  1. 30 years and the last 6 rank *way* down the scale.
  2. Seems like that is why Legette. Gettleman tried tall to offset a wild high QB (which is a very flawed solution on its face). I think the jump ball guy in this sitiuation is a sound approach. Actually with as much air as we will likely see under deep balls, an outfielder type that can flag it down will have an easier time getting to it than an off target flat trajectory ball. More time in the air. Which so will the defenders but we have the jump ball guy, so advantage... maybe. edit: and that is also one of my total favorite things: understanding how to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. If your QB can’t rope a deep ball, you have to find another way.
  3. They must have let the non citizens vote. If they had asked only Panther citizens the outcome would have been much less positive. I think 90% minimum of the fan base wants him out of sight and out of mind and would love to have a way to communicate that to the world, and by extension... Tepper. If I am telling the truth.
  4. That is the only way I see it being possible. They are going to have to at least impede the pursuit somehow. He is not fast enough to succeed as a scrambling QB. At least I do not think he is. The downfield stuff fits in there too. But he has to be able to see downfield via lanes in the protection, pocket wise.
  5. Patriots for a long time, Miami can’t play in January up north in January and couldn’t get home field was my impression without researching each season. so if they did get a wild card it was tough
  6. Well here we go. I hated him outside the pocket. Throwaways galore, getting run down from behind, and yeah he made a few plays too. That doesn’t seem like something that will translate from his school days. I suppose we’ll see.
  7. That is pretty much critical and the biggest question in my mind. A lot say Icky and the C position which will play into it. Someone said our QB had a 30% hit rate on deep balls in school. He looked bad throwing it last year. So it’s a pretty big question mark. The biggest one, really, at this point.
  8. I have said all along that the staff knows one hundred percent what they have. Ands last yuear was a chinese fire drill. Maybe now I should call it a DC fire drill. But there is no reason they can’t come in with a good plan for these players.
  9. I’m looking forward to seeing the offensive plan more than any other thing. Otherwise I don’t have much if anything to add about those players excpt maybe, camp is gonna be big for the young WRs. For as far back as I remember, the WR position was considered to be one where patience was needed. The wait until year 3 is something I heard a lot. I don’t know where that went but I bet some guys still do need time. The coaching chaos probably cost Mingo and TMJr developmental time, as well. Wait for the hitting and let’s see.
  10. Yeah that is something too. Be not funny if they spent draft plus gave a top contract to Aiyuk and little old Johnson goes off and there is no money for him. And you can’t trade him can you? UFA after the season. I think we have placed our big bets already let the wheel spin.
  11. Yeah. If we want him, have to hope someone’s starter does not suffer something that costs them a lot of games.
  12. He was a late 1st. I haven’t really kept up but it looks to me like he can’t get his money from SF for whatever reason. And wants top dollar. We just spent a late 1st and don’t know what he is, but that is the way to get these guys. Or in the 2nd. Or 3rd. Look at the guys people have found even last year. Again, we just are getting started, like step 1, with a HC that was hired in large part because of his work with QBs and he came up doing WRs. His OC is a WR guy. I am just thinking we need to let them work and evaluate.
  13. He was a late 1st. We just spent a late first on a guy. That is the way to get those players. You can say Legette was a bad pick, I guess but it’s a little early to say anything definite.
  14. Possibly will, unless someone makes him that good offer he wants. The gamble might be waiting it out and hoping some good team doesn’t lost s starting CB the first week of camp. I suppose maybe he would give them a chance to match. Maybe
  15. yeah. It seems like a waste I don’t know how he will do this year but I know he can play so maybe it really will be the old ‘change of scenery’.
  16. I see what y’all are saying but new staff and they haven’t even had a good look at these guys . Mingo last year. Legette this year. Plus how many OCs QBs and HCs has Marshall had now? I’m not saying they are anything certain but they are so young and the coaching has been inconsistent, lots of change and it hurts young players. We have a WR/QB specialist OC and HC, I am looking forward to them getting to work on them and see what they can make of it. I wouldn’t mind having a stacked bunch of quality WRs, naturally. But I don’t think the timing is right for sending picks and spending a huge contract. We might even need to sign a QB next year. I’d personally make small adjustments and go with who we keep.
  17. Yeah no kidding he is gonna want to know and sign off. And as an aside, you could be in agreement with something but still want to be sold. If for nothing else than to get your money’s worth and keep people sharp. See what they are thinking, make sure you know what you should know. Of course I don’t know about that Burns stuff but my feeling about rejecting the haul - it came from the top. And I would think Fitterer knew or had a good guess which way Tepper would lean before he went to him with it. Just because, day to day stuff you see and hear. Meaning yeah he doesn’t always have to say the words because they know what he wants.
  18. I feel okay about him this year. As long as he can still run.
  19. Yeah. I mean, if I owned a team that would be some of the best part of it, being in the loop on that stuff and the whole draft thing.
  20. I am a big whatever on your criticism. Keep chirping I don’t care. We have how many draft rounds invested there right now? 3 years in a row one per year. 2nd, 2nd, 1st all vying for number 3 WR It ain’t guitar collecting, WRs do not get more valuable hanging on the wall not being used. Maybe we develop the overflowing WR room and maybe then WE can get some picks coming our way for once.
  21. Nah, sometimes the best deals are the ones you don't make I ain’t bitin’. Wouldn’t change anything.
  22. No. We need to make something out of the substantial investments we’ve already made there.
  23. You make a good point there, like who does know? There are more than athletic reasons guys fail, something outside of football... attitude, family issues, maybe too much pressure too soon, and none of that may apply here but do we know? See what happens.
  24. Yeah this isn’t a draft pick any more. He is basically like any UDFA status wise now, with a better bank account. This is like that stuff where say ‘if it saves even one life...” sub in “If we find even one player..."
  25. Well look, we aren’t going anywhere so play week 1 without him, then maybe he comes in not guaranteed but gets a bonus or whatever, done.
