  1. This. They landed two of the most slam dunk #1 overall picks of my lifetime. People say tanking doesn't exist but that team 100% tanked for Andrew Luck.
  2. It's not that simple. The game that made me a Richardson believer was his game against FSU. He went 9/27 in that game. So why did it make me a believer? Because I don't think I've ever seen a QB throw so many catchable balls to receivers who couldn't catch a damn thing. Richardson's state sheet lies if you watch the games. Yeah, he needs to get more consistent. But he's not nearly as bad of a thrower of the football as you'd expect just looking at the stats.
  3. Where's the data on QBs who are Bryce Young's size? It's not that he's undersized in that he's just smaller than ideal. It's that he's historically small for the position.
  4. David Tepper is. He desperately wants a megastar QB.
  5. Supposedly he was the target when we were targeting the #3 overall pick in a trade up. If you're sold enough on him to trade up to #3 for him you should probably be sold on him enough to take him at #1.
  6. I think it would be exciting as hell. It would mean that our very experienced staff thinks he had what it takes between the ears to maximize his immense talents in the NFL and that they can get him there.
  7. Bama runs shotgun almost exclusively and has for awhile. They went from an old school ground and pound I-formation offense to a total spread attack overnight.
  8. But no one is arguing Stroud's size is of zero concern. If Young wasn't in this draft and Stroud was there at his size beside Richardson and Levis then there would be more talk of Stroud's size. But Young is in this draft and his size is of much more concern than Stroud's. Stroud is on the smaller size of "check the box size" for an NFL QB. But Young is waaaaaaay below it. It'd be like having a 290 pound DT prospect and the fans of the 250 pound DT prospect point to him and say "Hey, he's not ideal size either!" Yeah, he's not but he's just smaller than ideal while your guy is "he'll be the smallest guy to ever succeed at this position in the modern NFL" size.
  9. I honestly think at this point we probably pretty much know if not outright know who our pick is going to be. Our front office and staff is just enjoying their time in the spotlight and toying with everyone. And the NFL absolutely wants this. The more intrigued there is going into draft day the better for their ratings and the media hype.
  10. I'll say again. We aren't choosing between Young and Tua. We're choosing between Young and Stroud. Tua is just a recent NFL comp for how an undersized QB has been repeatedly ragdolled and injured. Young is a lot smaller than Stroud and has less frame to build on thus were a lot more concerned about Young in this regard than Stroud. It's really that simple. You're acting like people are treating Stroud like he's Wolverine or something and that's just not the case. You've said yourself that Young is smaller and thus there is more injury concern there so what are you really even arguing about? You're all in on Young. Cool. But don't get triggered by folks talking about concerns about his size. The concerns are very real
  11. No one here is acting like CJ Stroud is immune from any and all injury. We're just saying that it's a lot bigger concern for Young both because of his current size and likely future size projections. This attempted rationale to act like 6'3" 215ish and 5'10" ??? (probably 190ish at best) is the same thing is just baffling.
  12. It's what concerns me. Bryce Young is basically the same size I was at that age. I just can't wrap my head around it when I see QBs getting smoked by 280+ pound dudes who can run like a deer.
  13. There no double standard. There's more concern about Young because he's a lot smaller than Stroud. This really isn't that difficult. This is like claiming there's a double standard by claiming a WR who ran a 4.6 40 has deep speed concerns in the NFL but no one is saying that about the 4.4 WR. Well, yeah.
  14. I mean, I like Young as a player. But to act like his size is of no concern is crazy. If he was Stroud's size, yeah give me Young all day everyday. But he's not. That's what makes the decision an actual decision.
  15. Because it's a current NFL example. I really don't understand why this is such a struggle for you.
  16. It's about projection. Stroud at 6'3" with a considerably larger frame could easily carry 225 pounds. Young is 5'10" and slight framed. I honestly can't ever seen him playing much if at all over 200 pounds. CMC guzzled water to weigh in slightly over 200 pounds at his combine. Remember watching him being ragdolled as a rookie before he put on weight? It was scary.
  17. The point isn't to directly compare him to Tua. We aren't deciding between Young and Tua. We're directly comparing Young and Stroud. Stroud is considerably larger.
  18. Measuring tape and scales don't lie. Well, unless you spend weeks porking out at Golden Corral to step on a scale while hiding all week under a hoodie then slim back down for your Pro Day to actually do drills while declining to get back in the scale. We're strictly talking about size here. We're talking about a guy who is built like a slot receiver taking these types of shots. What saves receivers is that they're typically taking these hits from DBs. The guy's typically hitting QBs are 50+ pounds heavier than those DBs. It's a huge concern. That's all I'm saying. Anyone who acts like it isn't is just in denial.
  19. Because people are more concerned about Young because he's considerably smaller still than Stroud.
  20. I know a lot of people are making this argument but it's just a weird argument to make when I saw Tua getting ragdolled and brain damaged this year with my own two eyes.
  21. Yeah, it kinda baffles me how so many of our fans are acting like we have the makings of an elite offense. Our OL is legit (if health at OG doesn't detail it), but our receivers as a group are below average. I honestly think borderline top 10 is about this group's ceiling unless this rookie QB is REALLY fuging good. I mean, we're acting like a 33 year old clearly on the downslope Adam Thielen, made of glass DJ Chark, and a career underperforming former 1st round TE are gonna turn us into the Greatest Show on Turf overnight. We needed some bandaids and we got some, but I don't see any long-term answers out of these guys unless Chark finds some magic health elixir in Charlotte.
  22. Right now, my expectations basically breakdown: 50% Young 45% Stroud 5% Richardson Anyone else would be absolutely shocking.
