  1. We've all been saying that the NFC South team that lands a legit QB is poised to own the division for the foreseeable future. Well, the Saints just did that. Folks, we just got a guarantee that we're gonna do something very bold (and hopefully not very stupid) in the draft.
  2. Artimus Pyle lives here in town. I see him quite often.
  3. One of the top TEs. This is the strongest TE class I can remember. Our TE group might be the worst in the league. We gotta come out of the draft with one of them. I'm kind of on them like I am on the top three QBs. I'm not super tied to any one of them in particular. I expect Mayer to go well before #39 so he's out, but I expect a very good one to be there at #39 and I'd probably have the plan to go TE with that pick.
  4. If we're talking about risk, THAT would be the biggest risk a team could take in this draft. You have a young guy who has shown promise despite being surrounded by nothing. If you move him to take another QB you damn well better be right because if you draft a bust and Fields goes on to flourish elsewhere you're now officially the biggest jackass in sports.
  5. If he's a bust you probably get fired in two years. If you fail to land one you probably get fired after this year.
  6. The thing about those generational prospects is there's no trading for them. The team that lands #1 takes the guy.
  7. I'm not saying that. I'm saying we should consider all possibilities. Hell, I've said numerous times that if multiple future 1sts are involved that makes me hesitant as hell. Some of y'all just formulate an opinion, dig in, and start slinging grenades. LOL! I don't think Tepper is on the mood for the "wait another year" plan. What do you do next year if you're in the same position? Comes a point when you run out of years to wait because you've gotten yourself fired for waiting.
  8. You're talking in absolutes about draft prospects. That's the #1 fallacy of any draft conversation.
  9. Of course I know it's a huge risk. Who doesn't realize this? You know what else is a huge risk if you're Fitts? Sitting at #9. Sit at #9 and end up having to reach on say your #4 QB and if he flounders you're probably fired. The Panthers are operating like they fully plan on this being out last top 10 pick for awhile.
  10. We'll see. It's a funky year because last year's QB class was perceived as weak and the QBs were pushed down the board. Feels like the entire league is working under the premise that Maye and Williams are the top two picks next year and there won't be any trading for those picks. So that leaves everyone chomping at the bit this year.
  11. But put yourself in Fitts' shoes. You have an owner desperate for a franchise QB. He's run out of patience waiting. If you sit there at #9 and a QB doesn't fall and you have to go into the season with another mediocre vet retread or a third tier rookie or Matt Corral at QB, you're a walking dead man. You're as good as fired. Make a bold move for a QB and you've at least bought yourself time. The time is now. Everyone feels it.
  12. As he should. He has the golden ticket. If he gives it to you, you can save football in *insert flailing NFL city here*.
  13. So weak that there's legit concerns that four QBs might go before our pick at #9.
  14. Good for you. We're just having a conversation here. Some of y'all get ridiculously personal with this stuff.
  15. You keep saying this while continuing to ignore that you're talking about a true freshman Stroud vs. a junior Fields who was coming off a 45 TD season. There's no QB competition when you have a rising junior who just threw for 45 TDs. Just stop with this embarrassment.
  16. As for the actual QB... I'm fine with either Young, Stroud, or Richardson. I can understand an argument for any of the three.
  17. Except the last time #3 got traded the Niners basically gave up #1 overall value for it. The Cardinals would look to duplicate that type of haul knowing it's be for a QB.
  18. Agreed. But it's not for Joe Burrow. It's for a complete NFL unknown you're hoping like hell you're right about. I'm not opposed to it. I just acknowledge what a massive risk and roll of the dice it would be.
  19. If your OL is running something really good or really bad is happening.
  20. It's been the same story for two years. This team can beat anyone in the country on any given night. They can also lose to anyone in the country on any given night. Do the bad shots this "offense" creates fall or not? Nothing changes except the shots falling or not.
  21. Barely over 3000 yards and 15 TDs in today's NFL means you should be looking HARD for an upgrade at QB, NOT looking to pay that guy $40M+ per year.
  22. Hopefully there are some future Panthers working out today. But hopefully they're day three picks. I'm honestly not looking at OL or RB in the top three rounds this year barring some unbelievable value available (and assuming Bozeman is re-signed).
