  1. What are the sources on those reports? Anything credible? Not being an ass, legit question.
  2. Yep. Basically. Like you said, it's an oversimplification, but it's the basic gist of it.
  3. Aside from the colic months, 100% agreed. I wouldn't wish a colic baby on my worst enemy after having lived it.
  4. Nope. Most fans don't understand this concept. That guaranteed bonus money is already paid out. The only new money a player gets is from being on the roster. Just because the bonus money is prorated across the length of the contract and hits the cap in future years doesn't mean that's when it's actually paid out. Salary, roster bonuses, workout bonuses, escalators, etc. are not paid out if/when the player is released. Signing bonus is the only thing that matters and that was paid out upon signing.
  5. Xavien Howard reports to Dolphins camp after holding out of mandatory mini camp trying to get a new contract. Sizzle be like
  6. The guy just gets off on people being forced to submit to authority. It's bizarre. 100% chance his hard drive is full of some really fuged up BDSM porn.
  7. But if a team decides to terminate the contract you have no issue with that. If the player attempts to utilize his leverage (because he CAN'T terminate the contract) you howl like crazy. Bizarre.
  8. Honestly, the NCAA should just fug right the fug off. Major college football and basketball masquerading as "amateur athletics" is a farce literally no one believes. Everyone involved is making bank except the actual players. The highest paid public employee in nearly every state is a college football or basketball coach at a public university.
  9. The NFL has non-guaranteed contracts. They HEAVILY favor the team. You just love watching people having to bend the knee to authority figures.
  10. We paid CMC a ton and a lot of Samuel's usage in our offense is somewhat redundant with CMC. I get letting him walk. You can't pay a 4th option $10M+ per season. We've already paid CMC. We're gonna pay Moore. We drafted Marshall to take over Anderson's role moving forward. We drafted Shi Smith to hopefully take over the slot role moving forward. Overall, I like the plan at WR both from a talent perspective and a cap management perspective.
  11. You just seem to get off on power/authority. Usually that's held by the wealthiest person but not always. Players get cut all the time when teams decide they're no longer worth their contracts but let a player angle for more or attempt to use any leverage they may hold in any way and you go on one of your rants. It's bizarre.
  12. It's definitely still important, but this becomes more and more of a QB driven league every year.
  13. And true. It amazes me how many folks think Hurney is running the show -- couldn't be further from the truth. Hurndog doesn't have the authority to pull the trigger on ANYTHING without the approval of Tepper and/or Rhule. For those of you who may watch Billions...Tepper is Axe...Rhule is Dollar Bill (a portfolio manager with limited trading authority)...Hurndog is a supporting analyst with no trading authority (unless it is co-brokered with Rhule and doesn't exceed Rhule's size limits). This "strong man" obsession he has is just bizarre.
  14. I don't put a whole lot of stock into PFF. With our OL signings, it looks like we targeted guys who were good at certain things and just weren't great all around. This could (hopefully) imply that we finally have a staff that will actually scheme around their talent instead of trying to force square pegs into their round hole system.
  15. He was signed because our OGs suck. He's probably not great, but he's better than what we had.
  16. So... you're getting off on that. Just like you would if a player is released (in which case the team would be failing to uphold the contract they entered into). Anytime you see the "strong man" winning you get off on it. It's weird.
  17. That's the same as #2. Sidenote... it's weird how much you get off on the wealthy man trying to force his will on the less wealthy man.
  18. They know they're still holding this bad hand because they didn't honor his initial trade request. Had they done so, some other team (quite possibly us) would be sitting there with a franchise QB potentially facing serious legal issues, a possibly irreparable public image, and a probably lengthy suspension (if the potential legal issues don't land him in prison). They would be HUGE winners. Instead, by playing hardball they're currently holding a bad hand and so they have two choices: 1. Cut bait, trade him for whatever they could get (IF the league would even approve a trade right now) with the trade haul confirming what a bad call they made playing hardball. 2. Continue to play hardball and hope the situation improves creating a better trade scenario for them. We'll see how it plays out, but all indications are they're gonna go #2. Pun fully intended.
  19. Current management has no other choice than to stay the course. Staying the course got them to this mess. They gotta ride this thing into the ground now.
  20. I had no idea who this guy is or what his track record was, but a quick Googling turns up that he's pretty much just a typical "hot takes" radio jock. I wouldn't give this more than a coin flip's chance of being accurate.
  21. Yeah, this stuff coming out about Watson was a straight up shocker. I mean, if it happened to someone like Big Ben it wouldn't have been surprising.
  22. Honestly, I do too. But if you put an MVP caliber QB on this roster we'd make some serious noise as long as our OL proved serviceable.
  23. Sure, try to get the Texans to take him but honestly we'd probably end up having to flip him for s late round pick like we did with Teddy, exposing ourselves to the reality of his actual market value and how bad we got taken to the cleaners.
