Haven't read through the thread, but seems like a pretty bad deal for Dallas. The Packers were already a pretty good team so those two 1sts are likely to be late in the round, then you get an aging DT whose production fell off a cliff last year that you're probably gonna cut after this season to avoid the ballooning cap hits in his contract. Doesn't really feel like they "got" him as much as the Packers got rid of him.

Boise State/USF was competitive in the first half. I think it was 10-7 at half. Just checked back in and USF is giving them the business now. 31-7 early in the 4th.

USF's QB just absolutely BAPTIZED a BSU DB just a couple plays after the same guy got a personal foul flag for hitting him late. I mean, absolutely planted his ass. Looked like it was going for no gain and homie just got TRUCKED to give up a 1st down on 3rd and 8.

South Florida just killing themselves with penalties and miscues. QB overthrew what should've been a deep ball TD. Then a drop. Then a hold wipes out a big gain. Then the QB pulls off a Cam Newton looking 40 yard TD run and it gets called back with a very questionable holding call.

I really hope we don't use the TE position as a huge tell on the coming play. Having a receiving TE and a blocking TE is good in theory but it's a huge liability if it becomes a big time tell on the upcoming play.

Early season games are always a big coin flip since preseason rankings are just complete projections based on some varying combination of legit expectations and hype. I mean, we all know that the blue bloods are gonna be good but how the tiers are gonna actually break out and which mid-tier teams are gonna end up punching well above their weight? Total crap shoot. I think my Heels may have a chance to be one of those mid-tier teams simply riding competent coaching and a feather soft schedule. We'll see...

Yeah, when I watch Burrow play and then watch Bryce play I see no difference whatsoever. Switch their places and I expect we'd see minimal difference in the Panthers and Bengals offenses. Said no rational person ever. LOL

Based on what I've seen from Smitty's commentary recently, this seems like the worst advice ever. Smitty is terrible on the mic these days. Listening to him ramble on and on about god knows what while Jake and the other guy desperately tried to pivot back to the actual game they were supposed to be calling was nothing short of painful.

True. But how many "great" coaches are there? Most are just good. If you give them the right players to fit their system they can produce good results but if you don't they're cooked. There's not many guys out there who truly have the ability to coach to the talent they're given and the Panthers have definitely never had any.

Not sure if Tepper even considered that to be honest. I think when Rhule flopped hard as a guy with no NFL experience Tepper history instinctively went with the exact opposite approach with Frank and crew and went with guys with tons of NFL experience and since he knew he wanted a QB in the draft he went with a guy who was a former QB and had a reputation of being a good QB coach. I honestly don't know if there was anymore in-depth analysis on the fit than that.
