing weight.

You have to understand that different folks will prioritize different things they want. Young is a great prospect. His playing weight is a big issue for me. He’ll likely play around 195 once the season starts. He’d be the smallest QB in the NFL by far and I don’t believe he’ll be able to withstand the hits year in and year out. It’s not bashing Young to point out areas of concern. I’m on record saying I’ll take any of the top 4 and shut up. We need to stop retreads. Stroud just concerns me the least.

The SEC is not the NFL. And he was coached by the best coach in the SEC and surrounded by the most or second most talented team in the SEC. Small is small. He’s small.

According to me. I speak and type on behalf of my own personal opinion. Richardson and Levis did not look NFL ready at all this past season. They are the types I would worry need a year to sit and we don’t have anyone in front of them here worth starting over them. And guess what? Our pick next year belongs to Chicago. I’d hate to pick top ten again while Levis or Richardson learn and see that lock go somewhere else. I’d feel much better about Stroud starting day 1.

But this is why Chicago is either moving to Arlingten Heights to build a new stadium or they are partnering with the city of Chicago to build a dome.

Usually it’s folks who have a read on these things and have connections to teams. And you are correct in that I don’t know where the last two will go but it’s hard for me to believe they traded up to 1 to take the bigger risks in Levis or Richardson.

If the pick isn’t Stroud or Young I so t understand going to 1 to get them. Richardson and Levis we could have traded to 4 at worst to get our guy.

People keep saying it’s so easy to find good receivers now yet our team right now might have the worst WR room in the NFL at the moment. DJ was the only positive player in that group. If WR was as easy to scout as we think here on the message boards we would have had much more than DJ + nothing. We need to spend some draft capital and free agent money on WRs now to help out our rookie QB

These weights and heights aren’t all accurate. Young needs to put on weight to play in the NFL.

Young is soft. He doesn’t weigh enough to last in the NFL. He’ll end up like Pat White. He’s the only one of the big four that didn’t partake at the combine. Why? Because he put on a bunch of water weight to weigh more but he knew he’d look bad in drills like that. I don’t care that he’s short. I don’t think he’ll take NFL hits.

If he were 220 maybe.

I don’t think Bears fans are idiots for feeling they got the better of the deal. I also don’t think we should be too upset. We just need to nail the pick for it to make sense. You can trade up to 1 but still pick the wrong guy. It’s like when Chicago traded up to get Mitch. The move was solid. The pick was wrong. Had it been Mahomes instead history would be nicer to them. We made the right trade. Now we need to make the right pick.
